Davey LOVES these gigs !!! And he's having so much fun...he took a big headstock Fender for the gig...great choice.. These are the tunes Dave came from and he's come full circle...what a dream you have lived Davey ! Cheers mate, all the best, a pint and a joint.
Many, many years ago I read an interview with Dave. I'm pretty sure it was the early '90s. In the interview he stated that when he got older (after Maiden) he would be the old guy jamming somewhere in a bar. So 25+ years later it seems to be true. Although it isnt after Maiden. Since Maiden is still going strong. But still...too cool.
I have seen Robin Trower in an intimate venue and it was absolutely incredible hearing the seeds from the original source that shaped players like Dave Murray who went on to much greater stardom… and then to circle back and hear Murray covering Trower perfectly and loving it.
I suppose I should check out more of Mr trower. I met him in 1989, only knowing he was a famous older guitar guy. I thought he was the guitar player for yes. And I was like 20 so I had no interest in anything except shredding metal. Served him dinner at the hotel I worked at.
Day of the Eagle by Robin Trower Band sung by James Drawer. Excellent tune bud. Tune came out about 50 years ago and still sounds fresh. Check out the studio version. Will be a nice tune for your rock collection. ROCK ON!
A legend without ego, just pure talent.
Wow!!! So fuking true!!!

He would be down for the pint for sure. Not likely the joint.
I doubt he likes the joint.
Fucking great !!! Dave Is my hero ! And seeing him playing such a classic song from another guitar hero from the 70´s is just brilliant !
+Gustavo Mesquita Trower is one of his biggest influences.

My hero Dave Murray!!!
Every good guitarist has their idols to be inspired by. Dave Murray certainly drank at the source of Robin Trower.

Dave is best
probably people in the audience saying that guitarist is really good, but not knowing who is actually is.
An important part of Robin Trower’s playing is the facial expressions. Dave has this going on perfectly

03:35 This happens when Jimi Hendrix is your favourite guitar player.
Exactly when ISN'T Hendrix EVERYONE'S favorite guitar player? Answer: When they're fans who don't play guitar and just don't know any better.
Outfuckingstanding.
Ahhhhhhh! Oh my gosh! Is Dave the Trower fanatic? I love it and heard in the early albums! Just about all their influences I love as well!!!
