A crazy fact about this movie is that the two guys taking out all the guys at the end are actual mafia killers who were in witness protection who carried out some of those hits in real life. They were advisors on the film working with Scorsese and basically said “Hey, we did some of these hits. We’ll do them for ya in the movie.”
Yes the famous M&M killings. I'm reality the guys head was facing down on the Vise Grip
Frank Calcutta was one of them, frank Vincent played him.
Frank has a podcast on RUclips and talks about the movie.
@@MrLrsd1965 Frank died tho😞
@@MrLrsd1965 I thought his name was Frank Cullotta? And yes he did pass away a few years ago. I used to watch his RUclips channel.Very interesting Man.
Right one of them was frank culotta
This movie is a prime example of money doesn't buy love, respect and loyalty.
I love the little old lady in the grocery store trying to get her son to stop cussing lol, that lady is Martin Scorsese's Mom. She was in Goodfellas too😂
Martin Scorsese said he never writes lines for his Mother, in any of his movies (including Goodfellas) everything she says, is just mom being mom. The only 'script' the other actors have is a bare outline. 'This is what it's about' & the rest is just having a conversation with mom & responding to what she says.
Yup.
When Asia says "It's always him!" about Joe Pesci, I lost it.
Noticed that too💀💀
It's him ... again.
Yeah Asia had me in tears!😂😅😂😅
I usually don’t watch movie reactions…But, this is in my all time Top 3 favorite movie of all time.
The Departed is a must as well.
“DONNIE BRASCO”, “GOTTI” (1996 version), and “CARLITOS WAY” 😎
Donnie Brasco and Carlito's way yes please.
Carlito's Way is my favourite Pacino movvie. So yeah.
Punch of salt.
Carlito's Way! Brian DePalma films are the best
@@leniobarcelos1770punch or pinch?
I watched this a few times as a little kid, and the scene where that guy starts burying that guy alive freaked me out and burnt into my memory.
Not much scared me in movies, but the thought of getting burried alive like that did. I couldn't wrap my mind around the thought that someone could be so evil to do that to someone.
Not only that but likely all bones are broken and you have major organ damage. Rough way to go.
36:56 “She belong to the STREETS!!!!”
Fun Fact (that i just found out): Don Rickels who plays the character Billy Sherbert was actually a guest of the real Sam Rothstein (whatever his real life name was) show.
Frank “Lefty” Rosenthal.
Asia said “No babe I don’t want to!” BJ like “You got to! You got to!” 😂😂 Y’all so funny!
Haha, and everytime she closes her eyes "OOHHH, did you hear that!?"
Nice reaction! I'm a filmmaker and this is one of my all time favorite films. It's one of those few films where if I happen to watch a random scene I just get stuck and without thinking about it end up watching the rest of the film. It really flows and drags me into it every time. Take care
You should do "Scarface" a 1983 film with Al Pacino, that's one of the most culturally influential movies ever
Definitely Scarface that's a classic
you should also do "Carlito's Way" with Al Pacino!!!!!
They did Scarface already
Classic film.
They did? I don’t remember them reacting to Scarface. Did it get taken down or something?
You guys are a strong couple - your gonna make it all the way. Stay like this to your old and great . God bless you.
Except for a few embellishments you have to expect from Hollywood this is strongly based on true events. You can look up the people portrayed and see the actual documented stories of each one. De Niro's character is based on Frank Rosenthal and Pesci's is based on Anthony "Tony the Ant" Spilotro.
De Niro is one of the best mob movie actors ever but you need to see him in "Analyze This" [1999]. Same mob guy but De Niro in a full on comedy has to be seen to be believed.
Tony Spilotro is a Chicago guy, and I went to high school with his nieces in the suburbs. They were daughters of a third Spilotro brother who I think was a dentist - obviously not in the movie. Our senior year, we had a class with a lot of leeway to do a Chicago history project, and my friend and I chose one on the Chicago Outfit. The lone stipulation was that we could not have any mention of Spilotro, as one of the twins was in the class.
In addition Phillip Greene is based on Allen Glick and Andy Stone is based on Allen Dorfman.
They avoided saying Chicago & used KC instead. The guy with his head in a vice was part of the M&M murders in Chicago. Look these men up, as said this is closely based on a true story
Bob DeNiro should have at least one more Oscar: Taxi Driver: incredible movie and performance
Just so you both know. Bought my father the new iPhone for Father’s Day . He’s 76 and loves tech . I hooked it up for him , signed into his google and RUclips account. And you guys came up in his suggested videos . I said Asia and bj ? He said yea I like them 😂
Yes!!!! Thanks that makes us smile ❤️❤️
That is too cute!
Please try "My Cousin Vinnie" (1992) it has another side of Joe Pesci.
Casino, My Cousin Vinnie, Home Alone. He's got some range lol.
They reacted to it already
@@SCAW1972 Oh well, sorry, I didn't see it.
Another suggestion is 'With Honors'.
@@cfinley81 The Irishman
'Why do they always use the same people?' Director Martin Scorsese sees something in an actor & signs them to a multi-picture deal. Other directors used to laugh at his choices. But - He's picked, Marlon Brando, Robert De Niro, & Leonardo DiCaprio. They stopped laughing. Visionary, is also a correct description of Martin Scorsese.
Sharon Stone killed that role. I don’t know if she was ever even considered for an award.Damn shame too. They were the most toxic couple I’ve ever seen in the history of movies. I really enjoyed watching this with you guys!😂
She won the Golden Globe Best Actress award that year and was nominated for the Academy Award for best Actress.
have you seen Raging Bull lol
It took me like 10 times watching this movie to realize that the reason we all HATE her so much is because of how talented she was as an actress. I can appreciate how she was the one that got the accolades despite such strong performances from everyone.
Raging Bull should be next.
Joe Pesci & Robert DeNiro at their best.
Another classic film. Based on a real life boxer Jake LaMotta.
That Senator at the beginning is based on Harry Reid.
That actor playing the senator is House Rep Sonny Bono.
@@jpowell725 No. It was Dick Smothers, not Sonny Bono
James Woods is so good playing sleazy guys.
All the wardrobe sharone stone use is stunning and iconic 😍
I go back and watch some of the older videos and I just laugh and laugh. You two are fun to watch with.
Great guys! This was a well edited film that compressed alot of information about Vegas back in the day. You all might enjoy Carlito's Way about a gangster trying to get out of the biz.
@ 41:20, the old man walking by had no idea a movie was being filmed. Great improv by Pesci and Vincent.
This might be the third bestest gangster movie ever made. Behind The first two Godfathers and Goodfellas. The next best? Carlito's "Puerto Rican" Way. There are a few Irish crime films worth watching. A) The Departed B) State of Grace C) White Heat. The best black gangsta movies are A) Menace to Society, which is basically Goodfellas with black people and B) New Jack City. The best Jewish gangster movies? A) Once Upon A Time In America and B) Bound.. Okay, that's enough. Why am I still pimping ethnic gangster movies? There's too many to recommend. Carry on, Asia and BJ. Love y'all's channels and whatnot. Cheers
De Niro has been one of Scorcese's main go-to actors since t he 1970S. They've made many films together.
I’m not the biggest gangster movie fan but this was well done. And Nicky’s demise was extra shocking considering he was narrating up until that point.
Gangster movies I recommend:
The Godfather Trilogy
Scarface (1983)
Miller’s Crossing (1990)
The Untouchables (1987)
Billy Bathgate (1991)
Gangs Of New York (2002)
If you watch The Godfather Trilogy you might need to take notes- there’s so many names to keep track of-a lot of moving parts but it’s well-written and has amazing performances and cinematography. But they’ll casually say something you need to remember a lot. 😂🤣 lol
Don't forget "Road To Perdition".
Once upon a time in America is awsome
I don't recommend Millers Crossing, it's the most boring mob film I ever watched💀
@@Buugzy I do recommend Millers Crossing. It is my favorite Coen Brothers movie.
Nicky & his brother’s demise was very real, based on real people & events. The mob beat the💩out of them & buried them alive rather than a bullet in the back of the head as a message to other mobsters. You constantly put us on TV nightly news, you cause us a lot of pain... We'll show you what pain is.
Nicky’s son in real life is a captain on the county fire dept. I was a medic and ran calls with him often. He’s a good man, crazy to think he is this dude’s son.
Ive heard the counting room like like an assembly line of 20s 50s and 100 bills coming in as fast as the line workers can move!
Joe Pesci's characters name in real life is Anthony Spilotto. It's believed that he and his brother Philip were beaten in a hotel room near O'Hare Airport (Chicago). The bodies were dumped in a field in Indiana. A saying I was told was "what do you plant in the spring but doesn't grow in the fall, the Spilotto Brothers".
Anthony Spilotro and the brother was Michael. They were killed in basement not a hotel
Donnie Brasco is one of the most underrated mobster movies.
It's really underrated? lol first time hearing that
@@Buugzy It's underrated in that if you were to ask someone, they would say The Godfather, Goodfellas, or Casino before Donnie Brasco.
@@muriloninjayeah because Goodfellas and Casino are far better movies than Donnie Brasco
fugetaboutit
This movie proves that money don`t buy happiness. Great reaction!!!
not when you give it to the wrong people
James woods man this guy adds so much to this story
Lester picked Ginger up & pimped her out when she was only 14. Hence she was teen-infatuated with him. Fab film, great performances, fun reactions 👏
From Casino, go to Scarface and the Godfather movies. Those will show a lot more tie-ins to big money, politics, the entertainment industry, etc. 😎
Sharon stone got to keep all the clothes from the movie, the guys did too but hers were classic designer pieces.
I love when Asia covers her eyes, but has her fingers open so she can still watch. During the hammer scene when she didn't want to watch I knew the Tony Dogs scene was coming up and I was thinking " oh yeah, it's going to get a lot worse". Great reaction guys😅😅
I love revisiting these movies with you. Reminds me of past date nights. I would like to suggest a double feature. Cape Fear, the Peck version and the DeNiro version.
40:07
I understand Franks dilemma, his loyalty to Nicky literally put everyone in danger, including himself. (Pleading ignorance wasn’t going to save his life, if it came down to it)- so I think what happened at the end was, he had to decide who he was loyal to, and PROVE his loyalty. Frankie decided he wanted to live, rather than go down in flames out of his loyalty to Nicky.
LMFAO the look on her face babe they didn't wait 5 minutes priceless had me crying laughing
Let’s go! Keep gangster coming!
Scarface
Donnie brasco
Lucky number slevin
Oscar (Stallone comedy)
Mafia (comedy mafia spoof)
14:30 from the beginning she told him she wasn’t with it. From that point everything that happened to him was his own fault.
no lie, she was upfront with it and even told him all about lester. she even said i made my own money and never had to ask anyone for it. she laid out all her red flags and he still ignored it. that must of been some good box to bring a whole crime ring down
i am a lonely guy and a really like watching movies with you guys. i love your laid back energy. i just watched your reaction to Goodfellas. i wonder which one you will like better.
Donnie brasco with al Pacino and Johnny depp
Blow with jonny depp
Both based on true stories
Both are great films
After that go into the godfather movies
Ok... Since you guys are on a Gangsta Quest, you HAVE TO WATCH 'Pritzi's Honor' (Jack Nicholson).. 'Bugsy' (Warren Beatty/Annette Bening).. A lighter gangster movie 'Robin and the 7 Hoods' (The Rat Pack).. and a FUN one, 'Bugsy Malone'..My G-Neice was in the High School Production, she played Tallulah. 👍🏾👍🏾
Carlitos Way
Scarface and Donnie Brasco are also good movies in the genre.
The moral of the story is, never let your groin do the thinking.
You guys are American dream. A happily married couple enjoying each other's company, and watching movies. I am happy for you. The Lord has blessed you. I hope He continues to do so. You bring happiness.
I was living in Vegas in 95, si this movie hits a nerve for me. One if my all time favorite
love that Don Rickles is playing a serious role. just a great movie, again.
Rickles had serious roles in the movies. Comics Alan King and Tom Smothers too.
If you liked Robert DeNiro & Joe Pesci in this movie... Then you'll probably wanna watch RAGING BULL. It's not a gangster movie per se, but it does have a little of that element in the movie. It's based on a TRUE STORY and is DEFINITELY considered a "Classic". Hope you enjoy it. 👍💖😀
The scene where the guy was caught using a portable telegraph actually happened.
This film is based on a true story. The mob portrayed in the film was actually the Chicago Outfit, but you only hear Ace and Nicky say "back home." The casino was the Stardust Casino in Las Vegas, which has since been torn down. They changed the name in the movie to the Tangiers. Nicky Santoro in real life was Tony "The Ant" Spilotro, and Ace Rothestein was actually Lefty Rosenthal in real life.
I was in a casino in Biloxi, MS in the 1990s and watched a guy playing blackjack with chips I didn't recognize. I asked a waitress and she told me that they were $10,000 chips and he had stacks on every spot on the table. She told me that he comes in once a month and then buys in for $1,000,000 and leaves with, sometimes more than $100,000,000.00. Then she leaned over and whispered, "He's laundering money for the mafia." I looked at her funny and she said, "He's taking bad money and cashing it out, paying taxes on it, so it's legitimate money."
Yes Tommy is Joe Pecie from Goodfellas 😊 Casino is 100% true story
According to a reporter who worked at the Las Vegas newspaper, Frank and Geri Rosenthal were FBI informants.
I have soooo much fun watching my favorite mob movies with you guys 😎😎😎 !!!! Y'all are hilarious 🤣😆🤣 !!!💕❤💕❤💕
I personally like this movie better than Goodfellas. Robert De Niro Joe Pesci and James Woods are so good in this!
Love this movie! So much talent! Casino is based on a real mobster’s life: Frank “Lefty” Rosenthal & his wife, Geri McGee Rosenthal. Geri did die of a drug overdose & Lefty died of a heart attack at an old age. He had been an FBI informant. 😂 Fascinating stuff but a brutal world to be part of. Thanks for your reaction & insights!
I understand that Geri was also an FBI informant.
Y’all covering the 2tape vhs my 10yr old self HAD to have! Me😭 at you discussing my dream coat! “How many chinchilla they have in that coat” “TWENTY”😭
Now you understand the joke of Ricky Gervais about Joe ''love you man, dont have me wacked'' You have to watch ''The Irishman'' also, its a must.
What actually happened to the spilotro bros was they got called to a meeting in a basement and 20 guys beat them to death with there bare hands and feet. It was done because the bosses took spilotros actions that ruined everything, personal. They werent actually buried alive and they went out probably even worse cause bats would kill/ko after a few hits. Punches and kicks is absolutely brutal and took time.
Fun fact; Martin scorcese wanted to make casino really realistic even if he didnt sho some parts of rothsteins life. Even the deaths were as they supposed to happen in real life except one, the one of Niky's.That is because Martin wanted to make a small parallel between casino and goodfellas; In casino Niky is clubbed to death by a bat from his right hand man who is played by frank vincent. This is because in goodfellas Tommy[joe pesci] kill Billy BATS[frank vincent]. Pretty cool huh?
I have watched this reaction for now the 3rd time! I love this movie and yall reaction had me dying 🤣.
Masterpiece Movie👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
Y'all have some clean reactions, respect the effort.
Exactly this is one of the things that attracted me to their channel. I've never left a separate comment but I love the fact that it's not overwhelmed with profanity. You can actually enjoy it
You guys are so much fun to watch movies with. One of my new favorite channel; been binge-watching
Thanks for your kind words and support Jake ❤️❤️
It's funny how tommy killed Billy Bats in good fellas is the same actor who plays nicky, right hand man in casino who was beating nicky with bats and killed him. It was revenge for billy bats. Lol
Not sure if u guys have seen it, I just recently subscribed to y'all's channel but one mob type movie I think u guys would love is called The Departed. Jack Nicholson Matt Damon and Leonardo Decaprio. The ending events will blow y'all away.
I get mad at Ginger every time I see this movie. Fumbled the bag and a good man
You think you've done mafia? What about the greatest movie of all time Godfather.
For a long time this movie was always compared to Goodfellas. It has finally come into its own.
The Italians are still running all you see in Vegas etc,, and much, much more. You have no idea how much power and reach the Sicilians continue to have. Other big players as well but not quite like my ethnic group. Just stating the facts. Really enjoy your Chanel .. you two are top viewing.. always good fun! 💯👏🏼👏🏼
No, even this movie says the corporations took over in the 1980's.
@davidcosta2244 Not staying, no one else has their hands in any other part of it.. I’m simply stating, that the mafia, are present as well. Facts from La Sicilia.
The Godfather should be next on the list!
The skim is cute. The cashiers might know how much they take in, but they don't know how much is counted. The counters might know how much they count but don't know how much the cashiers took in. So no one knows how much was skimmed except the guys who actually do the skimming.
Both this film and Goodfellas were Martin Scorsese films, and Pesci and De Niro are two of his favorite actors. He's put them in a lot of his films.
“ Can i get four quarters please “ That one caught me off guard 😂😂😂😂
Great Reaction! You guys need to react to Midnight Run - Robert De-Niro ! It’s one of my fave of his movies! Great great film with phenomenal actors and plot! Super funny!
Also Donnie Brasco - this is based on a true story in new york! And Johnny Depp does a great job!
Please do these 2 movies! These are great!!☺️
He is the county commissioner.
The guy with sandwiches getting shot by the police. Asia's expression is priceless. he ain't never seen a white person get get shot by police cinematically. Hilarious.
You guys, became my favourite “movie reaction’s”…. My best wishes for you guys… Julio from Mexico ✌🏻😎
A good movie is SLEEPERS deep man with brad pitt, kevin bacon,Robert de Niro n dustin Hoffman. Bet Asia cries during it. Also look up A MURDER IN THE FIRST too staring kevin bacon,Christian slater n Gary Oldman. Also a good hood movie is LOCKDOWN with master p,deaundre bonds,Gabriel casseus, richard t jones n Cliftonville Powell
Y’all notice Nickies right hand man in this movie also played billy batts , the guy they wacked and buried in good fellas 😂
the real Nicky (Anthony Spilotro) and his brother actually got a worse death than in the movie. They were lured into a basement in the city and punched and kicked to death, which would've been more brutal and prolonged than with bats. Nicky/Anthony's friend Frank wasn't involved either, since he was already caught and making a deal with the feds (he makes an appearance as one of the hitmen in the movie)
Nicky's character (Joe Pesci) is loosely based on Tony (the ant) Spilotro. The guy that plays his attorney was a real Las Vegas "mob" attorney Oscar Goodman, who was also the mayor of Vegas for 12 years. Then, in 2011, he swore his wife, Carolyn, in as mayor, which she still holds today.
Oscar Goodman created the Mob Museum in Las Vegas.
You should watch Donnie Brasco.
Try the movie Once Upon a Time in America. Robert De Niro stars on it
ASIA & BJ: I had an amusing real-life experience with the casino & gangsters this movie was based on. Less amusing, I had a friend who was a blackjack dealer who was murdered when she worked at that casino back then. I wonder to this day, more than 40 years later, if it was because she was stealing from them, or what?
Great reactions guys, always look forward to them
Gotti (1996)
Donnie Brasco.
The Departed is a must as well
true story this movie joe pesci was playing tony Spilotro....and deniro was playing Frank Rosenthal,,,true story
American gambler
DeNiro was given advice about fake stabbing from Pesci. Pesci told him he was going in and out too fast. The knife is hard to pull out of a real body.
Donnie brasco next!!!!!
18:05 was adorable! Made me laugh quite a bit. "I'll keep it..." 😂
“ should’ve stayed in food and beverage.. too much flossing too much Sam rothstein” ~ jay z
Watched this for my first time finally 2 nights ago dude this movie is fire🔥🔥🔥
The man that played Rothstein’s lawyer was actually the most famous mob lawyer of that era in real life
Add Al Pacino and you get The Irishman, another Martin Scorsese film. Pesci shows what his Casino character might have turned out to be had lived longer. Pacino is semi-sorta-legit and DeNiro is, well, Irish.
C'mon Asia, you know you would want that closet 😂😂😂
