    As someone who's been in a few 'Rumbles on the indies, the only direction/planning given or come up with backstage was:
    1. Who/if you're going to eliminate
    2. Who/how you'll be eliminated (more importantly when)
    3. A spot (maybe two) you'll do when you enter
    Usually when you first get in guys will let you get some heat, take some bumps or just make you look strong/fresh. There's (at least in my cases) a lot of freedom. I normally would go at one specific person, which could also set up matches in the future, since I was never booked to win a rumble.

    I wish there were more interconnecting micro-storylines flowing within the Rumble. Rather than have guys cuddle, give every character an individual strategy and in-match arc, and then build the “background stuff” around those individual strategies and arcs colliding. Like yes, improv is great and a huge part of wrestling, but it just feels like so many people go into the match with no plan other than the generic “imma half heartedly tug at someone in the corner for a bit”

      That's why the 1992 Rumble is the best ever. Yeah the story was Flair but it involved everyone, working with friends and reluctantly working with enemies. Sure, Heenan's commentary just increased it but seeing him and Piper working together and Heenan saying "It's not a skirt, it's a kilt" then saying the opposite when Piper turned on Flair was everything. The one time the Rumble felt like what it should be, friends and enemies working together when it helps themselves out for a common goal.

    Some good points. What I'd want to see more is sneaky heels trying to be tactical and avoiding being in the ring instead of staying there for the rests, arguing with refs telling them to go back in. Its harder to coordinate but even one can provide valuable distraction from the shit that's going on in the corners. Or guys could rest actively tying guys down for example to keep known tag team dudes separated when one is doing a spot with someone, that's three guys for one corner rest for a reason. A few all around weapon wipeout spots would indeed give more sensible rest spots but not too many, I'm sick of the word "kendo stick" already.

    • @RazorFangs90

      Ideally the RR should be like 90% carefully planned and coreographed, however that would require all the involved wrestlers to start rehearsing as soon as the previous Rumble ended, which would mean not rehearsing for any other PPV, and they already suffer from lack of creativity (probably because there are way too many PPVs already).
      Therefore it should be heavily centered on personal feuds just like it's been already said, which would eventually spill into other competitors' struggles in the whole event.
      The Royal Rumble can't by design be the resolution of any feud, but it can be the catalyst for many new ones, or the transitioning chapter between one stage of a pre-established feud to the next, more intense one.

    • @ydin9
      @ydin9 Год назад

      @@RazorFangs90 You can never rely on a plan 100%, plans got a habit to breaking at some element. A lot of Rumble is improv and patching for mistakes that happened. Like Kofi splatting his head on the announcers table.
      And its not the first RR to have weak spots but this one had such an abundance of corner sleepers.
      RR doesnt have to be perfect but tweaked better.

    • @RazorFangs90

      @@ydin9 well, i wanna say part of the reason why things go south is specifically because they are less prepared than they could be, on the other hand, a bad spot is always behind the corner.
      But that's why i stressed out why it's even more specifically important to put it on a feud/angle perspective, without shying away of mixing them as well, after all it's a royal rumble.
      And yes, weapons would help immensely.

If youre not one of the stars its like you have no agency and are basically a cuddle mannequin. It seems like such an entertaining idea for a spectacle that could have almost infinite spots is being poisoned by the fact that its in the form of wrestling and someone always needs to get over. Cant have a young heel come in with 1 bat and start battering everyone because then the mid carders will need to top that and so forth.

    For how much you understand about wrestling, it's sad that you know so little about wrestling. And the sadness is that none of it is your fault - its WWF and WCW's faults. Pro wrestling died at least 30 years ago. The word "choreography" shouldn't come within 6 industries of pro wrestling. Matches should be at least 95% improvised. It LOOKS fake because it's not REAL, how it used to be. The wrestlers determined moves, not a guy in an earpiece. Guys weren't afraid to hurt one another because they knew how dangerous they were. Pro wrestling is not micromanaging every single camera angle to get every single kino shot and every single "WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN?!?" moment out of every single match. Pro wrestling has always been real with pre-determined finishes. WWE today is fake tits. Real pro wrestling is all natural, not the easiest, most-pleasant thing to look at. Matches are booked, not written or scripted. Promos are interviews, not scripts. Babyfaces are not chosen by the company, but by the people's reactions. Wrestlers get themselves over, they are not put over.
    Only when society is comfortable in believing pro wrestling is real will it live once again. And yes, I've been the change I want to see in the world. I've made pro wrestling real in some teeny tiny small sense. It can be done.

    Let's answer your complaint:
    So you want 12 guys sitting down and watching the action go by? Does that make sense? You want nonstop weapons and mayhem EVERY time? Because that worked out for a similar company. You want the "hug humping" to stop? So just realistically as soon as someone is in, get them out or reverse and toss the other one out? Only 4 people max would be in the ring at a time. If you try to look at wrestling realistically, you arent going to enjoy it at all. It DOES have to make sense, but in its own realm of existence. You can't apply real world logic to wrestling at all. You should know that.

    • @deadpoolnerd
      @deadpoolnerd Год назад

      Well he's just saying instead of filler corner humping if you need filler guys for the rumble at least give them something a bit more interesting to do. And using the 2000 rumble as an example they had the hardcore championship in the match so there was a hardcore segment to the rumble where those guys got their stuff in and switched back into the central stories you wanted to hit. So he's saying to try and give these guys a little something more to do.

    • @Y2Jerms

      @deadpoolnerd if you give EVERYONE something to do, you'll never see any of it. You might catch things 1 and 2, but watching those, you missed 3 and 4 and had no idea 5 and 6 even happened. Thats the problem.
      On top of that, as much as I LOVE the hardcore title when it was around, they are still pg. They still edit head shots on their RUclips uploads. The sponsors and possible networks won't allow that much chaos all at once. Plus, from their point of view, it diminishes weapons for when they use them in other matches. Similar to how most finishers aren't finishers anymore.

    • @deadpoolnerd
      @deadpoolnerd Год назад

      @Y2Jerms but as in something more interesting. Like in the match sheamus and drew hitting the beats together or getting in on beating someone with Gunther. Little character quirks you go oh cool they're doing this different.

    • @Y2Jerms
