Purple icon is a "payload" ... which contains rare loot. It appears occasionally during collapse, but I've had one crash right in front of me while casually driving. So, higher chance of appearing during collapse, but can appear at random any time.
"No stable exits" just means no gateways. As long as you have junctions to travel to beyond them, you can keep going. Only worry if the junction says "DEAD END." You will have to die to exit those junctions.
I am wondering, may be that scanning of the route issue is about the antenna on the roof of the safe garage place? There might be a zone thing, antenna may be is not powerful enough to scan beyond a specific distance or sth? I can not remember if we upgraded it or not though, it is upgradable as far as I know.
We did upgrade that, but I think it gave me 3 scanner charges instead of just 1. My instinct was also range but that board generally confuses me. User error, perhaps
It definitely gets hair-raising when the red storm overtakes you. And that purple zoomy thing was... worrying.

Rear right side rack, front left side rack, my OCD is not okay with this.
