so the slaine theocracy was basically a small group of players who weren’t super high level but still very up there. in its prime they were probably close to max level or something. they probably had a lot of good gear but nothing extreme at the most. while our skeleton boy came in with max level by himself but with tons of assets with a fully fleshed out base of operations and a team of super npc’s to boot.
Their gods are just average max level players with few unique items (world items). Momonga even said that its easy to max level. on the other hand, the Ainz Ooal Gown guild is a top ten guild in Nazarick and could be first anytime if they just wanted. If they were resurrected at the same time oh boy. I want to see these clown gods get wrecked by Lord Touch Me so bad.

@@DonoZeek If you're talking about the NPC in Nazarick, its because the players in the guild created them to hate on humans cause when overlord was a game it had human race and monster race. Think of World of warcraft where there is alliance and hordes.
Man the overlord world is so rich and its looking bigger and bigger than i thought. Its a shame that an anime will require 100+ episodes to fully explore everything and reach an endpoint in the story. I doubt it will ever happen, we will forever be left on a cliffhanger and must read the LN
You're absolutely right. The world of Overlord is absolutely massive and it'd be next to impossible for the anime to cover everything that exists there. On the plus side though it allows us content creators and fans to try and fill in the gaps as best we can!

I disagree. Comparing to the details I have been seeing through these videos and by reading the light novel, the anime is very rushed and unused potential. Still enjoying it, but it is not that good tbh even though the anime has potential
I feel like Mayurama just asked himself "Why wouldn't humans be wiped out in a D&D setting where everyone else has more advantages than them ? Surely just having a higher reproduction rate is not enough.". So his answer was probably that there is a system to artificially support humanity, setup by previous players and taking Yggdrasil's favor for humanoids to an extreme.

dang i was hoping for more details especially on the black scripture, the intro to season 2 was so hyped but then they basically never showed up again for the rest of the anime. such a let down they werent shown more and felt like an afterthought. great video all the same, guess i need to read if i want more.
Talk about god level world building. It’s no wonder Over Lord is on of my favorite Anime and manga to watch and read. As a writer myself I’m learning a lot from how the author of over lord created this world. When you get into it you can feel as though the world, politics and ways of life in the story are all real. It’s really helping me with my own writing. And your videos are a big help too by the way. Keep it up man.
This was a great explanation of the Slane Theocracy. Most Isekai anime I find repetitive and the writing cheap but with Overlord and the brilliance of Madhouse, this anime is truly a masterpiece! Btw you just got another sub :) Plz keep the content coming.
Agreed with you up until the brilliance of madhouse bit. I love overlord but season 3 was disgusting in terms of animations. It made so many of the big battles just seem lame because of the truely terrible CGI they used. I'm not even mad they used CGI but the CGI they did use was abhorent. Glad to see they've learned their lesson as season 4's animation is great so far.

i have a video idea to you,the difference in strength between Ainz Ooal Gown,the 8 Greed Kings and the 6 Great Gods,and how they would interact if they were in the same timeline,I think Ainz would slap for the level gap and the strong NPCs+lots of world items,but i think if the 8 greed kings and the 6great gods would cooperate they might put a bit of a fight,maybe even with the dragon lords
Ains isn't a PvP build so if they're all level 100 ains wouldn't be able to 2v1 then yet alone 14v1 🤣 he's only strong compared to non other wonders.... like the lvl cap is 100 regardless of how many hrs he's played and considering they used a world treasure hundreds of years after the 6 gods died like in their prime it wouldn't be as one sided as you're assuming
I'm pretty sure the respawn mechanic was made irl and players different like the irl person might be more cautious because YOLO but earned a lot of irl battle experience but ains said after he hit level 100 he wouldn't even touch a spell less then lvl 5 which isn't really saying much about ains more about how much lvls played a role in combat which players just needed to grind long enough and even if they sucked they could be a decent level and smack a lot of big names in the irl community vt
there's no "level gap" They were all also level 100. Yggdrasil as a game was design in such a way that it was easy to get to a high level, and most of the playerbase was level 100.

(Spoilers below) 1- The 8 Greed Kings and the Six Gods were all level max (100). 2- The Greed Kings faced thousands of Dragon Lord with power ranging from normal level 100 player to higher ranked ones, and they decimated the dragon lords in question. 3- The level average among the 13 Heroes was indeed around level 40-50, but that's for the ones who weren't players. There were two players among the 13 Heroes. One we don't know his level, but the other one was someone who has started a new character (so close to level 1) for the event of the closing of the game, and then ended up in the New World. He is stated to have leveled up a lot and to have become the strongest among the 13 Heroes(not counting Platinum Dragon Lord). 4- Platinum Dragon Lord is equivalent to a mid or high rank level 100 player. His father, the Dragon Emperor, aka the one is implied to have been the cause of players coming to this world (by him using a gigantic wild dragon magic ritual to bring the world items to the New world, which in turn caused players and guild bases with world items to be brought over). This guy who was the strongest of all dragon lords, was killed by the 8 Greed Kings. 5-Other than these 3 groups of players, there have also been several more players who ended up in the New World, with several arriving every 100 years, even if in most cases they arrived individually in different locations instead of in groups. 5:09 I haven't read the webnovel but I have some doubts about the name Kami Miyako, so I looked it up and the kanji is 神都 (Shinto). If you read each kanji separately it's true that it can be read as Kami Miyako but I doubt that's how its actually read. 神 can mean god or spirit, and 都 can mean city or capital. So 神都 (Shinto) means Holy City. You can see it on the map at 9:39 right below Slane Theocracy. It says Holy City (神都) and right below that Theocracy's Capital (法国首都)
That was magnificent! As an online-only, I am exceedingly ignorant about the New World of Overlord. Anything I can learn about this world and it mad denizens would be epic.
Theocracy also keep a complete catalogue of its every citizen's magic aptitude. Useful, if they need to replace one of its Miko or scout into one of scripture.

The world item is called Downfall of Castle and Country. It was supposed to be used on another dragon lord but they decided to use it on shalltear. Halfway through the mind control process, the user got killed by shalltear and the rest retreated, which was why she was just left there alone and not actively being controlled. PDL even fought her but decided to run too since he admitted he was weaker.

They know that item won't work on PDL, they wanted to use that item on catastrophe dragon lord instead, which was supposed to revive around the time ainz arrived, and they mistook ainz's attack on nigun(sunlight scripture) as the revival of that being.
@@tizio3409 All dragons cannot use wild magic. Only "True" Dragon Lords can use wild magic. True dragon lords that can use wild magic cannot be affected by world items.
The lore of Overlord is really interesting. So much happened because of player interference which happened in this world over hundreds of years, Ainz is now changing the landscape once again as seems to have happened whenever players who are OP appear and shape the world how they want. Humans dominated for hundreds of years under the Slane Theocracy and now Ainz is building a new empire of non-humans it'll get interesting. Also the video doesn't go into detail about the Elf King, he tricked the strongest Godkin and then raped her a bunch of times to get her pregnant so he'd create a strong Godkin mixed with the most powerful elf genes. The Elves kinda sucked and probably deserved to be destroyed.

Well they pissed off Aniz so we hope that Volume 15 novel shows some payback after the conquest of The Elf kingdom cause he and the twins went on a sight seeing tour at the end of 14. The insane Elf King will try to lay his hands on the twins?? Ainz will never show pity or remorse for what will come next. Overlord is great for guessing different story lines. Demiurge slaughter all who will benefit his master. Scrolls are made from skins so live with it for the moment. Well the dirty work must be done right.
I just love how folks think (white and black-haired girl from S2,) will be a major threat, LOL Maybe for like one of the Pleades Maids. But they fight as a team, even if she got super lucky and beat them, she'd be so weak a floor guardian could breathe on her and she'd die.

@@Lorkanthal You have a point. But don't forget every Guardian is now equipped with a WCI and Ainz expressly instructed them to escape if things go south. Trying to trap a single Guardian is basically impossible. The gap in stats and equipment is way too large.

We never actually find out which Miko Clem stole the crown from. I'm guessing you found it on the wiki, people keep adding it despite it never being mentioned. However, we do find out that the Earth Miko died in a mysterious explosion. Back in season one when Ainz fights Nigun he adds an "explosion" spell to his anti divination trap, so if you try and use divination on him it will trigger and explosion where you are. Considering its a 7th tier spell it would kill any new worlder for the most part. This is most likely the cause for the earth miko's death. Which in a way, sort of proves that Clem didn't steal the crown from the earth miko. When you take a crown from a miko they go crazy and the Black Scriptures have to kill them. However, it is very hard to find someone who can use the crown of wisdom. So either clem stole the crown and they killed the miko and found a 1/million person who could use the crown and died to Ainz's explosion, or it was another miko. In the web novel we do see the ritual (water miko) used by the Slain Theocracy to spy on people. It was a 8th tier spell, but it was reduced to 7th tier in the Light Novels.
I was thought the uncertain death cause of the miko on slane kingdom that mention by the council was caused by clementine? This is a nice insight. Btw is clem is related with the leader of secret squad of slane that dispatched to met the red armor guy in the episodes before? He look really familiar to clem the moment i saw him.
Love the overlord series, but the only problem i have with it is that there is no real threat at all for Ainz. It would be more interesting if there could be some Rival player out there.
there are 2 known entities that could kill Ainz, the platinum dragon in his true form (lvl 100 wild magic user) and his father who is above level 100 and a wild magic user. Being a wild magic user means that they will not get affected by world items and they have spells that are extremelly more powerfull that even super tier magic. No idea if Ainz will clash with platinum dragon's dad but if he does that would require the help of his guardians to beat + preparation for sure.

You do have to consider that the Slane Theocracy's humanocentricism comes from their direct conflicts with demihumans in the east, who are no less barbaric than the Theocracy themselves, and how close said demihumans brought all of humanity to near extinction. Had it not been for the 6th great gods, humans, at least in this corner of the continent, would likely not exist. That is no tiny scar to heal. Both the Kingdom and the Empire do not have to worry about such threats and hence the Theocracy has a highly skewed perspective of them from the highest official down to the most common person
Another thing is that in general, a vast vast majority of humans can cast about 3rd tier magic at most, making the value of the Shaman Crowns that can cast 7th tier magic infinitely more than the person wearing it. It's destruction to save a person for the theocracy was an unthinkable idea
It’s a possibility that it developed over time. It’s also a possibility that it was taught to them by the Six Great Gods since Ainz speaks of Yggdrasil players as being very pro human themselves besides his guild.

Yes there were other players who were transported along with ainz. But they were transported at different eras of the world. That's why currently there's no so called player alive here with ainz

3- The level average among the 13 Heroes was indeed around level 40-50, but that's for the ones who weren't players. There were two players among the 13 Heroes. One we don't know his level, but the other one was someone who has started a new character (so close to level 1) for the event of the closing of the game, and then ended up in the New World. He is stated to have leveled up a lot and to have become the strongest among the 13 Heroes(not counting Platinum Dragon Lord).
4- Platinum Dragon Lord is equivalent to a mid or high rank level 100 player. His father, the Dragon Emperor, aka the one is implied to have been the cause of players coming to this world (by him using a gigantic wild dragon magic ritual to bring the world items to the New world, which in turn caused players and guild bases with world items to be brought over). This guy who was the strongest of all dragon lords, was killed by the 8 Greed Kings.
5-Other than these 3 groups of players, there have also been several more players who ended up in the New World, with several arriving every 100 years, even if in most cases they arrived individually in different locations instead of in groups. Among these are included the Minotaur Sage and a small group of players with a guy who has a World Item from the Twenty and that group and that guy were level max, and they were all slaughtered by the Deep Darkness Dragon Lord, who is now in possession of said World Item from the Twenty.
I'm listening to this video while I wait for my order of the new light novels to arrive to satiate my need for Overlord LN content, but oh my gosh, it's just making me wanna read the light novels already. Vol. 15 and 16 are gonna be so gooood.

5:09 I haven't read the webnovel but I have some doubts about the name Kami Miyako, so I looked it up and the kanji is 神都 (Shinto). If you read each kanji separately it's true that it can be read as Kami Miyako but I doubt that's how its actually read. 神 can mean god or spirit, and 都 can mean city or capital. So 神都 (Shinto) means Holy City. You can see it on the map at 9:39 right below Slane Theocracy. It says Holy City (神都) and right below that Theocracy's Capital (法国首都)

The world item is called Downfall of Castle and Country. It was supposed to be used on another dragon lord but they decided to use it on shalltear. Halfway through the mind control process, the user got killed by shalltear and the rest retreated, which was why she was just left there alone and not actively being controlled. PDL even fought her but decided to run too since he admitted he was weaker.

They know that item won't work on PDL, they wanted to use that item on catastrophe dragon lord instead, which was supposed to revive around the time ainz arrived, and they mistook ainz's attack on nigun(sunlight scripture) as the revival of that being.

The lore of Overlord is really interesting. So much happened because of player interference which happened in this world over hundreds of years, Ainz is now changing the landscape once again as seems to have happened whenever players who are OP appear and shape the world how they want. Humans dominated for hundreds of years under the Slane Theocracy and now Ainz is building a new empire of non-humans it'll get interesting.
Also the video doesn't go into detail about the Elf King, he tricked the strongest Godkin and then raped her a bunch of times to get her pregnant so he'd create a strong Godkin mixed with the most powerful elf genes. The Elves kinda sucked and probably deserved to be destroyed.
Just curious, how would the elf king rape her if she is supposedly the strongest godkin though? I can't imagine that happening

As to how was he able to subdue a Godkin? Well, he is not very strong all things considered, but he may have been stronger than Zesshi's mother, remember, not all Godkin are the same level, the mother could have been strong in her generation, bug got surpassed by the current Captain of the Black Scripture

The insane Elf King will try to lay his hands on the twins?? Ainz will never show pity or remorse for what will come next. Overlord is great for guessing different story lines. Demiurge slaughter all who will benefit his master. Scrolls are made from skins so live with it for the moment. Well the dirty work must be done right.

Yes. Zeshhi is stronger than the maids but far weaker compared to the Floor Guardians.
@@rampagepotato4307 their advantage is they would have numbers and equipment that is actually useful on their side. So if the whole blackscripture managed to isolate a floor guardian they could actually put up a decent fight.

Trying to trap a single Guardian is basically impossible. The gap in stats and equipment is way too large.

We never actually find out which Miko Clem stole the crown from.
I'm guessing you found it on the wiki, people keep adding it despite it never being mentioned.
However, we do find out that the Earth Miko died in a mysterious explosion.
Back in season one when Ainz fights Nigun he adds an "explosion" spell to his anti divination trap, so if you try and use divination on him it will trigger and explosion where you are. Considering its a 7th tier spell it would kill any new worlder for the most part.
This is most likely the cause for the earth miko's death.
Which in a way, sort of proves that Clem didn't steal the crown from the earth miko.
When you take a crown from a miko they go crazy and the Black Scriptures have to kill them.
However, it is very hard to find someone who can use the crown of wisdom.
So either clem stole the crown and they killed the miko and found a 1/million person who could use the crown and died to Ainz's explosion, or it was another miko.
In the web novel we do see the ritual (water miko) used by the Slain Theocracy to spy on people.
It was a 8th tier spell, but it was reduced to 7th tier in the Light Novels.
I was thought the uncertain death cause of the miko on slane kingdom that mention by the council was caused by clementine? This is a nice insight. Btw is clem is related with the leader of secret squad of slane that dispatched to met the red armor guy in the episodes before? He look really familiar to clem the moment i saw him.

there are 2 known entities that could kill Ainz, the platinum dragon in his true form (lvl 100 wild magic user) and his father who is above level 100 and a wild magic user. Being a wild magic user means that they will not get affected by world items and they have spells that are extremelly more powerfull that even super tier magic. No idea if Ainz will clash with platinum dragon's dad but if he does that would require the help of his guardians to beat + preparation for sure.

You do have to consider that the Slane Theocracy's humanocentricism comes from their direct conflicts with demihumans in the east, who are no less barbaric than the Theocracy themselves, and how close said demihumans brought all of humanity to near extinction. Had it not been for the 6th great gods, humans, at least in this corner of the continent, would likely not exist. That is no tiny scar to heal. Both the Kingdom and the Empire do not have to worry about such threats and hence the Theocracy has a highly skewed perspective of them from the highest official down to the most common person
Another thing is that in general, a vast vast majority of humans can cast about 3rd tier magic at most, making the value of the Shaman Crowns that can cast 7th tier magic infinitely more than the person wearing it. It's destruction to save a person for the theocracy was an unthinkable idea
It’s a possibility that it developed over time. It’s also a possibility that it was taught to them by the Six Great Gods since Ainz speaks of Yggdrasil players as being very pro human themselves besides his guild.
