The style of this video is similar to @I Like To Make Stuff (I like to Make Stuff) and @Steve Ramsey - Woodworking for Mere Mortals (Woodworking for Mere Mortals) in parts. A large influence on this series has come from content creators in the makerspace like @Matthias Wandel (Matthias Wandel) and @jimmydiresta (Jimmy Diresta).
And for the influence on just getting out there and making cool things... a special thanks to those that inspire our creativity like @Mark Rober (Mark Rober) and @Adam Savage's Tested (Adam Savage).

Those are really cool! I'm definitely going to make a batch of these.
You’ll love them. So easy to make.
Idk where to start...so 1st lets give credit where it's due. I absolutely LOVE this build!! I've been keeping my eye out for a neck saving solution to stargazing for a while now. One that doesn't involve laying on the ground or the need for a waterproof blanket, especially since the nights are already getting pretty chilly in the N.E. states. Second, the sheer simplicity of the design is outstanding; made even better by the space saving breakdown. I also love that (almost) anybody could build this. From no experience to someone who only has access to a few basic hand tools. You guys have more than earned my sub w/this super short video. Looking forward to seeing what other gems are on your channel...after I make my own chair of course! 🙃
What a wonderful and wholesome comment. Thanks for the subscribe.
I made one for my wife this morning. I like this style so much I will make another one for me this week. Well done guys, cool channel!
Awesome. Glad it worked!!!!!
Simple, easy and nice!
👍👍👍
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
Thanks guys 😊
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!!!
Is this the normal playback speed?
In 2022 we tried to speed up some of our videos to make them more exciting. We have over 250 videos now and have learned a lot about video editing. I’d check out some of our newer stuff. Please subscribe and enjoy.
Simple and effective. Cool chair guys.
Thanks Saw Forge. Glad you like them.
So... A digging stick and a sled that double as a chair when put together?
love these African birthing chairs. YES!!! That in fact is what they are. Introduced to Europe in the 19th century.
It turns out we’re probably both right. Ha these chairs are much much older than that. The source is difficult to prove and historically debated. Some examples of these chairs are found around > 2000BCE in Babylon. It’s very possible they are older and were discovered independently in multiple societies.
Great post and thanks for letting me research some fun facts!!!
great video i just made one out for pallet wood about a month age fun chairs to make
Awesome. They are fun and super easy right?
@@FridayWorkshop yeah and pretty comfy
Great chairs awesome videos what is the thickness of the board you used and does the hole have to be on an angle
The hole is not at an angle. That’s what makes it grab. We use standard 2” construction lumber.
Awesome thanks guys keep up the great work
❤
Good work! Those are also called "bog chairs".
Those are nice! Okay.. I have a suggestion (it might be difficult). What about a computer made out of wood? Like the case is wood and it has an actual computer inside.
Thanks. Oh a computer case, or a raspberry pi case sounds like a fun build!!!
@@FridayWorkshop oooh raspberry pi! Good idea!
Malawi has the most carvings on the style of chair.
Ah yeah. The African birthing chairs are super similar. Good call. Thanks for watching.
Those are on my list of to dos. Maybe make it out of compressed sawdust and syrup or salt so you can leave it in the woods for the animals after?
That’s a super cool idea.
why increase the playback speed, the audio quality aint there for me
This was a year and a half ago. You should for sure check out some of our newer videos. We’ve put them out every single week for three years.
We don’t increase the speed anymore.
