Hi. I watched this video & understood what you were doing. I've also read a lot of the comments on here and I'm surprised it doesn't make you want to give it up! I have recently brought a 520d 2009 off of a garage owner who assured me that he had "cleaned" the DPF and that i wouldn't have any problems with it but after a month it as good as died. It reminded me of about 40 years ago when we would shove spuds up friends exhausts. The DPF was in fact blocked solid. I have put on a new DPF but now the car keeps trying to regen and belches out burning diesel smoke. I have also had to change the oil & filter as the sump was full of diesel. My question to you is do you think I should now buy a new cat and then maybe it will be ok for 6 months or should I "clean" the DPF and update the software? At the moment i really wish i'd never seen the car. Brilliant videos and how to's. Keep up the good work, some of us appreciate it!
