    I Lived and worked here between 1977-82. It was fun back then and Probably some of the best years of my life looking back.. It looks like it’s changed a lot but I can still recognise certain buildings and Attractions. I lived in Loosduinen. I’m 70 years old now but I would imagine it’s still a very friendly and exiting City. Happy days.

    • @williamgeardener2509
      @williamgeardener2509 2 года назад +5

      It's almost impossible to find housing in the Netherlands unless you pay excessive rent. The demand for housing is very much higher than the supply and there's nothing that indicates this will change any time soon. Thanks to the fact that Netherlands is going to solve the climate change problem all on its own, it's very hard for contractors to build new houses. On top of that the Dutch government is inviting foreigners from all over the world to come to a country that doesn't even has enough housing to accommodate Dutch people.

      No its not rent is cheap in the hague compared to amsterdam and rotterdam easy to find accommodation

      2500 net is more than enough. I earn 2200 net and can still save about 600-800 per month while paying 500 euros rent and having a car. I'm living in a cheaper city so you'll probably have to pay several hundreds more on rent but with that salary you'll be fine

    We make around 27,000 euro net per month. Is this enough to live comfortably in Den Haag? How are private top tier per and elementary schools?

    • @thehagueinternationalcentre
      @thehagueinternationalcentre  2 года назад +1

      You can find an estimate of the cost of living in The Hague online via www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/in/The-Hague-Den-Haag-Netherlands. If your average monthly income is €27,000, then you should be able to live quite comfortably.
      Children in the Netherlands begin primary education from the age of 4 and spans 8 years. There are 4 types of elementary school in The Netherlands:
      • Public schools ('openbare basisscholen'): Schools, open to all children, that do not follow a specific educational or religious view
      • Specialised schools ('scholen voor bijzonder onderwijs'): Schools where children are taught from a religious or philosophical point of view
      • Extended schools ('brede scholen'): Schools that work closely with other organizations to provide better education e.g. in sports or music
      • General specialised schools ('algemeen bijzondere scholen'): Schools that teach according to their vision of education and upbringing (not religious). Examples include Montessori and Dalton Plan schools. Montessori schools teach with the belief that a child should be given possibilities to develop freely and naturally as well as receive personalised education; emphasis is put on children's individuality.
      • There are also various international elementary schools. You can find an overview here.
      Overall, the education system is quite good and the quality of education is high, regardless of which school you choose. Things to consider when choosing a school are: integration (how long will you stay here? Do you want your children to learn Dutch), costs (for instance: international/private schools charge a hefty fee, public school is free), and curriculum (nternational Baccalaureate, foreign national curriculum, Dutch education curriculum).

    • @annekathleen4498
      @annekathleen4498 9 месяцев назад

      @@jrcreator2257 well 27,000 a month is a lot of money compared to an average Dutch wage, you can live very well in the Hague. In the 'free sector housing you can rent beautiful properties and still have 20,000 to live on. Your comment is from a year ago but if it's still relevant you should look at 'Statenkwartier' or even Scheveningen for housing. Statenkwartier is where you will find lots of expats and it's a very nice area to live.
