I’m so grateful that you reacted to this episode. “Dude we’re getting the band back together” is a top tier episode. Plus the song “I Ain’t Got Rhythm” helped this show became a Emmy nominated masterpiece.
I love how Doofenshmirtz tries to throw Vanessa a good birthday party every year since his own parents never gave him one. It's really sweet how he goes out of his way to give her the love he never got. Breaking the generational trauma cycle.
While actually continuing it. Her birthdays were also terrible because her dad, eternally trying to relive his 5th birthday through her, kept embarassing her and therefore her parent never gave her a good birthday either.
@@demo2823True, but at least it's not out of malice or neglect like his parents did. He may not "get" Vanessa, but he does try and genuinely cares for her.
I wouldnt say hes continuing a cycle of trauma, he is going about it wrong, but what he did is so far removed from how he was treated and abused by his parents@demo2823
And we see her starting to realise that in this episode: he “finally got one right”. She’s moving to meet him in the middle as he’s been trying to do for her for years.

4:43 So Swampy once explained on social media how the boys pay for all of their projects. In the first episode Rollercoaster the rollercoaster was paid with their saved up allowance and gift money. Then while on the rollercoaster Phineas mentioned that they charged for rides on it. So using that money they made on the rollercoaster they invested in the stock market very wisely and that has been how they paid for their future projects. Plus in later episodes they mention the city using some of the boy's projects so I imagine they have some sort of business like relationship to help with paperwork and ordering supplies so quickly.
Considering the context of the episode it is mentioned in, I’m not sure how canon it is, but don’t the brothers have seats on the city council? I mean, the information conjured by the brain had to have come from somewhere, so I could actually see that throwaway premise in that episode being true, even if the events themselves might not have been. Sorry, being vague to dance around potential spoilers. After all, we had The Flying Car of Tomorrow, Today!
