You saved me a lot of time. Thank you. My new 48v controller has the third smaller wire with the main battery positive and negative.
My work around is to house the red wires in one screw terminal and the bla k in the other …then connect to battery.
Screw housing terminals gives easier access for future modifications.

@@InfiniteLaboratory huh? In your video you said if you don’t have an ignition/electric lock that you can twist the two red wires together and bypass instead of using an ignition/key/electric lock. You mentioned this twice in your video. Did I miss something?
I actually got my ebike wheel rotating combining the two red wires. But, I noticed that my controller is heating up really fast. Getting hot really fast just testing throttle and wheel. Should I be concerned?
My battery is 36v 500w 20ah and my controller is 48v 20ah. Is this safe? I have another 36v-48v controller which would be more of a match but I’m having problems getting the motor to turn with that controller. I read somewhere that I may have to switch around the motor phase wires and Hall sensors wires to make it work for my bike because there is no industry standard on making sure blue, green, and yellow phase wires match exactly.
Just glad I was able to turn the motor today. Hopefully you have some insight for me. Frustrating but really enjoy the process of learning. Thanks for help.

@@robertmotion connecting two red or giving positive supply to boty red is same thing.
In onw case you are giving with saperate wire and in another you are giving with same wire to both.
Also heating of motor can be possible due to wrong battery selection if your motor and controller are 36v you need 36v battery.
If your motor Controller are 48v than you need 48v battery.
Some controller works on 36 as well as 48v volt. In that case you will need battery voltage as per motor voltage. If motor is 36v operated battery should have 36v . Ans respectively if 48v .

Hi, I try to us a different kind of controller, - not the one which was included into the kit. So, this is 1000 W, 48VDC motor, and 1000 W, 48-72VDC controller. The bike speed box control cable has two connectors that supposed to be connected with controller: one with yellow, green, black, blue and red wires (5 wires); second one with white, brown and black (connected to black of the first connector). The controller has throttle line connector with red, green and blue wires and some other connectors which may be used (i suppose): High level plug, Low level plug, three-speed plug. So, how to connect this cable to the controller? Also, how to connect two brake wires to the controller? Thank you!!!

can you explain display cable or phase meter cable and how to use this cable. i assume cable is for rpm monitoring, but how to implement?
My 48 VDC, 1800 watt BLDC Controller (BY12WF02-C) has a 2-pin connector, Brown/Green that is for reversing motor direction. What do I do to that connector to reverse direction? Apply 12 VDC? 48 VDC? Shorting it does nothing. Thanks!

Yes..you can use higher ampere controller for motor.. just need to check voltage.
If your motor and controller both have 24v. Than controller can be selected higher side ampere.
Also..
Never use controller with lower watt rating than motor.
Here your motor is 150 watt and controller is 350 watt so its perfectly fine to go with this combination.

Regenerativ controllers are available in market... arduino is a project thing not a production material...

Can the motor work properly even without connecting the Hall sensor wires ?
Something can go wrong if I connect only the battery and the throttle + controller ?
Nothing can go wrong if you connect motor controller throttle and battery
Some controller and motor combination are capable to work without hall sensors but with hall sensors you motor will have good starting torque and errorless working

Everything is going OK.

I showed in that video that the engine can work with the Hall sensor and without the Hall sensor.
In fact, the only change I've noticed is that when I connect the Hall sensor, the LEDs / lights on the wheel come on.

Yes sir, Some intelligent controller supports without hall effect sensor also. you need to connect only motor phases.

@@InfiniteLaboratory I ended up experimentings with the high and low breaking it turns out high and low only cuts power to the motor.
So I guess the question I should have asked is do these controllers have electric braking? I am not talking about regenerative braking. And thank you for your response

@@michaeldurden8254 there is no electric breakings. but low break cuts only power but wheel will be moving until u apply mechanical breaks or have kinetic energy,
while high breaks will work when you give 12V positive in it,
it will cut the supply as well as try to stop motor using electrical traction and Back Emf.
this high break features may very as per company of controlller, some says it high break but that also works same like low.

I have repaired my controller from a shop. But after connecting when I push throttle the wheel of the bike blocks like brake. It try to run, but something blocking. Why? Is there any solutions? May I alter the phases of wires?
try to check all the connections first, Specially motor phase and hall sensor,
than if there are self learning wires, short them for a while and release them quickly, keep wheel holding/fitted as it will run,
if this dont solve the issue try to interchange phases.

There is a 48v to 12v dc converter, which gets connected to direct battery..
What is hi brake function, low brake function 12 volt supply, I’ve never heard of it ? I’ve heard of braking using the motor , what is this and how is it set up via the wiring?
High brake means it needs to hive high potential, like 12v,48v etc for braking.
Low brake means it needs to bring potential at 0 (zero) means , wire will be connected to the ground.

How to use low brake and high brake
for low break two wires are there, short them and it will stop your motor slowly.
for high break you will have one wire, you need to provide 12V positive on high break wire , it will stop your motor like emergency switch

hello, check your battery is fully charged or not, if battery is ok, check all the controller connections, specially motor wires, if all wires are ok than controller internal component must have damaged

@@InfiniteLaboratory controllers are always programmable even drone ESC are too i have done flashed a drone esc but i want to do the same for controller but the controller i have has a different microcontroller named ST08S something but ESC has atmega and i need to read the chip first and im not familiar with ST08S
im not sure but different controllers may have different microcontrollers too
@@harsimransingh7735 all the controllers don't come with RS485 port so not possible to program them. Only some good companies provide it.
If yours have programable communication port you can ask compatible software to the supplier and you can reprogram parameters
