In the 70s took ALL my cylinders off with the engine in the frame. Just raised the scooter with blocks under the stand removed the back spring. Never had a problem.
@ ask Russ at shed tune he deals with them, but I don’t think they are open until Friday. Get him to phone or something like that. They do phone back but only in England??
Happy New Year, Rob! Good video! Yeah, my TS1 with long rod makes it difficult to remove while in the frame unless I remove the head and the cylinder studs. So I mostly just pull the engine bolt and drop the front of the motor all the way down, supporting the engine case on a plank of wood. Hopefully I won't have to strip the top end any time soon.

@stevebgp200 yeah, I think they only phone UK numbers but I haven't given up yet. 😀
Martin Leech is Knowledge.
Yes I recall when he first made those brake cables.
Fantastic idea.
Happy New Year Rob all the best for 2025 👍
Am I right in saying that you’re going to get a Max Quattrini engine for your lammy because they are a thing of beauty
No. But I am going to build and fit a Quatrini in my S1 while I wait for my other engine.
I also take the engine out to do any serious work on it, I’m too old for grovelling on the floor 😀
Happy new year.

They come off easier if you remove the head separately
I NEVER work on the top end with the motor in the scooter. I find it soooo much easier having it up on the bench for pressure testing etc. ...
@kickbackgarage I do all my maintenance in the front garden so removing the engine, maybe not such a good idea
@@robertthomas1717 You sir, need a shed!
@@kickbackgarage if only I could afford one
Very helpful thanks
Happy New Year to you and family Rob.
Best to you all for 2025!
Rob. What’s the temp gauge set up? Under the plug type? Camera looked like it was something else. Happy New Year. Keep them videos coming. Love em 😊
It is an under the plug type but under a bolt the holds the head, not the plug. Works a treat
