Meu querido eu ouço A-HA desde que eu tinha 7 anos, minha mãe foi no Show deles no Pacaembu junto com meu tio, amo todas as musicas e consegui realizar um dos meus sonhos depois de anos em Fev 2019 que era ir à um show deles em Munique. Ameiiii, cantei, chorei, enfim a minha musica preferida é Crying in the rain, me faz voar, sair do corpo assim como Lifelines. Amo esses caras!!! Parabéns pra vcs q tb tem bom gosto.

What's interesting about your comment is that you are actually in agreement with Pedro, yet formed your comment into an argument which is moot since in fact there is nothing to argue. You are right, there are multiple reasons why Take On Me is more recognizable, i.e. the fact it is the only A-ha song to reach the Billboard top 100 in part due to the success of the music video and airplay on radio and MTV... Pedro mentions that "it is sad that most people only recognize Take On Me as their only hit", which is absolutely true for reasons I mentioned. So good luck with that one. lol

Perfection. As a musician, the arrangement and songwriting in this song blows me away every single time I hear it. A-ha was the first band I really loved, and to this day it amazes me with how good they were.
Yer very underrated all round tbh made some very good songs,, alot of them went under the carpet as well shame,,
Songwriting, yes. Phenomenal voice, yes. But it was the arrangement and production that doomed them in the U.S. It was more suited to Europeans and other countries and simply did not fit in with what was going on in the U.S. at that time.

Culture differences from culture and i guess this song wasnt popular enough to make it into US chartboards, and was more fitted for success in european countries than foreign contries, like the USA. I'm just glad i discovered this song years ago from my awesome neighbour Norway :)
@@tanzboden I lived through the 80's in my late teens and early twenties. Take on Me was a huge hit. And their follow-up Sun Always Shines on TV was a flop. After that you never heard from them again. But I devoured as much music as possible and gave them a try with their next few follow-up albums. But they simply did not fit in with other music in the 80's. No one I knew liked them. It was not until I heard the MTV Unplugged concert a few years ago that made me go wow, some of these songs are awesome. Because the arrangement was different. And then I went back and listened to all their stuff and realized that many of their songs over the years are awesome, but simply did not fit in with the other music going on at the time of the releases. But my wife's brother who has been a British citizen since the 70's said that A-ha were always huge in Europe. I'm glad I rediscovered them and now have 60-some of their songs on my Spotify playlist (including Morten and Paul's solo stuff).

Esse vídeo clipe mudou a forma que iria viver minha vida no futuro próximo e distante. A primeira vez que vi foi em 1993, meu irmão era fan do a-ha. Eu era uma criança. E quando vi esse clipe que meu irmão tinha em uma fita de vídeo cassete , virei fan do aha. E aí começou meu interesse pelo inglês, o resultado disso é que hoje falo inglês fluente e vivo a mais de 14 na Austrália.

But I think the meaning of the song is different from the sentence "the husband was searching high and low" in any case. I personally think, it's about mankind's lunacy searching for extreme emotions in the outside when hunting or to "hunt" an object of desire, not seeing and realising that the hunter himself has an empty heart and needs energy from the outside; a soul without light so to speak, which explains the world we are living in today. Pure lunacy, on every level. As for many bands in the 80s, they have long-seen and talked about the nonsense we are heading too and now, after not listening and understanding, we are here...
@@miketemplar Thanks Mike. I read that it's a song he composed based on a personal situation he was going through after meeting the woman who is now his wife. She met him in England, and she had to return to the U.S., and he wrote the song at a time in which he thought he'd never see her again.

@@heitorsantos7046 A adolescência foi uma fase perigosa, as armadilhas que vieram em forma de falsos amigos, me chamavam para um mundo cheio de "curtição", com o tempo eu valorizei muito o dia de hoje, cada segundo que se passa agora é o resultado de suas escolhas, se eu estou vivo, fiz a escolha certa, e sinceramente, eu só não voltaria pra adolescência por causa das milhares de coisas que acontecem mentalmente, dúvidas e etc rs

This is not surprising at all, since they have some true hapiness in live theirs lives that others dont have. If you have some curiosity, check the ip adresses of those 80"s songs videos and you see that almost 50% of the traffic is coming from Brazil alone. But, dont be upset about it.
