My aunt and uncle had a Hyacintha Macaw for years. He was given to them by an owner that had no time for him. He barely had any feathers and was in sad shape. It didnt take very long for him to recover and fully regain his beautiful feathers. Everybody that met him fell in love with him. His name was Magoo. He had a large vocabulary and was absolutely stunning like this bird. Many hearts were broken when he passed on. He is an unforgettable big guy and his memory remains in many of our hearts.
"Woe-is-me bird." That's my umbrella cockatoo in a nutshell. He so much as gets a little water in his eyes during a shower, and he acts as if I have to take him to the ER vet. XD
OMG same with mine. there was one time he was chewing up an electric razor so I chased him and he flew downstairs with a bit of a hard landing. Then he acted as if he's ABOUT TO DIE, eyes closing, couldn't stand, etc...we all got so worried and then suddenly he nipped me HARD and then got better XD
They're on the endangered species list because people keep buying them and they keep being taken from their natural habitat. I think it would be cheaper to start a breeding program rather than have them being exported from one country to another
If. Many people don't buy from breeders because they're expensive. But at the same time, it's also easier to find it on the black market than to find a breeder.
lyraface Most vets now only do cats and dogs. What he means is a real vet does every animal, not just cats and dogs. At least that is what the vet oath states.
they're very strong birds with powerful fairly sharp beaks, he probably just didnt like it and was trying to take it away. The vet pulled on it back and through the force snapped it
also remember not all of them are really pets. Since it is a reality show during slow times they bring in "fake" pets to make the show more enjoyable/exciting, just like pawn stars brings in actors and fake "pawn" items to give you something to watch. Gives some education and entertainment.

I fell in love with these birds after meeting the sweetest macaw at a bird sanctuary in British columbia years ago. He flew onto my shoulder and didn't want to get off, when I had to eventually leave I had to have someone coax him off while I ran for it because he kept flying back onto my shoulder everytime I tried to leave.
Perfect name for this beautiful creature. Can’t imagine having such a large wild animal in your house. But he looks like he’s living a happy life. Beautiul thing.
Dejuh Vuh I agree I love birds I have two but I think these big parrots should be left in the wild. They are completely different than taking care of a small parrot like budgie or conure.
I personally prefer smaller birds because they are easier to take care of and they only live up to 50 years old. Big birds usuallu live up to 80 years.
Gorgeous macaw but RESPECT THE BEACK! They’re incredibly powerful and can certainly do a lot of damage. I have 2 macaws but they’re not hyacinths. And they’re not “starter birds”.
That beak can wreak a lot of havoc in someone's face. I had a parrot once, she was very agressive, this one is very calm. Impressed that he did not attacked the doctor.
Wow that bird is beautiful. Our bird would be telling you about everything and would be crazy. I have to edit his screaming out of my videos all the time. I’ve even had him in a video because he doesn’t like being recorded and that did not stop him from screaming.
I love how she talks to the birds. You can tell she loves her job
@Ollie Thompson why poor?
Who wouldn't love birds Stella? 🙂

I love hyacinth macaw faces. It looks like they've got a big dopey smile on their face.
Blood parrot ciclid also has that smile
I always notice that on cockatiels as well

When vets are real animal doctors, not just "vets".

lyraface wish it was the same as ur country, but here in the US there isn't many large, exotic, reptile practices anymore.
