Your 3-1/2 minute rant about Ginger is a classic moment in all reaction videos. You said b***h 22 times and "Oh my God" 8 times with your face buried in your hand. 😄 45:12
Not many people can pull off the pink salmon. But he did it with style and class. My two favorites were the silver shark skin suit and the red and black suit.
Scorsese directed the hell out of this one, that's for sure. The cinematography, the lighting, the editing.. everything is just so damn effortless. One of the quickest 3 hours you'll ever sit through.
The Irishman is better but different. Particularly the 2nd half of the Irishman that’s slow paced with little to No music is the best work Scorsese has ever done. DeNiro, Pacino and Pesci performances towards the end of that movie is just terrific. And we’re not distracted with CGI De-aging in the faces with the characters in the 2nd half. (DeNiro picking up the chili dogs/Pacino getting out of Jail) that scene Onward. The Irishman is the best.
Don’t forget “Taxi Driver”. No one has ever nailed the paranoid personality ( with psychopathic tendencies ) in a fiction work like this director. Even the pimp, as he’s using his slimy, charismatic “charm” on young Jodi Foster’s character….he “shows us” their disturbed inner cores.
He wasn't asking for her love. He asked for her respect and trust. But, he just didn't understand how tight a hold her pimp had on her. And she got on drugs and drank a lot. She just couldn't handle it. He could've chosen Anyone else and did Much better
Probably the most accurate mafia film based on facts instead of an ex gangster’s testimony. At the time of filming they didn’t know that Frank Rosenthal ( Sam Ace ) was actually an informant for decades. Also they didn’t know Tony ( Nicky ) was murdered in a basement then dumped at a farm. That came out in 2005 during the trial for his and his brothers murder
That's still one of the most brutal deaths I've seen in a movie. Beating their bones into gravel, stripping them down, and then burying them while they're still breathing. There's something jarring about that mentally, in addition to just the violent aspect. *shivers* Also, yes, Sharon Stone absolutely killed that role.
I used to wonder why every hit the mob guys did was at " easier" w/ a couple instant shots to the head so the person at least didn't know what hit them. I think Frankie was even tired of him. It's possible the boss's were angriest at niki for causing them the most problems plus he broke their big code about sleeping w/ another guys wife. I think its partially honor but mainly the risks it imposed on them. They had to worry about one guy they needed killing the other over it. Plus niki was there to protect ace not start banging his wife plus ace said they had enough of him. In the news which I'm sure they had to pay judges lawyers etc as he somehow escaped all his charges. Frankie looked so sick of him. Literally starting when niki was in the casino wasted throwing cards at the dealer Frankie has to sit there as niki goes wild. Thats gotta get tiring this crazy guy could get him killed as well plus lying to the boss's about nikis affair could get him killed. Im sure he did my even want to know about it.
The character of Sam "Ace" Rothstein was based off of real life casino boss Frank "Lefty" Rosenthal, who secretly ran the Stardust, Fremont, Marina, and Hacienda casinos when they were controlled by the Chicago Outfit. Nicky Santoro was based off of mob enforcer Anthony "The Ant" Spilotro, who was a high-ranking member of the Chicago Outfit in Vegas during the 70s and 80s. Still to this day this is probably my favorite Scorsese flick.
Joe pesci is an amazing and very underrated actor. Most people only think of him in mob movies but his range is way bigger than that. Look up the movie With Honors, The Super, Raging Bull, my cousin vinny or Gone Fishing. He can do comedy, and nonviolent dramas as well.
He started out as a comedian. His partner was none other than Frank Vincent. It’s rather hilarious when you know that, given how Scorsese always sets them on each other in his films.
There aren't many scenes from movies that have stuck in my head since a kid like that baseball bat scene and the eye pop in the vice😂 that's when I knew that life wasn't for me😂
My mom is a dealer in the movie. She worked at the Riviera, the main casino floor shots where done there, and got cast as a background extra. She even stopped a tiny mistake from happening, as she called out that a waitress had light beer on her tray (Light Beer would not have been around at the time, or so she told me). It was awesome to see this production, and a really good movie. Sharon Stone gave a hell of a performance. I pass by the store (now a furniture store) where the Hole-In-The-Wall gang (Nicky's crew, or Tony "The ANT" Spilotro ) robbed. Also pass by where Sam Rothstein (Frank Rosenthal) car bomb went off all the time. The lawyer that defends Frank for the Nevada Gaming Board is Oscar Goodman (Frank's real lawyer and became mayor of Vegas)
PS: I think the real DeNiro character was still alive until a few years ago. Imagine? It's amazing that he survived all that, but he wasn't a threat to the mafia anymore - and he knew how to stay quiet. Incredible story. Scorcese loved these stories because he grew up here in NY little-Italy, where a lot of mobsters were. But he was never one of them, he just dug the local history (which in this case was in the 1970's when all Vegas was mob-run). I just stayed away from the life because my Sicilian dad would have beat my ass and I was fond of living... lol! Must admit though, Vegas was much more fun in those days. As always JL, God bless you man, you always crack me up (lol).
The character played by Smothers, the commissioner who immediately called for a vote to deny Ace’s license, was supposed to be based on Harry Reid, who became a senator from Nevada.
I just recently started watching your reactions and I’ve loved every single one of them. Everything you had to say about Ginger is exactly what I feel and probably most everyone else watching. Awesome reaction!
Cool trivia on this movie. the conversations between DeNiro and Pesci were mostly all improv. they were given some direction as to where the conversation should go or how it should end. but how they got there was up to them and their improv skills.....pretty cool
*Tony Spilotro is the Chicago Outfit wiseguy Nicky is based from. Go look at side by side. Tony was also like 5'3", they look pretty close, especially when Pesci put the gray streak in his hair. His defense Lawyer was Oscar Goodman, Saul Goodman from BBad and Better Call Saul is based on Oscar Goodman who later became Las Vegas Mayor of 3 or 4 terms I think. Represented many wiseguys in court.
Joe Pesci started out as a standup comedian. He’s as great at comedy as he is drama. His first major film role was in Scorcese’s Raging Bull (another must watch) but he was doing comedy roles like Leo Goetz in the Lethal Weapon film series before Home Alone. DeNiro can be very funny too. I loved him in Midnight Run.
That live burial scene burnt into my memory when I watched this as a little kid. Not much scares me, particularly in movies, but the thought of being buried alive like that with your brother is kinda horrifying.

James Woods character reminds me of my late mom’s boyfriend. What a slime bag. He was married and a coke addict. Same as the character. I finally saw that movie as some critics in the 90s weren't crazy about it but I recall when it was over loving her character. It was a good movie. I think b/c stone was so great in the huge hit basic instinct critics were not into a string of her movies. Sliver which I've never seen got destroyed. I'd say her best acted role was this. She also looked flawless b4 she had to look downhill. To be honest other than that short hair she still looked great. Scorsese is such a great director & did amazing w/ the clothes & her makeup. Loved the outfits how they matched the times going on. Had to be 70s & early 80s given how old amy got. Started around the time he met ginger she's gets pregnant married & by the end amy looks to be around 9.
Been missing the premieres lately amigo...I'm sorry.😖 Personally I miss the Vegas of the 80's. And like others have shared...you gotta watch the Departed and Gangs of New York...Shutter Island too while you're at it. Much love😊💚
@JL This is why I tell everyone Joe Pesci is one of the best actors of all time, great at drama, can intimidate on screen, great timing in comedy's. Was a treat to see you watch this beloved classic
“You don’t hear them kids giggling while she’s talking?” What’d you have for lunch?” “Dick” 💀Dying lol. The real people are Frank Rosenthal and Tony Spilotro. There’s a few documentaries on them if you want the real story cause although it’s based on true events there’s quite a bit of hyperbole done for dramatic flare. Great movie nonetheless and hilarious reaction bro love it
And "Silence" which surely is one of his most intersting works. But a history drama about missionaries in ancient Japan isn´t comparable to the usual crime dramas Scorcese makes. Nevertheless a great movie!
Love your videos; without a doubt the realest man on RUclips showing us a good time, with good films, and his pure genuine self. Love to you and your copilots. A lot of the outfit from the mafia that was in Las Vegas was from the Chicago area. Deniro’s character Ace Rothstein‘s real name was Frank “Lefty” Rosenthal, born and raised in Chicago. My father ended up doing HVAC work for the nephew, and he got told some stories that would send your spine into the freezer. The nephew also smokes phat blunts, dude had a mason jar of weed in his kitchen cabinet lol.
So they done pissed you off😆, yes good Movie. Pissed me off when Corporates blew up the whimsical Vegas. I could tell you all the delicious and very inexpensive food was. I missed the Casino, they blew up😣. Thanks for sharing 🧚🏽♂️💫

Unfortunately talking normally is gone since words keep changing thanks to unelected freaks messing with languages to destroy society
In every movie he's in, Joe Pesci is always throwing monkey wrenches into everyone else's plans.
He's a little chaos demon 😈
I can't think of any examples where he's not doing that!
nah , he was cool in raging bull, actually he was the victim in the situation

You need to watch Scorsese's Cape Fear. De Niro was CRAZY in that one.

@MovieswithKennyK it was one of the most disturbing scenes I've ever seen too. It haunted me so much I swore I'd never watch it again.
I’ve always been amazed that Nicky could peel out in his car on the sand in the desert and make the tires squeal.

Joe Pesci looked like Spilotro so much that when he showed up one of the dealers nearly fainted.

Been missing the premieres lately amigo...I'm sorry.😖
Personally I miss the Vegas of the 80's. And like others have shared...you gotta watch the Departed and Gangs of New York...Shutter Island too while you're at it.
Much love😊💚
best casino reaction period.
@JL This is why I tell everyone Joe Pesci is one of the best actors of all time, great at drama, can intimidate on screen, great timing in comedy's. Was a treat to see you watch this beloved classic
“You don’t hear them kids giggling while she’s talking?”
What’d you have for lunch?”
“Dick”
💀Dying lol. The real people are Frank Rosenthal and Tony Spilotro. There’s a few documentaries on them if you want the real story cause although it’s based on true events there’s quite a bit of hyperbole done for dramatic flare. Great movie nonetheless and hilarious reaction bro love it
Don't think I've ever seen you speechless that long on a scene, you know, when the blonde was tieing his shoes in the 'Eldo. You're killing me, Malls!
I know i great movie for you to do a reaction to the Toxic Avenger!!!
Oh shit, for Scorsese movies you HAVE to do Wolf of Wall Street, The Departed, Shutter Island and Gangs of New York ASAP!! Please!?!? ASAP!!!
The Cooler is another great Vegas casino film.
Best reaction to Casino ever 😂😂😂😂
She tied up the baby dawg....SHE deserves the word !
Running a casino he was amazing......when it came to women he was duuuuuumb!
So they done pissed you off😆, yes good Movie.
Pissed me off when Corporates blew up the whimsical Vegas.
I could tell you all the delicious and very inexpensive food was. I missed the Casino, they blew up😣.
