I'm a self taught drummer and a hopelessly shy introvert. I remember how completely terrified I was playing in front of people for the first time. I never really got over that, and my safety shields were the drumkit in front of me, my hats and sunglasses, and being situated towards the back of the stage, and I clung to that comfort zone like a baby Koala. Luckily, I had 3 great, flambouyant, very talented bandmates in front of me to draw the attention off me. They understood my weirdness, and never pressured me to do anything except my job back there. Eventually I overcame the stagefright, but still needed my shields onstage. People would come up to me after gigs to say I did a good, and I hold them and those fleeting magic moments onstage deep in my heart. I'm so appreciative of those experiences. THANK YOU Brendan for these drum cam videos, they take me back to my playing days, where I was in the back happily holding it down for my mates, peering out between my cymbals at a happy audience, and having a blast in my own little space.
Always said Purdie and >Jeff porcaro were my favourite drummers Now there are one more at the number one spot in my book. Awesome Brendan. Just awsome and Beyond... thank you thank you thank you, for giving all this joy!
Great beats / great videos. THanks for showing us the drummer-view. Brendan I chatted with your dad a few times at the video store I worked at in Landing/Hopatcong. Super nice guy - & as I am a drummer he was happy to tell me stuff about you and I was jolly to hear it all. :)
Very impressive beat feel and tempo leadership. All of that, with minimum effort put into the movements. Must be hard reach this self control level in a gig of this size.
Student of Tommy Igoe and it shows. Great discipline and control. Tasteful drummer who knows when he is playing behind Shakira in front of thousands of people, it’s not about him.
Hey Brendan! Are you the only one who has click in their in-ears or does the rest of the band have it too? Just discoverd your channel, fantastic performances!!
Hi Brendan! How is your click set-up so that you can take directions from the boss and immediately go from 97bpm to 91bpm then straight into 138bpm without adjusting the click volume?? I mean is that 97bpm click just ticking away in your ear-monitors while you very nicely groove away with the band?? Great shots btw, thanks for sharing, really inspiring.
David Carbonnel the first couple grooves are just improvised between Shak & me (without click). The click comes in during the intro of the slow reggae version.
Brendan Buckley How does the click come in during the slow reggae part? Do you trigger it? If so, how? Can we see you trigger it in this clip? Great performance as per usual, always a pleasure to watch, keep it up!
There is a lot of responsibility here on Brendan... I admire your organization. How many run throughs ( weeks/months) of this show does it take to be completely be on top of it all before a tour? Ps: #EmpoweredPercussion is my cajon company if you need a sexy sounding drum. #ContourCajon ♡
That click is the pulse of most of the show. I'm sure it's worked into the lighting cues, effects, and all kinds of other shit during the show that has nothing to do with the drummer.
I'm a big fan of John Bonham, but all he that had to look at was Robert Plant's bony ass. Any guy who can play like you do without getting distracted by Shakira's backside is my hero.

Yes, the highest level is control after you've mastered everything. Simplicity is beauty

@@BrendanBuckleyDrums Well of course it had to be that simple!!! Thanks Brendan! :)

Yes!!
Really one dislike! This shits far too tight, all styles covered, perfect 👌🏻
Very good fill at 0:16
Thank you!
Poxa.... Podia ter deixado até o fim 🥲

Man is on par with sugarfoot😍🔥
Do you record audio that is coming to your in-ears, or main L&R? For me it sounds and looks like it can't be cameras own audio.
I believe the audio was a mix of camera mic and front house mix.
@@BrendanBuckleyDrums Thanks for the response! Great sound!
Yo quería ver a Shakira tocando!
Hey man, are you always on a click? Great playin my man!
Worldfamous4444 not always! I’d say about 85% of the show.
That click is the pulse of most of the show. I'm sure it's worked into the lighting cues, effects, and all kinds of other shit during the show that has nothing to do with the drummer.
Worldfamous4444 not always. for the song, the click comes in during the slow reggae portion.
For non-drummers... what's "on a click" mean?
@@gumsguey Its the tempo of the song. You hear it in your ears and it keeps everybody on time.
Sad that you can't show your full skills drumming but you show amazing tempo and timing which is hard for some drummers to achieve.
Pensé que era mujer !!..
Equidad 🙌✌️
sabroso ueeeepaaaaajeee
You are really good bro. Subscribe for you and take care!
