I really don't understand why Star Wars doesn't have their own theme park. Listening to this I just pictured walking around a giant Star Wars park with this music playing at every corner.
I'll have this song played at my wedding day. I'll have it started and enter the church at a slow and elegant pace just as the strong part (1:08) starts... It will be epic.
rogermania They'll maybe do a slight tweak, or maybe something completely different and then switch to the original, like they did in the last Star Trek...
Fabulous sound mixing. I’m hearing details on this recording that I’ve never heard elsewhere, especially in the percussion. It’s like you’re right in the concert hall. Bravo.
+sparky10142 They played it a the UK premiere and myself and about 90 members of the 501st Legion paraded on the red carpet to it. I cry every time I hear this theme now :D
For everyone this is a (faster) throne room from star wars 3 ending titles ao after 2:55 it isnt arrangment of conductor or someone. You can (should) check this out
+The Crimson Cowl (Darth) World peace can be achieved, through war. If somebody conquers every other country, there will be no more war for as long as this "world empire" will survive.
Now, how does this work ? As an amateur musician myself, I know the basic rules. Minor key = sad. Perfect for when when Luke finds his Aunt & Uncle murdered. Very sad, don't mind admitting it bought a tear to my eye when I watched it so many years ago. But the exact same tune, played pretty much the same in the Throne Room, but with a different rhythm, suddenly it seems majestic and uplifting. Still in a minor key, so it should be sad, but it's not. Brilliant composing / arranging by Mr. Williams.
+Andrew Wheeler No. Minor keys doesn't always express sadness as well as major keys doesn't express always happiness too. I understand what you say but sometimes in music you have to forget that. This theme is different because of many things, for example: the percussion making a hard rhythm and marking the beat, the scene of the accolade that change the whole feeling, and the brass that gives you a very royal, strong sound, especially when accompianed with timpanis and other percussion. And later, at 1:38 the piece modulates to F major with the tonic, major third and fifth coming in respectively. I agree, Williams is an excelent composer, I admire what he gave to the films. Ps: Listen to the major chords in the 3rd movement of Prokofiev's Piano Sonata No. 7, preferably played by Sokolov. They don't exactly express happiness, especially when the piece is one of the "War Sonatas".
Terrific! I wish they had done the original ending though. I think the credits are the best part of the entire film- beside the original Fox Studio fanfare, of course.
The woman playing French horn with the Leia hairdo... Well played ma'am.
A little country like Iceland, less than half a million people, and one of the best symphony orchestras in the world.
John Williams is a genius.
I was lucky. We walked down the aisle to this amazing star wars music :)
+Viktória Illés You (and your husband) already WON at life. I bow to you both.

I loved the way it was recorded showing all orchestra at the same time, that's how it should be done with the original recordings of these events.
