@@thedanishlord She says 'You're incredible', but she means it as an insult. Not a hurtful one, but like an incredulous statement. She can't believe he's this incredibly full of himself.
Phil flips the meaning of the word incredible around on her, because incredible can also be taken as a compliment and quips: 'Who told you?', with the implication being that he alludes to being great in bed and one of his lovers must have mentioned his 'incredibleness' to Rita.

Love Murray, the guy is hilarious. And about the groundhog, who in their right mind came up with a large squirrel predicting the weather 🤣🤣🤣.
I think it was the Germans actually, and I think it has connections with Roman Catholicism.
It goes back to a holy day called Candlemas. When the Europeans came to America they brought their traditions with them and the Groundhog replaced the hedgehog.

And of course, since Spring begins at March 21st, roughly 6 weeks after Groundhog Day, Phil always sees a shadow, and there's always 6 more weeks of winter. The movie is awesome, though. Great fun to watch, though it always seems shorter than it was in my memories. Meaning that it's over far too quickly, and I would've liked it to go on twice as long.

Bills funny but not an easy guy to be around
It really did suck. With the massive changes being made to the script, tensions between Murray and Ramis at an all time high, and Murray was a bit of a ego driven diva on set, it's amazing the film came out to be their most memorable work that truly approached the romantic comedy with a bit of fantasy mixed together, in an inventive way. At least we got a great film from the duo before the split.

Nah, I think they did that on purpose to make the movie feel a bit realistic. (Not that repeating the same day over and over again is realistic, but you get the point)
Do the townspeople ask themselves "what is the age of this tradition, and what is the predicted life span of a groundhog"?
Three years in the wild. 6 years in captivity, if properly taken care of. They become independent and capable of foraging on their own around two months and have one litter of roughly half a dozen babies once a year.
I'm guessing if this is a time honored tradition, they claim that this groundhog is the descendant of the original Punxsatawney Phil, who inherited his weather predicting powers through the generations of groundhog that preceded him and will continue to pass it on to his descendants for generations more to come.
No they just say it is Phil, why make up a whole story when the tradition is just for fun
Can you imagine how bad the remake of this movie would be today? It would never be as wholesome and fun. It would be forced and woke.
