Glad to see Mojang foreshadowing their random mobs attribute update. Selective breeding will go insane after that one.
I wouldn't mind dogs being 10% smaller or bigger randomly, and being able to breed them to get up to 25% or so bigger than the base 100%. Would be fun if it also slightly buffed their stats too, like horses!
HONESTLY that would go kinda crazy. would be a very neat way to make dogs even better. plus, maybe it could be cool for other mobs too like farm animals. maybe a bigger cow will drop more beef, so you kill all the smaller cows in your farm and breed the big ones. its a small change but would be very cool to play with. maybe some even more complex features, like maybe some dogs do more damage, which will require a LOT more work to test for when breeding which would be neat.

As an artist who has drawn for 5 years by this point, the dog is bigger, you are correct, but it is not as big as the player. If you consider the FOV, angle of the dog's head, and flatten it (so to speak), the dog is actually 1.5 blocks tall and is basically half the size of the player. This is just taking a look at the stump of the tree an the shadow that is being cast from the dog's tail which would be on the mossy cobble if the angle of the sun was the same in the image. This was done in 3D, (I've also worked there longer than 2D art; aka about 7 years), which makes this less of a mistake and more of a slight scaling change to make the dog more prominent in the image. Art doesn't always have to be consistent. It's art. Taking creative liberties to make something stand out is not a mistake. But pointing out these things are. I'm not saying any of this is wrong, but consider that you are not an artist an there may be some things that are just artist standard rather than a random redditor's or your own. I still love your videos, they are entertaining and wonderful to watch, but as someone who is very experienced in this field that you are accidently criticizing is something that I just had to correct and comment on. I hope you or anyone else doesn't take this as hate, keep going and improving. :)

2) technically speaking the player is "fine" in this instance cause its applying the likes of what we have seen in trailers where the characters, specifically what seem to be "player" characters, seem to "wobble" or "lurch" forward when performing actions. So while this character is ~2 blocks away from the tree the movement and momentum that the character has when swinging the axe will pull them forward enough to connect with the tree. This of course breaks in the sense of the game

The night this video was released, I fell asleep, and I imagined a pheonixsc video that is literally just 20 seconds of those weird rendered jelly character steves, like those random clips that appear, just that.
2:25 there is no way that is one block, just use the other blocks for reference. That is clearly a 2 block gap. And if it is stretched then why is everything else absolutely normal looking?

the issue with this is that *nothing* in the key art is to scale. the player isn't two blocks either, im not even sure all of the blocks are the same size. the dog is 4x bigger than it's supposed to be in relation to blocks, but its less ridiculously huge if you use the player to judge its scale.

I'm so amazed, I've also played Minecraftle quite a bit, and piston -> campfire -> daylight detector is my most common start as well (there's not many good choices, but it's cool to see that different minecrafters think alike)

2:39 there literally is an an example of 1 block size just a bit lower on the screen. That is 2 blocks of width.

if you look at the dog, it's just perspective.
1, the dog is up on what looks like its hind-legs, meaning it seems bigger as it's closer.
2, it's stretching out it's front legs, making it appear longer.
3, the tail is just at a perfect angle making it seem a blocks length.
(as for the other dog, it's actually just larger)

There's a fantastic new bug involving trial chambers. Mobs can pick up your own items, and because it's classified as a trial chamber mob, it doesn't drop them on death

I think that podzol area is actually one block wide. Look at the blocks next to/below it in the image. There are blocks that are much shorter, but with the same perspective and in the same area
the podzol on the floor is 2 blocks, as you can see from the bordering grass and podzol on the corner.
it doesnt mask the fact that the dog was 2 times bigger since it was massively overlapping a block of podzol and grass.
once you notice the size discrepency it's hard to unsee it haha
Ngl it'd be pretty cool if we had a breed of wolf in Minecraft that when tamed would be a dog 4x the size of a normal dog AND when given a saddle they would be your very own transport pup! maybe slower than a horse and incapable of high jumps but would be tough to be killed by a creeper and be inclined to attack whatever you attack either on foot or while riding. Also maybe one of those barrel things under its neck if you right click the big boy with a barrel. Like a Saint Benard dog! (yes I know the barrel is a myth)
When you are chopping wood you take a step foward add momentum to your hit
you have to consider when swinging an axe you're supposed to lean forward to reach the tree so yes he could actually reach that.
