I had this 2 stage surgery 4 years ago due to FAP with APC mutation. It was a bit difficult for 6 months, then 2 years of excessive BMs throughout the day and night, but everything is okay now. BMs average 5 a day with not many at night and very minimal issues anymore. My advice to anyone facing this surgery is to eat good food, chew it very well, stay hydrated, and be patient. Our body's adapt to changes very well, but on their terms.
