If you watch the vr one carefully, you can see it catches on the boundary pillar thing, which then leads it to tipping. Whether it removes fault from the manufacturer (maybe there should be a sensor to check if it's suddenly stopped to stop a tipping), but the person who set up the pillar would have a clear fault
Or the manual didn't specify that you need space like a 4-foot radius of room to operate. then you could argue that it's the manufacturer's fault. but if It did then why didn't the operator or owner think about this. since it was foreseeable that the game could move that there shouldn't be any object in the way to cause harm (like the boundary pillar why did the owner put it so close.)
Regarding the bridge, ships can't stop all that fast. They can be massive with lots of momentum and nothing solid to brake against. Depending on how close the ship is, not raising the bridge to protect a pedestrian who is on the bridge could endanger everyone on the ship.

As a former mechanic, i need to intervene in the brake failure incident. Like Tom says so often, it depends. There are two types of braking system for trucks : Hydraulic and Pneumatic. Hydraulic is what we find in cars. Pneumatic is what we find on long haul trucks. It is regulated by an air compressor (which is a motor engine without sparks). The way it works is simple : the brakes are attached to "Boosters" that push on them with powerful springs. So the default status of the brakes is on. To have the truck to move, you need to build enough air pressure to compress the springs and free the brakes. If a pneumatic system fails, the springs will push on the brake pads and the truck will stop. If a hydraulic system fails, you are S.O.O.L. so pull out your list of prayers and get on with it fast. With that said, a broken spring, a leak at the wrong spot, a faulty compressor are all plausible for a failure like the video shows, but is unlikely. Hydraulic system leak is the most probable cause. (which is why i hate them so much on long haul or delivery trucks.)
I had water Coming into the inside of my car like that when I was driving at night in the rain. I think there was an overflow in the drain holes under the hood where a bunch of Pineneedles had plugged it up so all the water that was running down the windshield was going inside my car over the firewall.
Yeah makes me think of the halifax explosions. 2 ships, one had right of way both refused to move over till it was too late and you can not stop that shit in time However being they were approaching a lift bridge they usually slow or arent at full speed so they may have still had reactionary time. @@JB-od1pi from my memory of how it was told to me one ship was in the wrong lane though i dont remember why and my memory could be faulty or it was told to me wrong. But they refused to give right of way too the other and the other also refused to shift over to avoid the collision until it was too late because they were standing by the right of way rules. However yeah the response and how the surviving crew just abandoned ship instead of trying to help ( from what I remember being told) ended up being held at fault for not doing more which I think was compounded by the fact that most if not all crew survivors only came from one ship. I have heard it told a few times most recently was when Plainly Difficult covered it. The only part I do remember to a degree of certainty is the dude who stayed behind to warn people (i think incoming train?) And it ended up being at the expense of his life. That story would be told growing up on TV during one of the Heritage Minutes clips that came on in the morning. 8:20 semi truck breaks are generally a compressed air system and those things are very strong and do work well but they are an all or nothing system. Stay up on your brake fluid changes as well. Learned from experience that brake fluid issues can cause your breaks to fail very suddenly and unexpectedly. Thankful for a small truck, slow speeds, and an emergency brake.
Aww! Attorney Tom thinks the breaks failing is about the break pads, that's kinda adorable. Usually the tractor trailers have a failure in the air lines for the air breaks and they just can't be applied at all. It's actually fairly common and that's why they have run off ramps on highways.
Gargo ships can not always wait, they're heavy, you can't just step on the break, there's a reason yearly bridges all over the world accidentally get completely destroyed.
On the VR Machine it fell over because when it was turning it got stuck on the pole so the only way it could continue to spin at that point was for the rear portion to spin
I disagree with "cannot lift the bridge." depends on the type of ship that is coming. If it's a large vessel that cannot stop in time, bridge needs to go up regardless.

@@crazy_mind-ox8if Or was he secretly hoping the players would think the child was the ball.
I had to pray away my sins after laughing at a few of these. OMG lolololo, there I go again!
6:30 Mom is like WTF? Dad's just laughing away.
That "Oooh I fucked up" was PERFECT 🤣🤣🤣
Now just waiting for someone to send in the knowledge tape measure.
I don't know who to sue? The answer is always "all of the above". Whoever has insurance to go after
As a former mechanic, i need to intervene in the brake failure incident.
Also known as "fail-safe" and "fail-deadly". Sometimes literally.
4:05 fun fact. Ships don't stop that quick.
I had water Coming into the inside of my car like that when I was driving at night in the rain. I think there was an overflow in the drain holes under the hood where a bunch of Pineneedles had plugged it up so all the water that was running down the windshield was going inside my car over the firewall.
As a former car wash operator, If something is happening during the ride lay on the horn and someone will emergency shut off it…. Probably.
The ship cannot, in fact, always wait. It can take miles for a large cargo ship to slow to a stop.
When you get a new Knowledge Hammer, every TikTok video looks like a nail.
Big ships have a slower stopping time then you might think. They have right of way for a reason.
Yeah makes me think of the halifax explosions. 2 ships, one had right of way both refused to move over till it was too late and you can not stop that shit in time
However being they were approaching a lift bridge they usually slow or arent at full speed so they may have still had reactionary time. I dont know for sure as I never have been or ever will be a part of a ship crew and I havent had someone with experience explain the nuances to me.
I could google it but I am lazy, stoned and dont wanna get off youtube mobile knowing i wont remember to look it up later
@@jewels3846 I thought the imo tried to move over to avoid the mount blanc (the ship with all of the explosives) but could not do so in time, and the imo had to move over to avoid other ships in the wrong shipping lane. Historic travels has a video from a year ago about it. The explosion happened roughly 20 minutes after the collision, they could have evacuated more people.
(jesus my memory is bad I need to refresh this the more i try to retell it i can tell i dont know enough details)
So yeah I see how full of holes my memory is on this and I am gonna refresh myself on the topic before I try to claim anything else because even I can see that I do not remember enough or know it well enough to talk about it.
How could you eat ants and not notice? They have such a distinct flavour.
Ships can always stop says tom. Tom do you realise a ship is harder to stop that a train? Its also really expensive to stop a big ship if doing it at full reverse like in an emergency.
I used to go over that bridge in duluth when I went running. Ive heard that dude tell people to get off before lol. Its used by people on foot a lot because its right in the middle of downtown.
at 4:48, it's not a defect of the ride, you can see the 'seat' just hits a barrier on the left, causing it to fall.
4:25
7:50 that car in the opposing lane either had no reactions at all or was frozen in fear because if a truck comes toward me horns blaring i'm leaving the road
With the truck one I've heard from class mates that some slack adjusters the thing that creates a mechanical advantage to push the brake drum shoes harder than just air pressure can do have been snapping a class mate had replaced some on a truck and 2 snapped when he pushed the brake or the could be out of adjustment or just had brake fade
Hey, Have you seen that Amber Heard used a lot of movie quotes in her testimony do u recommend this to people or is this something she did on her own
I want a video of this!
You want the truth? You can't handle the truth!
8:20 semi truck breaks are generally a compressed air system and those things are very strong and do work well but they are an all or nothing system. They don't gradually get worse like pads do they just work fine one day and fail completely the next. Regular inspection CAN catch it but there's a lot of air line to check and shit does just get missed some times.
@3:10. Tom being happy the toddler didnt get drop kicked.
@1:25 NOOOO IM GLAD IM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO DOES THISSSSSSS LMFAO CAT FLIP
First we have Tom drop kicking toddlers, now this woman is kicking cats… what kind of trend have you started Tom?!?!
The car oils is leaking into car seats floorboards meaning that the entire car isn't properly built.
tom ships can't slow or stop. their stopping distance is massive
*sues Tom for hitting me with a knowledge hammer*
The ship cannot always stop.
Yo. I had a great idea. Ants protein cookies, where you list ants in the ingredients but you don't advertise it.
It’s only if you run and get caught, when you add some extra spice to your sentence
We do not endorse running from the cops, BUT if you get away, you deserve it
4:02 technically speaking the ship might not be able to kill its momentum... If you do this you might end up having to pay for a lot of damages...
Multiple people have been killed recently on draw Bridges from attendance that weren't paying attention
I just watched The law no one will tell you. Holy smokes your audio is so much better now
Tom my leather chair is stained now after I farded, can sue google?
I love that the new KH 🔨 was the star of this video😂
9:00 one of the guys i know threw a block of some material idk how to translate the name of off of a building and hit a cqr as well, but this was like 12 or 13th floor
my OSHA manual suddenly exploded and caused me physical harm and mental anguish.
can I sue this tick-tock creator?
There are several brands of multi grain crackers that look just like it. The black spots are probably cracked pepper. They are actually pretty good.
Play Dough is actually non toxic. Flour, salt, water, and dye. Tastes gross, but unless you have Celiac or need to avoid salt, then there's very low risk of health issues.
In some circumstances a ship can slow or stop it's momentum.
I'm fairly confident that the lady in the carwash maybe just did not have a car cabin filter installed, but its still odd that its shooting though the cabin though.
Stay up on your brake fluid changes as well. Learned from experience that brake fluid issues can cause your breaks to fail very suddenly and unexpectedly. Thankful for a small truck, slow speeds, and an emergency brake.
Ships can't stop quickly - but IMO it was the right call regardless not to raise the bridge.
If I go to a convention for people with sensitive noses and start farting after eating Arby's, am I getting in trouble?
With the ship bridge.Depending on the size they just don't stop on a dime regardless of speed travelling.
7:00 - Holy shit. She didn't even open the door!
I live "near" that lift bridge, I remember when that happened
PLAY DOH IS NON-TOXIC! I learned this from the Simpsons.
The ship may not be able to wait. Ships can be huge. To minimize disruption they hold off on lifting the bridges until the ships are close.
On the VR Machine it fell over because when it was turning it got stuck on the pole so the only way it could continue to spin at that point was for the rear portion to spin
Ships can not wait.
“Even if they are a total dumb ahh” 💀💀
well now i know why you have to stop so far back from a school bus
I disagree with "cannot lift the bridge." depends on the type of ship that is coming. If it's a large vessel that cannot stop in time, bridge needs to go up regardless.
Tom Thrivefantasy won’t pay me my winnings I need your assistance
8:40 Yes, nobody got hurt, but what happens now, does everybody just say "whew! that was close!" and move on with their lives and the truck-driver goes to get their brakes serviced, or do the police still have to be called to do, um, something? 🤔
2:45 it's funny, I was instructed to not use wet floor signs when I was a janitor due to some idiot texting on his phone tripped and hurt himself on the wet floor sign
4:05 depending on how big and how fast, haha no
At retail we put them up but are instructed not directly in the pathway unless absoloutle necessary (we have used it in direct paths because of peoples poop on the floor (3 instances I personally saw in 8 years) or something heavy fell breaking floor tile up and we needed to cover up the trip hazard.
I'm sorry, but if I'm driving down the road and there's a semi blairing it's horn coming at me, I'm getting off the road.
