Hi Jason. Love your videos and your excellent instructions. I’m 60 now. I was a builder of model aircraft in 1970-1974. I built a balsa box kit of a Mombo high wing 2 seater. Three channel radio with rudder elevator and throttle control. Your tutorials are top notch and helpful with my decision to take up this fine craft again. I’m a professional arborist now and I am finding more spare time to enjoy and apply my engineering skills. Keep up the great friendly channel content. Troy at Trojan Tree Care “Ensuring Future Growth” southern Ontario. Cheers mate.
I like build videos because they are really helpful with different build techniques and tips. There isn’t a lot of ppl building like before now it’s ARF,PNP,BNF models and I enjoy building so 👍🏽.
If you think a model turbine is well engineered, man those Turboprop's are at another level again! You must be pretty excited to be building this model? This will be a great series. Thanks Jonathan. Old Fashioned, ie done properly, can also be referred to as Traditional.
Thanks Murray! Yea the turbo props sure are cool! The magnification of thrust/push is also very neat! A Tiny Turbine when done up with a Turbo Prop can sure put out some force!
Although I'm not a jet guy, I enjoy each and every one of your videos...I've been building and flying R/C aircraft of all types, from foamy electrics to giant scale gassers, fixed wing, helo, glider, scratch built, plan built, ARF, for more than 40 years and still regularly learn from your building techniques and recommendations. Eagerly awaiting the progression of this latest project. Keep up the great work. Thank you.
Thanks! It was a huge time commitment and fun! I have been in some discussions with my friends and customers about another stick build like this in the future. Fun Stuff in the works!
Excellent! I am particulary looking forward to the laminating and painting videos as I am going to be doing something similar on my WIlga PZL-104 plane in couple of months
I look forward to this build. I have never built an ARF, only kits. I am currently working on a 1/5 scale cub and am glad to see that you are showing the kit building side of our hobby. Keep up the great work.
That's the start of a great build Jonathon!! You've really got your work cut out for you there!! Love the Turbo prop, can't wait for the next installment 👍😄
Cool! Its a bit too expensive for me but I already like this project also because of the turboprop you will put in. What a lot of parts! Just take your time. The fun part is the way to success, not the endresult ;-) . One thing you must overthink: I saw a (in Germany made) Porter with a turboprop engine with a prop of which the pitch can be adjusted. It makes the original sound, when it goes into feather, reverse or higher pitch settings. He made the special prop adapter himself. So you can not buy it. I am real Porter fan and designed my 2.20 cm span Zebra Porter. Now I am changing the design to make it more scale and will build it next winter 2021/2022. I subscribe!
Really looking forward to this build project, always had a soft spot for the porter, one of my favourites, please go as detailed as you can with as much info as you can, been building since I was little but we're never to old to learn something new 👍 love the channel 👍
As we go through this build if you have any suggestions or build tips to share, SHARE them in the comments below so others can see! Thanks for watching!
Looks like she's going to be a beauty! I've got my eye on MR Aerodesign 1/4 scale Beaver as my next big build. A Canadian company which is nice but also look to be very well designed kits
This is going to be fun! It’s going to be quite a bird. FYI, those turboprop engines cost between $3K and $4K USD, if anyone’s curious. I’m looking forward to hearing this one.
Hi Jonathan, Really can't tell the size until you see it up close. Were you giving a time frame to have the kit completed? Will be nice to hear that Kingtech Turboprop spool up for the first time. Stay safe.
The Pilatus PC 6 is one of those ugly duckling airplanes that I absolutely love. Fixing to get back on my project and finish it up as well ruclips.net/video/O8pkyoQ4ZzE/видео.html
HAHA! So True! When I first saw one of these things in person I thought to myself "That thing is UGLY!" Now the more I play and work with this thing, the more I like it. DANG IT!😂
Do all MR Aerodesign plans come with the instructions like that? And do you know if you can get the files to cut parts yourself? And a 3d model file to be able to create fiberglass parts that aren't provided or made
Hello Anthony. I'm not sure about the answers to those questions but if you reach out to Martin at MR Aerodesign he will be able to answer your questions.
@@thelightersideofrc might want to ask him about it, he's probably going to be disappointed with the 45, especially on floats. Looks like there is plenty of time to make the change.
@@pierrejoubert2073 For sure ! I'l may be have to do some modification to the fuselage to fit the new tail wheel bracket, but probably nothing big. I will be able to provide you the needed parts if it's the case...
Hi Jonathan. Hope you don’t mind some ideals, just video from above you. Like show the day you are building the wing .Maybe get Wife to help with a Live video of you building a step from the manual and she can take Questions! Last ask the owner to switch to Kevlar fiber could be lighter but Stronger. Jonathan when are you going have time working on Your Two Home. Please don’t make the little Wife mad! lol I can tell you stories! lol. Thanks Greg of Ohio
Hey Greg! Thanks for the great idea! I like that. The house is a bit on hold for now. There will be an update video coming out tomorrow morning. Thanks for watching!

Hey Don! She is a big plane! 120" Wing Span! My goal for the build is to have it ready for paint by end of February. So 5-6 Weeks.

the building of this plane i would love to see in detail.
Perfect! will do! Thanks for watching!
Very nice airplane. Looking forward to seeing more on it. Will you fit a glider tow hinge to it.
Not sure yet on the tow hook! Thanks for watching!
Since the engine is mounted backwards, does the exhaust make any thrust coming out
Great question! the exhaust blows forward and then sideways so no backwards thrust is generated.
👍❤️👍

Just do the K60 TP instead. The 45 will be underpowered with a plane like that and especially with floats and paint
