This was amongst the most helpful content to see how I'd like this library. I hope this doesn't seem picky: before publishing your video, if you automate the vocal mic to mute when you're playing it will get rid of all of the finger-board noise, microphonic booms etc. so we'll hear the pure sound of the library. Especially on my headphones it's really distracting from what you're otherwise awesome and very helpful post! Cheers and thanks again!
Thanks for the feedback! I totally understand. You are right. I was a newb here and didn't split out my mic vs the daw output to be able to separate the mix. In subsequent vids I've corrected this by moving my boom arm off the desk to avoid the desk shocks and we have a new Shure SM7B to pickup less ambience :) Glad you found the video helpful nonetheless!
@@AlvinSWongMusic Do you think the percussion that come with this library will be good for "Main Title" from Game Of Thrones? Im planning to make it when I get AB1 :)
I think you should be able to make a great cover track of that. Might just be missing some taiko drums and dulcimer though which I think I heard in the Ramin’s orchestration.
Depends on what you are looking for. It is good for delicate "angelic" soothing choir legato and longs. I wouldn't say it would be suitable or versatile to go into anything "epic' trailer type choirs. For example, there are no staccatissimo phrases. But I have Met Ark 1, Lacrimosa or even Nucleus choirs for those so far. Whitacre Choir is good for soft ooh, aah, mmm natural pristine recordings. Hope that helps!
Hey great video !! Do you know about they have updated Abbey Road One with legato function ?! I jast watched a video from Spitfire (from 2nd March) which shows the legato function. Have you heard about an update ? THX & Kind Regards
Thanks! Abbey Road One Foundations does not have it as per their design/plan. The legato patches are so far only available for the separate Legendary Low Strings and Sparkling Woodwinds packs you can buy.
@@AlvinSWongMusic thank you for your answer. It was because I was just watching this video. Threr I sae the legato. ruclips.net/video/NaZDNIZ392o/видео.html
Hi, I'm just starting out and I'm really disoriented. I've a lot of free libraries but I can hear the difference in quality of the commercial ones. I'm still esperimenting with genres so, I don't have a style or a voice. there are many all in one offers in this price range, even only from spitfire itself. do you think ARO is a good choice? considering the lack of legatos and the numerous add one that will come out in the future it could be one of their more expensive. Usually when a company sticks the "abbey road" name on a product it will become more expensive eve if the quality is the same of some products of their "normal"line do you think this is the case? between spitfire products I'm constantly switching interest between Abbey road One, BBCSO and Albion One. if you should choose one of these what would it be?
Hi Jose, Abbey Road One or Albion One? That is a great question that I'm seeing a lot. I'll be doing a video on thoughts on this topic! Regarding DAWs you use, both work just fine with both. It would be a big problem if either had issues with them for Spitfire support and their target market of composers. That shouldn't affect your decision of which library you choose. Hope that helps :)!
I too wish there were free templates available out there along the same lines as that from www.spitfireaudiothepage.com/templates. The only one I have heard of seems to be pretty comprehensive for sale at epicomposer.com/shop/. I have no affiliation with epicomposer.com and haven't tried it myself. Curious how it is if you or anyone gives it a go.
If you use Logic, I have a template available at github.com/Justin-L-Franks/spitfire-abbey-road-one-logic-template. It is for v1.0.2 of the library though, and needs some minor edits to some of the custom patches (I created user patches which only include the articulation(s) for each track, which are included with the template). I skipped the 1.0.5 update due to several reported issues / bugs it introduced, and only just updated to 1.0.7 a few days ago. I should have the template / patches updated for 1.0.7 in the next few days. It has a pretty simple setup and routing. Each ensemble / instrument has three tracks: one for longs, one for shorts, and one for "other". The third track is swells for the full orchestra, brass, and woods, and pizzicato + tremolo for the strings. For percussion, the three tracks are drums, metals, and tuned. The routing is Section articulation type(s) ==> Full section articulation type(s) ==> Full section ==> Full mix So, for the low string longs, it is Low strings longs ==> Strings longs ==> Strings ==> Full mix.

Thank you Alvin.

Great video thanks 🙏🏻
Thanks for watching!
I love the percussion in abbey road one because of its percussion selection.
Yeah the percussion is great with that large space yet balanced tails and reflections.

@@AlvinSWongMusic LABS has a great free dulcimer I mostly use the fingered articulation.
Perfect
Great video brother. What's your opinion on the Eric Whitacre Choir? It's currently on sale for $299 and I can't decide.

Hi. Checkout my video on Abbey Road One vs Albion One for comparisons there. Maybe it’ll help you out!
Hi, what library do you recommend? Abbey road one or Albion One? is there any difference in using these libraries with DAW logic or cubase? Thanks

I just released the video discussing these two libraries. ruclips.net/video/AlUn0QhL47s/видео.html
If you had to choose, would you go with just abbey road one or just BBC symphony orchestra Core?
BBCSO Core. Diversity of articulations and a few more instruments make it a good one if i were to only have one.
Hey do you have any suggestions on a template for this I just recently purchased this.

So, for the low string longs, it is Low strings longs ==> Strings longs ==> Strings ==> Full mix.
Thanks, Justin! Hope that helps the Logic folks. Love that you use GitHub for version control 😉.
