I just wanna stream and have a good time. Originally Dragon Ball came on at 7:00-7:30 PM at night in Japan. For years it has. Even Kai. Super, however comes on Saturday night and Sunday morning.
Dragon Ball Z is so intense, yet so violent, yet so over-the-top. I love it.

Imagine as a kid in the 90s you media diet was watching ducktales, animaniacs, pokemon, tiny toons and shit, with the edgier cartoons being gargoyles, btas and batman beyond and then your friend brings vhs tapes of DBZ and you watch the main character get a lazer blasted through his stomach with blood and guts spewing out, dies and gets brought back to life. The magic of DBZ would never be recaptured again.
As a huge fan of Beyond that show could be pretty graphic as well.

Piccolo, Vegeta, Frieza, Cell and even Majin Buu were such great and memorable villains and the sheer Brutality they would show to their enemies and those who are simply in the way is one of the biggest reasons why Dragon ball Z is immortal.
Whether you like GT or Super they can never amount to their predecessor.

True but GT Goku is impaled in an amusement park, stabbed by omega and punches a hole through someone draws back punches again and a fucking dragon wraps around a city and goes through him and blows him up. GT was pretty violent. Z was a bit too extreme which is why it's so great.
Seeing Videl getting destroyed by Spopovich was probably one of the most painful moments I've ever seen in DBZ and Videl gets crushed is probably one of the worst episodes I've ever seen.

I feel bad for yamcha. He was one of the top fighters in DragonBall but he's only strong towards other humans which is a very few while majority are superpowered non humans in DragonBall Z.
In my opinion this is what current animes and tv shows need but people today are so sensitive and weak minded and can't handle this kind of violence

I think db goku was the worst. Shot through the chest with his gaurd down, basically disabling his right arm. Getting his arm almost cut off. Getting the open hole jabbed 3 times. Seriously brutal
I would think Goku had it worse when he fought Vegeta, where almost every bone was broken. In DB, Goku could still fly and deliver a powerful attack against Piccolo, but with Vegeta, he literally couldn't do anything at all, except give leftover spirit bomb energy to Krillin.

Honorable mention to when Vegeta killed Nappa. Not especially bloody. But the pain is more an internal one. Nappa was not expecting the betrayal, leading to a really harsh end.
Keep in mind this was back in the 80s or 90s when shounen anime had no limits to showing graphic or just straight up brutal content. You think dr gero impaling yamcha was bad in the manga the man honking his car at him was straight up decapitated by him it so brutal that the scene was never made in the anime.
Attack on Titan craps all over this gore wise. That show is brutal as fuck.

Another pretty brutal bloody scene was in The Return of Cooler when Cooler in his AI form nearly kills Goku by wrapping the wires around him and they start cutting through his skin and he starts bleeding excessively!

To those of you saying, I can’t believe they aired this on TV, remember that in the 90s DBZ was heavily edited, and a lot of these scenes were either toned down or not included at all. However, the Japanese broadcast was not unedited, uncut, and was shown to small Japanese children. The only way to watch DBZ unedited back then in the United States were either bootleg VHS tapes of the original Japanese dub or uncut VHS tapes that Funimation put out at the time
I like in the manga when Frieza was sliced in half, you actually see his organs.
This is what I want in Super. I'm not saying Super sucks but it doesn’t give you near the same feeling as Z and part of that has to deal with the violence. The worst they get in super is often a bloodless hole in their chest, a bunch of scratches, or some bruising. When you saw these injuries in Z paired with the sounds of stuff like breaking bones you knew these guys were wounded not just hurt. Like if you saw Vegeta get punched through some mountains in super and come out with a black eye some scratches and holding his arm, you know he’s hurt but you don’t know how bad it is. For all you know he’s got plenty left in the tank. But in Z if Vegeta gets punched in the stomach so hard you see the imprint in his back , hear his ribs breaking , and starts coughing up blood and screaming you know it’s bad. You can sort of feel it while just watching it. Just look at the Videl fight. Idk about you guys but that was so raw I kind of felt her pain. That’s where Z shined when you saw Vegeta claw his way out of a hole in the ground covered in blood, with a clearly broken arm, and blood falling into his eye keeping it shut you knew shit was real. When a guy had you coughing up blood and shaking but you still stand up ready to keep fighting that’s where that rush of adrenaline comes from that made Z famous. When the super characters yell it doesn’t really do anything to me. But when they yelled in Z you knew that it was because while they were powering up they were also powering through the pain. The fighting through the pain is what made Z so intense and interesting to watch.

Fun fact, it is IMPOSSIBLE to see this in DragonBall Z Kai. The only blood color you see is green or purple. But red blood doesn't exist in Kai. It's a guaranteed fact.
The uncut version of dbz Kai has red blood. The only time it’s purple is when piccolo loses his arm.
What about the torture of Goku by Vegeta in his Great Ape/Oozaru form? Or Gohan with a snapped neck? The state of Krillin at the end of the fight with Vegeta, plus Vegeta's own state? Piccolo losing the arm? Vegeta's mortal wound from Frieza? And many many many many many more.
