3:15:41 - The reason Rex put the beer in the milk cartons was because Black Sampson used that high-frequency weapon on his suit to break the beer bottles in episode 5. It took me a few watches for it to click. If you ask me that's kind of hilarious that instead of taking the lesson that maybe they shouldn't celebrate a job well-done until they've recapped how their mission went, Rex instead thought that he should find a way to keep Black Sampson from breaking the team's beer bottles.

A small thing I noticed in rewatching is that the little kid that hung out with the Martian Guardian of the Globe is actually eating in the soup kitchen that Amber and Eve are helping at.

It never occurred to me either. HOWEVER, it *did* teach him a lesson, of sorts. He became a more creative thinker as a result. it was a creative solution to a problem. Honestly, I wouldn't have thought of it, but he was like 'Fuck it and fuck him, we're doing this anyway, and he can just blow me.'

The thing i love about this show is its balance with not being too edgy like the boys but also not being too innocent either. Thats how you do realism imo

Exactly, in Invincible they do the “superman, but he’s the bad guy” trope better than The Boys not because it’s more edgy but more because it’s similar to any other comic until it hits you with the gore and realization that this is not just another superhero story, but a story steeped in the reality of what superhero powers can actually do to the fragile human body, just like the first episode, the regular superhero aspect is only surface deep and below it is the nitty gritty of what having superpowers in real life can do
I’m not saying that the Boys is worse, they both just took a different approach and I just like how Invincible handles its approach better, The Boys doesn’t have a hinge to limit it it’s always as edgy as it needs to be, it’s darker as dark can be, in contrast Invincible is more vibrant and colorful but still displays that same amount of nitty gritty if need be
In other words Invincible is a more traditional Superhero comic while The Boys is more revolutionary, and not afraid of going leaps and bounds to portray a story with a darker tone

When I saw the flashbacks of The Immortal for first time. I called him good guy Vandal Savage because that was the first thing that popped in my head.

Maybe because it's an animated comic book? When I read or look at animation I don't usually want everything to be based on if it can work or happen in real life. People used to read and watch things for escapism and fantasy. Now if something isn't 100% in line with real world they crap on it.

I like you guys mentioning mark not having any training prior to getting his powers , and I think it’s more because his parents assumed he wouldn’t get his powers , since he should’ve had them already. Omni-man didn’t account for mark getting them at all so he never put him thru training.
He is not gonna age faster than a viltrumite tho. Human dna is the most compatible one with viltrumites and viltrumite dna is dominant. It just takes over and he is aging the same.

3:57:35 Well simply, he didn't want to. Looking back at episode 1, remember, Omniman was straight up upset when Mark got his powers. His mission meant that once Mark got powers and "officially" became a Viltrumite, it was time to execute his objectives of weakening the planet (kill Guardians) and prepare for its takeover. The thing is, he, whether consciously or subconsciously, actually enjoyed his time with Debbie and even moreso when mark was born. He actually made friends with these people, and didn't want to continue his actual job. He would when the time came to do so but he didn't exactly want that. That's why he was upset seeing Mark get powers, he was hoping it would just never happen. And that's why he never raised Mark to be a Viltrumite

My only issue with this reaction is that SeeOhKnee is unable to watch without everyone else steering his thinking. He wasn’t allowed to question Omni-Man’s genuineness once because every time he pretended to be nice, someone else immediately responded with a “he’s so fake” type retort. I remember thinking Omni-Man wasn’t evil at first, and having that idea slowly warp over the course of the show. Seeohknee didn’t get to experience that. That’s my only problem though, and it’s not a big deal.

@@ranniwolvesNo, they actually don't! Every single thing he does or word he says is left intentionally suspicious but still heavily ambiguous on purpose to keep a lingering mystery as to his motives and morale.
"Earth isn't yours to conquer" could mean either A. You can't conquer Earth or B. It's MINE to conquer. Omni-Man calling the new Guardians pathetic could either be him expressing how they suck compared to the last Guardians, or him specifically expressing how he knows they can't stop him like the previous Guardians could. When he asks for his costume adamantly? Could be him avoiding any analysis being done on it, OR it could just be him wanting his costume back and being rude about it.
That is the entire point of the show not outright saying "yeah Nolan consciously did it and is evil".
They’re like “omni man could have stopped it at any time.” I feel like battle beast might be stronger than you think.
I like to think that it was so traumatic that ruff forgot almost everything of the series on his first reaction, but it slowly comes back the more he watches.
I am not current on comic books so I am not sure which Gwen you are talking about but Atom Eve always struck me as taking inspiration from Green Lantern/Star Sapphire.

15:40 fun fact coming from a comic nerd, humans are so compatible with viltrumites and Nolan’s line is so “pure” that Mark is pretty much a full blooded viltrumite. Like any aging difference is negligible.
Plus viltrumites don’t age differently at first. They sorta slow in aging as they age. So an 80 year old viltrumite would still be biologically 20, meanwhile the 80 yo equivalent of a viltrumite (like Conquest) would be tens of thousands of years old.
But a 16 yo viltrumite is the same biological age wise as a 16 yo human

There’s an actual ghost hero I can’t remember their name, I think it’s literally dead man, or something like that, but they possess Batman into using a gun and he hates that he uses a weapon afterwards, I think that’s what the ghost character is based off of.

Yes. Nolan eats the things he defeats. Viltrumites don't even necessarily have to *cook* what they kill in order to eat them, because their biology is that efficient and strong.
There is an entire chapter of the book where Nolan looks after an injured Mark who is recovering from having his guts ripped out of his body alongside his half-alien half-viltrumite son(So marks younger half-brother) and in order to stay alive while doing so, and to aid his recovery, they hunt, eat and feed him while they're on the planet. In the process of this, they don't even use medical equipment. Mark just recovers with rest and food over time.
Viltrumites are *just that strong.*

Short answer, They didn't train Mark because Nolan spent most of his time away being a superhero and left most of the parenting to Debbie, who wanted to raise Mark as a normal boy instead of a super soldier. Remember, Neither Nolan or Debbier were sure if Mark would ever get powers and Nolan new almost nothing about regular humans so the idea on Debbies part was to raise Mark in a loving environment without crushing expectations while Nolan expected his powers to developed a LOT sooner. Most Viltrumites start getting their powers around the same time they are getting potty trained.

This is what I really like about season 1. Cecil makes it Crystal clear from episode 2 that it was never a matter of figuring out who killed the Guardians. Nolan really did jack all to cover his tracks. No, the name of the game was making Nolan THINK he got away with it until Cecil could find a way to deal with him because, despite more than a decade of searching, he still hasn't found anything that can even put a dent in the man.
Never seen this show before but I heard it's really good and I don't have Amazon Prime. So I'm catching up with the series here. Also, weird how Omni-Man is acting so normal at first. I didn't know he was gonna be a villain, or anti-hero?

A lot of people miss the point of Mark and Amber’s subplot in that it’s supposed to show how absurdly difficult it would be to hide your secret identity while being in a romantic relationship in a more “real world” setting. Many of the super hero’s significant other don’t find out because the plot demands it. In this show Mark is so absolutely terrible at hiding the fact that he’s invincible (as most comic characters are) that any normal person would have figured it out long ago.
That doesn't change the fact she pretended not to know and then get mad at him when he ran off to go save the world. If you know your boyfriend is a superhero who saves the WORLD yet still expect him to make time for you, then you're a selfish dick!

The difficulty of hiding a social life with your superhero life is given a nice execution in this show. However, Amber made it out to put all the blame on Mark while she believes she is 100% in the right with her reaction. Yes, Mark is not innocent in trying to lie to his friends and girlfriend about what he's doing at what time. He's still young and he has the faith of the world on his shoulders and baddies that beat the living shit out of him every week. In the end, Amber is in the right to feel pissed about being left in the dark because she believes she should be given the truth by now, but she must understand how much Mark has to deal with enough to cut him some slack. Breaking off the relationship is understandable, but the fact that no one considered Marks side whatsoever and had his best friend side with Amber, basically calling Mark an asshole for how he handled the relationship, seems unfair to say the least. It also seemed unfair to have Mark put up the "puppy eye" schtick, asking Amber if they could be together again, as if he believes he is completely at fault with this, even with his Dad revealing the truth of treating each person on Earth like slaves to his race and beating the ever living shit out of him. Mark gave Amber too much credit, believing that she was completely right through every statement she said. I believe both of them were at fault in the relationship.

the invincible comic and atom eve predate Ben 10 by a couple years so if the inspiration happened in either direction it was this that inspire Gwen's powers

@@adrianvulpes9509 If a rat infestation is in the kitchen, they're supposed to voluntarily close the kitchen and put out a notice. If they don't, the health inspector is supposed to force them to close and puts out a notice for them, keeping the location closed until the infestation has been taken care of by an exterminator and the owner of the location provides proof of this to the health department.
