Undoubtedly the 80s was the best time for music where the best and more beautiful melodies were written. The 80s is an eternal epoque.
In 1988 I remember when I ran to buy the cassette "Stay on These Roads" I still have it, I see this video and those feelings of nostalgia and melancholy come back to me again, this song is those Roads that take me for 4 minutes and 46 seconds to those unique times of the 80's, thanks A-Ha for making us so happy ❤

❤ 1988 - I remember me driving by bus for 2 hours across the whole town to that one music shop, that was known to have the newest albums first. Carefully unwrapping the mint cassette with this song being the #1. Going slowly all the way back, while listening to this on a brand new casette on my walkman. The happiest kid ever I was that day.

I’m 22, when I was 13 my mom introduced me to a bunch of music from the 80s and this particular song always touched a place in my heart and still does. When music is good music is timeless💙

Every time I listen to these guys, I'm always reminded of my friend, Benito Lombardi. He moved to the states from Italy way back in '86, his mom started dating my next door neighbor shortly after.
I remember when I first met the guy, he tried to talk about music, but had such different tastes that I just flat out didn't know any of the bands he talked about, except A-ha. I knew "Take On Me", but none of their other music, and being a bit of an elitist metalhead, didn't care to learn about it. Eventually, Benito wore me down and got me to listen to a song of theirs, one I'll never forget. On that day, "Manhattan Skyline" turned me into a believer.
Him and I bonded over these guys. I still remember his smug smile when he got his parents to play "Hunting High and Low" at their wedding. I remember him being really hyped for this album in particular.
But then he got leukemia around that time. The doctors said he only had a few months to live, and his parents were going bankrupt trying to keep up with the hospital bills, so he just gave up hope on listening to this before it released.
Miraculously, he lived long enough to see this album's release, so I bought it for him on day 1, and got cleared to visit him. I still remember how happy he was to be able to hear this.
He died 3 days later. It's been more than 33 years, but I still think of him every time I hear these guys come on the radio.
Rest in peace Benito "Benny" Harvey. Miss ya big man.
