  • Luckily it wasn't a serious injury, but my ankle sprain sidelined me from inline skating for months as I healed. During that time I realized I've never directly said "thank you" to all the amazing support I get on this channel. Believe me, it doesn't go unnoticed and I truly appreciate it all.
    A pretty casual session as my first back in the city. Just a celebration of being able to skate again at the same time the weather improves in my part of the world.
    Also, a special little treat for ‪@outdoorsports6768‬ , who was the very first to comment on my very first video. To be clear, I appreciate all the support equally, but he asked about the Rocky statue and I said I'd get some footage!

      We do have a great niche community as inline skaters. I am not surprised that Tim the Stair Bashing Skater would feel those urges. It would be a great set to bash. It’s kinda hallowed ground though, so I give them a nod of respect and just keep skating haha.

    • @rerollinginline
      @rerollinginline  2 года назад +1

      Very frustrating. In hindsight, at least it was the winter months. And folks in worse climates might have to take the winter off every year. I think half the frustration was specifically because of the reason I couldn't skate. Driving me nuts and I was constantly thinking "will it not heal completely?" But this past week has been pretty good.

      Thank you! I've gotten the request a lot recently for breaking down my gear. Yes, these are my only skates, but I've got 3 different frames I've used so far, which I'll do a video about.
      I'm not exactly sure how long I've been skating. I started probably when I was maybe 10? But I'm not sure. I just played street roller hockey, but stopped when I was 16. Then I came back again when I was 38 and started this channel.

      Yes, I'm thankful for all the times you've had nice things to say :) I cut out a lot of video, but I mentioned in the beginning the intent of the skate was just to roll for a while, and keep the intensity low. Especially because it was late afternoon on a nice spring day. Way more crowded then I prefer, but it helped me keep the session mellow.

      @@rerollinginline you have metrics of your average speed and distance?

      @@WheelyArt No. I wore my Garmin watch when I started, around the time of starting this channel, but I don’t anymore. I wore it in the beginning because I was getting back into shape and curious about calories etc. Once I got into shape, I stopped. At that time, my suburban skate sessions averaged like 9-10mph. I’ve never really skated for distance, so that was similar to my city skating style, just not in the actual city. Maybe I should pull out the watch sometime and see.
