The Toro decks are made very differently in the US... I have a small collection of '87 to '94 Toros. Best walk behind mowers ever made.

I had the same with a stihl strimmer that had a zama carb on that wouldn't prime so after checking the fuel pipe I sonic cleaned it and still wouldn't prime so consulted RUclips and found out that the check valves sometimes stay open and it was recommended to soak the carb in petrol for an hour then let air Dry, did that and it worked a treat 👍

Nice quick job.... Henry from mowers and Blowers, and I call that carb clean a quick and dirty.
I noticed, I'm listening to your video on 7.1 surround sound, I can hear a rod knock on the quantum, a slapping sound maybe a valve don't know, hope it works well for the next person who buys it.
The knocking was the deck rattling.. not the engine.. runs sweet bud..

Hi Mick and all other Micks mower Fans. I ‘ve had the problem of a non prime after taking off the carburettor. The primer bulb pushes air down the back of the filter housing in a little channel that is sealed off by the gasket. Anyway I replaced the gasket to no avail. So I sealed the channel using a tiny bit of electricians tape. Put it all back together and she now primed like a good one. Still use it every week for 2 years and it’s great. Hope this helps someone else. Cheers

I've done the same with Duct Tape. One time, the base was still too warped and I also had to double gasket on top of the tape. I think it primed to the roof of the carb after that!
That toro sounds like a bag of nails, maybe just your sound quality?
I agree, there's something no right there 🤔 big end gone/going... .. I'm a main dealer and I would NEVER sell a customer a new mower unless there old one was somthing seriously wrong or it was deemed dangerous or they came in asking for a new machine. Could be sound quality of video right enough.
