I just bough the new macbook pro 14" and i defenetly go with logic thanks for make my decision more ez i just gonna starting on music production im a musician since 1994 so im ready to rock on 💪🙌
Player I been with Pro Tools for 20 so years, (5.1 Version) the best complimentary DAW with Pro Tools for Me is Reason, use Reason for some production, but I also use Pro Tools Mainly for making Beats, Mixing, and Recently I Mastered a project in Reason that came out Better Than I Thought. the main Reason I love Pro Tools is Because of the GUI, it just looks better Than most DAWS, and furthermore it looks real like a Real Mixer, and the same for the Edit Window not like Toysrussy and Gimmicky Like Fruity Nutty Varieties Out There, it Drives me mad also Pro Tools Gives you More Than one way to Accomplish the same Task.
Because Logic Pro 10.7 came, I felt like I want to come back and use Logic again. That 10.7 is one of the biggest update for me. Glad I didn't purchased it in the past since I have the trial, but Logic Pro 10.7 seems more of an attention because of these powerful features. One is Dolby Atmos/Spatial Audio, which this is huge. I like mixing Dolby Atmos. I want to create some worship music with both Stereo and Dolby Atmos. I am so excited to write music in Logic Pro, and mix my songs and have a second track for the Dolby Atmos/Spatial Audio version.
Logic always free update not like others you have to pay to upgrade, the only thing you need to do is to upgrade OS and that why many musicians and producers don't like to update their OS every 6 months or every year
I just went through the same thing with Cubase 11 pro, really tried to like it but I'm just too fast in Logic Pro as well as being more efficient/snappy on my 2015 macbook pro.
Its not true that in ProTools you have to manually route tracks to busses. Theres a very easy way: Select the tracks (in edit or mix window) you want to bus, than do right mouse click (while hold "shift+ alt") on the output of one of the tracks, and than you can chose "to new track". Than give it a name and "boom" you have an aux(bus) and all tracks are routed to it and the buss/aux is namend the same.
Man.. I tried Abelton and Studio One...Logic is IT for me 😅😅😅😅 So so many things make your workflow easier and give space for creativity to flow (instead of worrying about the quirks of the daw)..Welcome back fam
🤣 You have to become disciplined to learn these other DAWS. Require serious time investment! I can learn the essentials but I don’t have time to relearn everything I already know how to do well. Logic Pro it is 🤣💯
I give you props for going back to what you know. I’m a Studio One user but I only record into it then dump to Pro Tools. I been using Studio One 9 years but it has limits with my workflow but I still can use it for what I need which is to get the recording parts done. People will debate on what’s best all day but it’s all a preference because what works for one done don’t mean it work for all vice versa. Listeners will be more into what you put out not what you used to put out ✅✅✅✅✅
There are production chains broken as we speak and let the work speak for itself!!! I work at Sam Ash here in Miami besides doing production and I be hearing stories etc which is both good and bad 😂😂😂😂✅✅✅✅✅ Your production is amazing may you keep helping those who need the help that you’re providing!!
I love studio one hands down but i do agree with the sound libraries. It's one thing i wish Studio one would do better. It's different for everybody but the logic sound library inspire me to create more than studio one's stock sounds.
Sound libraries? Unless you're on an extremely tight budget, that has got to be the the least important factor in choosing a DAW for most people. Given how the subject of sample libraries is so subjective in needs and preferences, the vast majority of producers put together their own collection from among the hundreds of 3rd party libraries available. Speaking for myself, I couldn't care less if a DAW came with NO stock sample libraries. In that area I prefer Kontakt, and have a dozen or so libraries I have chosen over the years. To a slightly lesser degree I'd say the same holds true for the included stock effects as well.
Studio One 5.5 bro, you should revisit it. SOOOOOOOO many features that Pro Tools Or Logic doesn't have and I use all three, but as of late I'm using Studio One more and more.I don't believe in the best Daw theory since I.ve used all of them at one point, but I do believe the best DAW for personal preferences because that's what it really is. Didn't like Ableton because of building clips and logic's doing the same so I deleted them and I deleted Pro tools because it's behind the curve missing "AAALLLLOOOOTTT" of features that all other daws have.
*Sings Fred Hammond - Prodigal Son* welcome back to the family, it was sad to see you go 😂 I’ve tried Studio One, Cubase, wasted money on FL studios because of the hype around it not knowing Logic is the only one that makes sense to especially since I used GarageBand a lot back in the day
I like studio one for making beats, I use impact, what does logic currently have. I’m use to the mpc or machine type workflows but I don’t see that logic has anything like this.
Haha, I'm a full Logic Pro head! Great stuff Yaahan, I'm a Jr too! I stopped using Pro Tools way back when it got too expensive for me to use, and because all the stuff I do is for me, I just mix in Logic too. I know the program inside out. Use what you know! Salutations from humid, grey and still sorta weirdly not back to normal Ireland! ☘️☮️🤘🏽🤠👍🏽☮️☘️
I would argue the GOAT would be cubase for introducing VST to daws... Followed by Ableton. Who revolutionized the way sequencing worked. Logic to me was always known for its tight midi. What that means these days I dunno. I used to be a logic fanboy but since it got apple exclusive. I was forced to switch. Tried almost all daws for years maintaining multiple daws. Settled 4 months ago with cubase. For the same reasons as you the quality of all the stock stuff and workflow. Thnx for sharing. Subbed
1) Set up macro -> done 2) nobody buys a DAW for it's sounds, unless he's a very "special" kind of person edit: i acknowledge the general superiority of logic's built in synths etc. though. 3) mixing workflow in s1 is the easiest and overall most convenient i've come across in any daw i've ever used, and that contains a solid couple of years of using both cubase and logic respectively as my main DAW.
Work flow besides.. the taste test or hearing test is sound quality the math behind the 33 floating bit and just logics audio processing is way better then any DAW…
I know how to get Studio One up and running right away to record and Pro Tools I know how to drop my files in it and start going to work. We all have that quick access thing with our workflow that’s how that works out!!
I prefer Ableton and Logic. Most of the time, I am more creative when I start in Ableton...though not for orchestration. Ableton's session view is a great way to visually organize multiple takes. Even though Logic has something similar now, I feel like it's harder to use, requiring secret key commands, while Ableton's clickable UI is just more intuitive. BTW, I find Logic does have a cleaner sounding "Mix/Master" than Ableton even with the same 3rd party plugins (like FabFilter's stuff). Also, I have to admit I fight a lot more with FL Studio's UI and Cubase's UI to accomplish the same results...even though both those DAWs have some great sounding built-in instruments.
I learned allot sitting on sessions during the 90s, i used to sit in arista records radio edit sessions as well and we talking ssl9000j , pro tools hardware, apogee i/os, avalon pres/eqs, neve pres and the only time anyone went outside logic was to use sound-designer 2 for fast 2 mix cuts for radio., studio vision pro was the easiest daw ever, if it ever comes back and they add tight nodes for automation like pro tools i think no one will ever look at logic again.
I flirted with Studio one. I still like it for the meta data for mastering. Logic just has too much with in itself that I need to get music done quicker. Like the scoring function so I can write pro charts.
@@jamarharrison4740 True but don't you have to open another app to do that? In logic it's just a key command away. Moreover, I can create lyric sheets, lead sheets.....etc.
All modern DAWs are great, every with its own advantages and drawbacks. Our habits are powerful, many of us will choose what we are used to, and that's not only ok but very reasonable - why should anyone force yourself to the workflow he is not used to? The ideal DAW doesn't exist. This would be my ideal DAW: the base would be Studio One, but GUI from ProTools (not the modern dark, but older bright cream-pastel colors), tweakabilty/flexibility/scripting from Reaper, midi and some other cool stuff from Cubase, sound library from Logic etc. :)
It's a little different approach... It's a workflow thing... I wish I had the time to really dive into the Studio One way, but I'm at point in my career where I need to work fast with quality. Just made more sense to switch back in the end.
It was Emagic back then. But Apple bought them. It's still the same team located in Germany were Ableton and cubase and all the other big ones like Native Instruments are sitting... But the product has gotten way more powerful since they can concentrate on one ecosystem and don't have to please two masters. From what I'm hearing is that a cheap Mac Mini or M1 laptop run circles around an expensive PC desktop with the new Magic futuristic chip. If you switch you'll never look back
It's a specific pro tools function that I've built my career on. 99% of my gospel clients need radio edits fast and unfortunately I just didn't have the time to figure out a whole new work around in S1.
I switched to Studio One for most of 2021 after using Logic for three years. I'll say a lot of the things in Studio One just make sense. right-clicking on a region and being able to change the name or the overall velocity, it's just easy. using the numbers to switch between tools, just makes sense. But what I didn't like was how you can't save patch presets like you can in Logic, for example a keyboard preset you made. In my opinion, Logic needs to make it's automation better, and add a dedicated drum programming view. I ended up switching back to Logic because of the live Loops, and so I don't have to spend $15 a month on studio one when I already own Logic
You just didn’t take the time to learn studio one lol Take a while to switch from daws but I will say logic stock sounds has it beat. But there are some upsides in studio one like having melodyne integrated and the macros you can make are insane both are great stick to the one you kno bless 🙏🏾
True, I've been through a few DAW and ended up on studio one, but took me some time, I kept bouncing between the 2 daws until I was familiar enough in studio one to be confident in my work, especially when dealing with clients. Stick with what's best for you and makes sure you keep the lights on 💯👍🏾🙏🏾
Wow, so you left Studio One because of an organ, copy track, or copy instrument. To go back to using two DAWs. Have fun with that. If there were more reasonable points than that I would get it. Sounds like you just want to go back and made up some weak reason to do it. I don't see how working out two DAW is a faster workflow. 😃😄😁 🤔

Do check them out.✌
It depends on your workflow.
I feel you on that!!
Some of the limitations seems like user error of not knowing how instead of the DAW having limitations
Personal preference at the end of the day...
Great video and excellent reasoning and perspectives.
Thanks a lot for watching!!!!
Its not true that in ProTools you have to manually route tracks to busses. Theres a very easy way:
Select the tracks (in edit or mix window) you want to bus, than do right mouse click (while hold "shift+ alt") on the output of one of the tracks, and than you can chose "to new track". Than give it a name and "boom" you have an aux(bus) and all tracks are routed to it and the buss/aux is namend the same.
This is dope! And you can use the track folder 📂 option which I love now!
Wow you play so good. I'm a big Herbie & Duke fan.
How about doing a tutorial about recording and mixing drums in Protools using there stock plugins?
Bro your welcome back I understand
I appreciate it fr fr lol!!
I knew it was coming bro I was waiting for this video 🤣🤣🤣
Ahahahaha you already know bro 😭🙌🏾🤣🤣🤣
Automation moves with the event/waves in studio one also “when you know what you’re doing” lmao
Logic Pro it is 🤣💯
Welcome back
I give you props for going back to what you know. Listeners will be more into what you put out not what you used to put out ✅✅✅✅✅
💯💯💯💯Great points and thank you for the validation!!!!
Why just u d use studio one for just recording...if you use pro tools ..so why you dont record also in pro tools ......?????
Welcome back home!✊🏿💯🔥
So glad to be back!!!
To a slightly lesser degree I'd say the same holds true for the included stock effects as well.
ewwww" weeee" them skilled keys just punched me in my stomach! NICE!
Welcome back!
My guy! Good to be back for good this time 🤣👌🏾
Presonus told me to tell you to come back cuz Studio One 6 Automation definitely follows the audio lol
LMBO!!!!!
LMBO!!!!
*Sings Fred Hammond - Prodigal Son* welcome back to the family, it was sad to see you go 😂
I’ve tried Studio One, Cubase, wasted money on FL studios because of the hype around it not knowing Logic is the only one that makes sense to especially since I used GarageBand a lot back in the day
🤣🤣🤣 so glad to be back.. for good!!! 😭🙌🏾
Yeah I agree , studio one finally came through with the drums
I like studio one for making beats, I use impact, what does logic currently have. I’m use to the mpc or machine type workflows but I don’t see that logic has anything like this.
Logic has it all...even a built in MPC
Logic has the new Drum Machine Designer. Check out my video on how to build drum kits: ruclips.net/video/l8zL4rl3ahQ/видео.html
Welcome to back family logic gang!!!!
Ayeee lets go!!!
Lol it's cool it's cool S1 gonna miss you. 😂😂 Its all about that workflow though 💪🏾
Lol!! I gave it my absolute best shot lol!
Yezzir glad you came back lol
Man good to be back lol!!!
Studio one in many respects does its own thing. Finding the workflow that works as with any daw.
Thats facts!!
Subbed
Thanks a lot for sharing and subbing!!! Much appreciated!!!
I admit it,Logic Pro X has the best VST Instrument ever
But i still use studio one 5 pro and i really fast with the workflow
Wlcm backkk!!!❤️❤️😆😆
LOL Thank you!!!
Hahaha.... I switched to studio one with you oo but it's fine... let's go back to our first love
😂😂😂😂AW SNAP!! YEAH... Come on home lol!!!!
My choices Logic-Cubase and FLStudio for sound design.
Excellent choices!
Dude you are killing me, LMAO!
LMBO!!!!!!!!!! Yo I gave S1 my best shot 😂
1) Set up macro -> done
2) nobody buys a DAW for it's sounds, unless he's a very "special" kind of person
edit: i acknowledge the general superiority of logic's built in synths etc. though.
3) mixing workflow in s1 is the easiest and overall most convenient i've come across in any daw i've ever used, and that contains a solid couple of years of using both cubase and logic respectively as my main DAW.
Very familiar with the Macro system! VERY DOPE! Gotta rock with what what works best!
All facts brother 😎
Work flow besides.. the taste test or hearing test is sound quality the math behind the 33 floating bit and just logics audio processing is way better then any DAW…
I know how to get Studio One up and running right away to record and Pro Tools I know how to drop my files in it and start going to work. We all have that quick access thing with our workflow that’s how that works out!!
Exactly!!! Clients don’t care about what DAW you use. They just want to get work DONE! The faster with quality, the better!
Custom macro could have helped the duplicate track issue. But I here ya tho
You can score in studio one also. 😇😇
@@jamarharrison4740 True but don't you have to open another app to do that? In logic it's just a key command away. Moreover, I can create lyric sheets, lead sheets.....etc.
@@1masterfader you had to score in notion before v5 but now it's built in, and you can still work with notion as well 😊👍🏾💯
One feature that killed Logic Pro: changing project speed just change bpm. You can’t do it without dancing with tambourine
i also have gone back to logic from Studio one.
This is so VALIDATING! Thank you so much for sharing!!!
Logic has the easiest Midi ever!!
Reasons has the best digital patch bay ever.
I have both LPX and S1 on my Mac. Both have merits. I prefer S1 for large orchestral work.
Thats super dope!!!!
We are some spolied music makers..i come from analog/hardware racks..music got done without what most of yall need now 😂😂😂😂
Can't you set it up to be takes?
It's a little different approach... It's a workflow thing... I wish I had the time to really dive into the Studio One way, but I'm at point in my career where I need to work fast with quality. Just made more sense to switch back in the end.
Sorry I haven't been on logic since 5 on pc. That's when they broke my heart and abandoned us on pc.
If you switch you'll never look back
Production...LOGIC-----------Mixing...PRO TOOLS. Forever.
I tried personus too for couple months but been using logic since logic 9...the muscle memory, work flow, and shortcut...had to go back to Logic Pro
Ayee you already know what it is lol!!!
Welcome back home bro 😂😂😂😂
So good to be back 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Man You just saved me some money👏🏾👏🏾
MAN LISTEN LOL!!!!!!!!
Plus I thought arranger view got that?
It's a specific pro tools function that I've built my career on. 99% of my gospel clients need radio edits fast and unfortunately I just didn't have the time to figure out a whole new work around in S1.
Well done
👊🏾💥💥💥
The best is switching to Cubase the best of logic and the best of studio one
I do everything in Protools... make the beat , record vocals, mix etc.......
Now that's DOPE! illmind produces his beats in pro tools like it's nothing!
You packed your bags and left then realized you ain have no food and came back💀
Starving bro 😂😂😂😂
@@Yhuntermusic 😂😂😂
You just didn’t take the time to learn studio one lol Take a while to switch from daws but I will say logic stock sounds has it beat. But there are some upsides in studio one like having melodyne integrated and the macros you can make are insane both are great stick to the one you kno bless 🙏🏾
Lol and I wish I had the time… Clients/Brand deals are coming in HOT and I gotta be confident in my workflow.. Logic it is 🤣
True, I've been through a few DAW and ended up on studio one, but took me some time, I kept bouncing between the 2 daws until I was familiar enough in studio one to be confident in my work, especially when dealing with clients. Stick with what's best for you and makes sure you keep the lights on 💯👍🏾🙏🏾
Studio One is really really good but I understand I know people who love Logic Pro X
I left ultimately to do what I do well. If it means using 2 DAWS instead of 1, so be it. No one can ever tell me what works best for me...
I wanted to use Logic, but no Mac, so Cubase is my goto.
Ahh dang.. I hear you!!!!!
Welcome home my Pl Son!! lol JK.. Dope contentent bruh!!!
LOL!!! Thanks a lot!!
Did you feel like you return to your home sweet home when switching back to your known DAW? 🤩🏡
Oh I sure did!!!
