The problem is he designed a tank on paper without thinking into account the actual mechanical principle making it into creation. Having 5 gun breaches on a single turret in that rotation, good luck....
If it’s anything like a Mark IV or V it’s probably for the best they all crowd around the turret. They might just be able to dodge the moving parts of the running engine in the middle of the tank lol.
The two turret side by side does create what is called a shot trap in between them. Would be risky in a real world situation but I can easily see ww1 designers making this mistake. Great content either way.
This was actually seen on the American M2A2 from 1935. It had 2 turrets side by side with a .50 machine gun in the left turret and a .30 machine gun in the right turret
Well, Vickers did it shortly after WWII. That tank became the basis of the T-26 (two turrets, initially), the Polish 7TP, and several other tanks. And the British built the Cruiser Tank, Mk. I with two machine gun turrets in front of the main turret. Heck, the Soviet T-28 had the same configuration. The real problem was that communication from turret to turret was impossible, so there was zero coordination.
The Vickers six-ton tank, an interwar design never used by Britain but sold to many other countries, had an A and a B type: one with twin one-man machine gun turrets much like this, one with the first example of a co-axial machine gun in a mount with a 2 pounder quick-firing gun in a two-man turret.
“Sir there’s a problem with our Gatling tank, we put the gunners sight directly behind the breach so every time the gunner acquires a target and engages, the 5 breaches pulverise the loaders into powder, how do we fix this?” “Add a second turret and 10 spare loaders”
All I can think about when you were having issues with the gunners not shooting is that meme "it's under the sauce. It's under the sauce. The cheese is under the sauce" but in this case it's "your commander doesn't have a seat. Your commander doesn't have a seat." Lol
I didn't even manage that much before they added freeform building and I failed to learn how to use it and eventually gave up. I've made like... 4 tanks total. And last time I played only one of them was even still capable of being spawned in.
There is supposed to several inches between the tracks and the frame of your tank. Having them so close together can cause the the tracks to become jammed up if a shell dents the frame. Just a thought
I love how the turrets are positioned right over the tracks, so the crew has even less space inside. They'd also have to leave the hatches open or risk gassing themselves XD
I love how his is a much better version of the tank called a M2a2. This is like the M2a2 but the turrets with the .303 and the .50 are just replaced with 4 guns each that can actually penetrate a tank.
You can just call it a rotary cannon for simplicity's sake. The firing one after the other is called "volley fire" even though you'd think a volley would be all at once. So you're building a dual rotary cannon volley fire WWI tank. You should make the turrets alternate their fire, so one fires then the otherside then the otherside, etc. That way you have an actual sustained fire that you can space out across the reload time. Also, what a version of the game if they made a Frantic version of it. Frantic Bop it. Bop it! Twist it! Squidge it!!!!
I wonder, can one make a tank in Sprocket that is like the Panjandrum, also known as The Great Panjandrum, it was a massive, rocket-propelled, explosive laden cart designed by the British military during World War II.
The polish tank is the 7TP DW, which stands for "7-mio tonowy polski" - "7 tonned polish" and "Dwu-Wieżowy" - "Double Turreted?". The entire project was build to fight infantry with two mashine guns, and was a modification of the main 7TP tank, which was based on the Vickers tank. Also, great work mate!
you dont want "dual transmission" when choosing an underpowered vehicle, because theres too much lost to ATTEMPTING to move the other track in the opposite direction, rather than simply using its friction to apply a torque in the desired direction with the powered track on the other side
There is a semi automatic cannon, a Hotchkiss (spelling?). It is a hand cranked just like the old civil war gatling gun. The main difference is mostly internal. But you basically just fill up the hopper with ammo, then you point it at your target and crank. I believe that it came in 25 mm to 40 mm. It used H.E. rounds. It was adopted by the US NAVY as a anti Boarding weapon to walk explosive shells to the boats full of boarders. It was easy to aim, relatively, being on a boat and all. The common caliber was the 1 inch, or 25 mm.
The type of gun you're looking for is either a Volley Gun. They're a type of singular gun with multiple single shot barrels that fire either, all at once, hence Volley, or Sequentially. Edit: Additional information.
"We have fourteen people in this tank!" Some of them are chipmunks judging by the positioning of those viewing slits. Chipmunks sitting on top of the breach of your cannons. Also I hope that driver's slit is meant to be a periscope or else you're gonna need to find a guy with a really flat head.
I like this idea, don't get me wrong, I love the double turret and the armor setup is great, but the tank fails to make room for the gunners to reload, the gunners would have such a pain full and hard time reloading the guns, and there is no way to see left, right or backwards.
28:48 90 degrees is originally for air force but sometimes it was used like this in tanks too. It was time when no one really cared for way you put this on the tank XD
Hey, just wanted to say that the polish air force checkerboard is squared and not diamond shaped, dunno who said it should be placed like that, overall i love the vid
