  • Find out what to do in Universal Studios Japan at the all-new Super Nintendo World. I tell you exactly how to get the most out of your trip with 7 INSANE tips! Just in time for Super Nintendo World Hollywood :)
    0:00 Super Nintendo World Intro
    1:03 Tip 1: Go on a Weekday
1:52 Tip 2: Buy the Express Pass EARLY
3:28 Tip 3: Run to the area before Area Passes are needed
4:09 Tip 4: Get the Area Pass
    5:53 Tip 5: Buy the Power-Up Band
7:16 Tip 6: One person lines up for lunch
8:15 Tip 7: Ride Mario Kart Single Rider
Super Nintendo World, is a location in which your virtual childhood becomes a full-on reality.
While Universal Studios Japan has created probably the most creative, interactive, and detailed park area you've ever seen, you will need to be fully prepared in order to experience a full on emersion. After this video, you'll not only have the tips to skip those long lines, but also understand the ins and outs of the World to get a full-on experience.
Now let's start with the easiest tip.
    Go on a weekday.
    Buy the express pass early
Now USJ, similar to Disneyland has something called the express pass. Simply it's a pass that allows you to skip the lines of specific rides one time.
The prices for the Super Nintendo World ride-inclusive passes start at a cost of 100 dollars. That's right, I said starting at. The entrance to the park is 84 dollars. Adding an express pass for 100 dollars more seems excessive. And that's just the start. If you wait until the last minute, or if the park is estimated to be crowded, then the price will rise. To summarize this tip though, if you want to have that relaxation of not rushing and you have kids, get the pass early. Otherwise, tip 3
Try to get to the area before area passes are needed
Area passes are essentially your way of reserving a spot in the park at a specific location. Usually given out for locations that get super crowded or populated. Think of them as that Disneyland ride passes. Minus the ride.
Now, why would this be a tip? Because tip 4 is
    Grab an area pass immediately
See, tip 3 allows you to go to Super Nintendo World twice, the area anyways.
In order to grab an area pass, you need the USJ app. Make sure your tickets are scanned into the app and simply go to the area listed as Super Nintendo World. There should be a listing of times to enter the area. Reserve one of the times and simply wait to go in. Once you reserve, you can Explore the rest of the park until it is your time to go in. Now note, you can only do this once. So make sure you plan accordingly. Once you go in, you should not plan on leaving until you absolutely want to say goodbye to Mario. Being that this is the process, they aren't actually kicking you out, so it only gets more and more crowded throughout the day. A suggestion is to reserve an early pass. Now with all these tips out the way, let's get into the juicy stuff!
Tip 5 buy the power up band
When you enter Super Nintendo World, you have the option to buy this band that will allow you to interact with blocks, games, and enemies. At a cost. 40 to be exact. You can take the band, connect it to your app, and collect stamps, keys, coins, find hidden items, and compete with others on the leaderboard daily. Honestly the mini-games that you can play and the hidden amount of items and stamps takes this theme park location, into a virtual reality gaming station. You literally will forget you are at USJ. But with alas you are at a theme park and you do need to eat, and Nintendo World really only has one location to eat, so plan ahead and follow tip 6
Which is have one person line up for food. Now this line is long. Like an hour of waiting. But there is a quick trick. Have one person line up. You can simply go walk to the exit, which is on the right of the entrance, and walk around to meet up your friend. Easy as that.
    The Final tip.
    Ride Mario Kart, single rider.
Let me explain. Mario Kart the ride is a must-go for the full-on experience. It's a virtual reality racing ride in which you score points by turning your wheel and hitting enemies with your shells. A fun and competitive ride. Now it's understandable if you want to ride with your friends to compete against each other. That's why you play the game. But because it's VR, you don't really interact or see your other competitors. But even more, the wait time for this ride is upwards of more than 2 hours. When we were here, the wait was 110 minutes.
But this is where you can break the system. The single rider line was 30 minutes. And honestly, it felt like much less. That's 4 times less the wait time. You can ride 4 times in the span of the wait of the regular line. And the best part?
You can still compete with your friends by comparing scores and checking out the stamps obtained on the app. By far the most fun we had. And even more so, if you get lucky, you can ride together sometimes.

After visiting both Nintendo Worlds in Japan and Hollywood, I feel that both parks are better in their own ways.
In Japan, there is a lot more different activities to do, with more variety of different foods that are way better than Hollywood's Toadstool Cafe (Except for the Burgers, Hollywood does them better), they also have their own unique headbands which japan's headbands are better, while hollywood's shirts and hats are better. And rides like Mario Kart, compared to Hollywood, takes less time to line up for than in Hollywood. If you are lucky, you can get in to Japan's Nintendo World as early as 7:30am in the morning.
However, unlike Hollywood, there are some days where you MUST book a Timed Entry Ticket (Virtual Line) in order to get to the park, and sometimes you must go to a specialized kiosk to book them. Meeting mascots (except Toad) is much stricter, due to the fact that unlike Hollywood, you are not allowed to have your phone to take pictures with mascots, you must stand in a specific position when you meet mascots, you must pose how the mascot poses for pictures, and you must pay 6000 yen for pictures.
While in Hollywood, it's just you interacting with the mascot, the staff are allowed to use your phone for picture taking, and you are allowed to greet the mascots with how you like to greet them (plushies).
When I met Peach in Japan, the line takes longer compared to Hollywood (30 minutes in Japan). And she would just interact with the staff member every time and only interact with me based on what the staff tells her to do for the first 30 seconds of the meet and greet to fill in that time. When I even tried to greet her with my plushies, she just ignores them.
When I met Peach in Hollywood the line is way shorter (2-15 minutes), and she is even willing to get to know more of my different plushies, and with Toadette being her favourite, she would always be happy to hold her and hug her for the picture-taking. The meet and greet is straight to the point and no nonsense.

Thank you for these! Definitely one of the best tips on here that I have watched! I won’t be able to do single rider because I have a little kid with me lol! Do u suggest to do Mario Kart as the first ride to do once we enter? Thank you!

Definitely go for Mario Kart as early as possible. The other ride, Yoshi's Adventure, is a much more reasonable line. So you can do that afterwards.

Thanks for the informative video. I do have a question. If I buy the park entry ticket WITH an area pass for Nintendo World through Klook, will I be able to get an additional area pass from the USJ app once I'm at the park?

Do you know which merch shop inside Super Mario World have the power up band? In the recent video I saw from other park goers there's a long line for those carts outside of the world. I want to get into the area asap when the park first open.

Hi there, I be at USJ on March 13 (Monday) not sure will it be crowded ... I bought the ticket online and didn't realize there is a advance booking of timed ticket.. I've check the park will be open at 8.30am and we plan to be there early (with kids) ... In your experience, what are the chances that we will not be able to obtain a Area Timed entry ticket to the Super Nintendo World? I'm so worry to get disappointed with my kids if we can't enter SNW

    • @mikie0307
      @mikie0307  Год назад +1

If you end up going at 8:30, when the park opens, just go directly to SNW. As long as you go there first thing, you should definitely be able to get some timed entry tickets. Arrive a bit before 8:30, when we were there, they let us in before opening time. 👍

Yes you can visit but you'll have to make sure you get there early to get a timed entry ticket. But if you want to guarantee you get in without worrying about rushing to get the entry ticket, you can purchase another pass (express pass)
