I guess I don't understand why you would need a confusing plug in when SketchUp already does this stuff. If you import a DWG file, it important as a linked component. If someone wants to edit the DWG, then all you have to do on the component is select "refresh". If you make something a component in SketchUp and left click "save as" on the component, then you can save it out as a separate SKP file and someone else can work on it. This works great over a server system and an office can collaborate on a project at a very large scale.
you are right this is not very helpful when you just need to update the one or two components but as you know you can't reload multiple components at the same time. it's become very useful when you have more then 10 or 100 different files in one file with the help of this plugin you can update all just on 3 clicks. you can reload .skp but you can't reload DWG/DXF
Tutorials Up I guess I understand how that would be useful. It would have to be some very large projects across many softwares. I just wish we would see more professionals use SketchUp in their drafting.
When you add XREF cube to your new file, does the cube phisicaly exist in 2 places, or only in the original file, with a pointer to that location in the new file? I am asking in order to understand if this plugin can help to save files not be very large. For example, if I have a terrian in a file, and then I link to it xref of the building from another file, will the terrian file keep small, or will it be large as terrian + building?
In the presentation of the plugin the AutoCAD file is a 2D plan. Can this Plugin be used in 3D piping modeling done in AutoCAD and then generate 2D drawings in Sketchup? _________________________________________ Na apresentação do plugin o arquivo do AutoCAD é uma planta 2D. Esse Plugin pode ser usado numa modelagem 3D de tubulação feita no AutoCAD e dai gerar os desenhos 2D no Sketchup?
