I'm going down the same rabbithole you went down looking at other designs and wanting improvements over what most of them offered. Your pcb ordering scene mind as well have been me 😂 did the same thing and noped out. Please keep posting about design ideas and testing. I'm also working towards a full 6dof controller based on the space mushroom and would love to see how yours comes along

of course I'll post more, I'm trying to organize the updates so I can be more consistent on the videos. in the future feel free to share your advancements on the space mushroom, I'd love to see it

Sei un cazzo di genio, l'editing é pazzesco. C'é bisogno di piú video cosí

Before I watch the part2 (I found your channel via that video but stopped watching so I can watch in the correct order), it is 2 weeks I am trying to research and build a space mouse. I have watched some of those you mentioned, but not all, and I have build the SpaceMouse V2 to test, which I think has problems. Your approach to resolve this is the best one, but I wish you know electronics and robotics and the math behind it (maybe you know, I am not sure, you claim you don't).
I will redesign these things if the attraction remains or if I can't find any good one to make soon, but there is one question, why everyone is going mechanical or magnetic? why no one has considered using a simple IMU? I have used one in my thesis robot and it is far easier to get 6 degrees of freedom from it and it needs almost no special springs or electronics.

I am learning right now a bit of pcb creation, code and sensors, I don't know what an IMU is, I've posted the Discord for this project in the description, I've got one guy who probably is good with code that is interested in helping me, wanna join in? I would love to compare ideas and show you where I am right now. I have plenty of ideas on the project but I lack the knowledge to apply all of them.
edit: I've read what an IMU is, I am using one, in combination with a magnetic sensor because I'm not sure the IMU is enough

@@razberry1997 I may mix this two replies so please bear with me. I would love to help in my limited time, as much as I know.
So as you know what IMU is, I need to say that using the magnetic sensors in an IMU is for use with Earth magnmetic fields, not small magnets. So I am not sure if that method is acceptable.
I would say, use the accelerometer sensors, in combination with others (search Sensor Fusion + IMU).

When you can do this with an IMU, why bother with springs and mechanical sensors?
