Mortal Kombat 1 is an upcoming fighting game developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Games. The game is set to be released for Windows, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch on September 19, 2023. It will be the twelfth main installment in the Mortal Kombat series and a sequel to Mortal Kombat 11 (2019). Mortal Kombat 1 will be the series' second soft reboot, following Mortal Kombat (2011).
Mortal Kombat 1 has been confirmed to feature a story mode, online multiplayer with rollback netcode, and offline gameplay. The game will introduce a feature called Kameo Fighters, which will provide assistance to the player during fights. These characters will be separate from the main roster, and chosen before each fight.
As of the game's announcement date, it has been revealed to feature reimagined versions of Liu Kang, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Johnny Cage, Kung Lao, Kitana, and Mileena. Shang Tsung will be offered as a pre-order incentive. Six additional characters and five kameo fighters are planned for post-launch release via the "Kombat Pack" downloadable content.
After ceasing support for Mortal Kombat 11, NetherRealm Studios disclosed that it was working on a new project on July 2021. Johnny Cage voice actor Andrew Bowen indicated that the 12th installment was in development in a hastily deleted tweet. In February 2023, Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav announced during a 2022 fourth-quarter earnings call that a twelfth installment in the series was set to be released later in that year.
On May 18, 2023, NetherRealm Studios announced Mortal Kombat 1 with a release date of September 19, 2023. It is a reboot of the series and is set in the New Era timeline created by Liu Kang after he attained godhood in Mortal Kombat 11. NetherRealm Studios announced that those who preorder any version of the game for the PS5 and Xbox Series will receive access to a beta in August, and after the game launches, NetherRealm will provide cross-play and cross-progression. A skin for Johnny Cage based on the likeness of Jean-Claude Van Damme will be available as premium downloadable content. The PS5 and Xbox Series versions of the game are being developed by NetherRealm Studios, the Windows versions by QLOC, and the Nintendo Switch version by Shiver Entertainment and Saber Interactive.

That glowing effect from his blade was fantastic, his design is also much2 more better than MK11. Never liked his kharacter from my experience playing MK but holy hell, after seeing him in this trailer my opinion about him might be changed and prolly gonna play him a lot.

A Comic Con Exclusive trailer with Reiko as playable and Motaro as a Kameo was konfirmed by Caboose it also had Babalities and Animalities in it. It isn't ready to be shown to social media yet.

What is it tgat EVERY costume in the latest few MK games is made of leather with unnecessary straps all over their body’s.. Like really all costumes need to be gothic inspired? Diversity was bigger in the pallet swap era lmao

Li Mei looks awesome but I wish she was in her Deadly Alliance attire. Nothing will ever top it. One of the best, creative, and distinctive designs the series ever produced. Not a fan of the fatality tho.
Tanya looks good but I hate her hair. She has a new weapon…again. Man they do not know what to do with her. Why not just make her a weapons expert and she can magically create any weapon she wants at this point? Don’t like her fatality either.

Darrius kameo was hype. Did not expect him! Finally a real deep cut character shows up like what was promised. He’s the only one so far but gives me hope to see more. Maybe Kobra next? Meat? Zebron? Asgaarth? Monster? Art Lean?!
Goro seems to have changed a bit and I am happy about it. He looks better. Still wish he was in his klassic attire.
Khameleon is whatever. Cool that she’s here but she’s not a character I love or have wanted. Also I wish she was transparent. And changing color. That would’ve made me more hype for her. Maybe she changes color depending on the attack she performs?
Li Mei & Tanya don't look good at all.
Given how NRS have been toning down girls, at least they could have made Li Mei look like she did in Battle of the Realms and I don't know why they didn't continue the Egyptian-themed Tanya since that fit her very well. This Tanya is just Tanya in name only. I'll be calling her Watanya to avoid confusion.

And i think how khamelion works is whoever the main fighter she is that's her color, since she was tanyas khameo shes yellow and yeah tanya is literally a completely diffrent take on her and baraka looks the best and has an actual personality
@@KlukePhoenix I just wish her main costume would have been something that looked closer to her armored costume from Deception. I think I could tolerate her new look if she had something on her head, like a bandana or something.

Okay so that part where Liu Kang mentions that the umgadi are warriors that are compromised of "the firstborn daughters of Outworld" who are tasked with guarding the royal family... Yeah that's definitely some Dora Milaje shit right there 😂. Like Ouworld is just straight up Wakanda at this point. So far LOVING how Baraka is gonna be utilized in the story, Li Mei having some big energy lion is a little weird but pretty cool, and Tanya is definitely gonna take some getting used to regarding the redesign. No tonfas, bob cut, or glowing eyes? Yeah idk man, we'll see how cool she is in the story later on though
