Like a dark, dystopic cousin of the famous video for ‘Take on me’, the video for 'This is now America’ is a lament for an American dream in tatters.
Inside a detailed hand-drawn universe filled with pop-cultural references from the 80’s, the ominous and at times disturbing narrative follows a lost adolescent character on the verge of self-destruction, hiding from and peeking out on a troubled, disintegrating world.

Não vejo americanos saindo de seu país pra viver em outros, fugindo do desemprego ou de guerras ou de perseguições políticas. Não digo que é o modelo perfeito de sociedade, até porque esse ainda estão pra inventar, mas é mais fácil criticar do que construir algo realmente bom. É um trabalho do Magne a página do A-ha só está divulgando provavelmente com a autorização deles.
O que acontece é que o Magne aderiu a lacração, resolveu criticar o estilo de vida americano falando que os americanos são tarados assassinos , frustados e consumistas. Essa raiva toda é por causa do Trump pois os artistas não suportam nenhum governo de direita conservador pois corta os privilégios . I would like to state that this is not a release by the band a-ha...it is by Magne Furuholmen who as well as being a member of the band, is a Conceptual Artist in his own right. This is a solo project in which he created the music and lyrics in collaboration with his son and others who helped make the video. It may be uncomfortable for some Americans, but they are not usually reticent in voicing their opinions of other countries nor is their government, at getting mired in the politics and even regime change of other states. It cannot then be wrong for those of us who are not American to observe and pass comment on the current mess the USA is in, as Magne does here. It is after all called free speech, something you Americans are supposed to value above all else!
More rich marxists shoveling their bs while keeping their riches. F right off. They likely prefer the senile old kid toucher and sniffer Joe Xiden who is an extreme racist and supports Chinese slave labor and the oppression of women and the murder of LGBTQ+ in Iran.
It would just be good to know what exactly he is saying. It all seems a bit vague. I'm ok with hearing other peoples' opinions, as long as they seem to be able to articulate it. All I get from this song is negativity and distain. I don't know, maybe offer a solution or an alternative?
