- Dr Craig Fry organised 15 cyclists to ride from Melbourne to Warrnambool as a tribute to the 125th year of the great race. We set off at 4:30 on the 14th December 2020.
The M2W is the second oldest bike race in the world to Liege Bastogne Liege. Ranging from 260 to 330km, it was also the longest one day bike race in the world for many years.

Ah yes.....Have enjoyed your videos a ton..especially this time of the year here in Wisconsin. Temps here over the last couple of weeks have been in the single digits with lows at night well below zero. But enough about winter.....My, I guess you had some big hitters on that ride!!! Maven. It’s late but WHAT a post. One of your best, if I may indulge. Earlier this month we bade farewell to a legend in my life. Graeme Smart. He podiumed once in the Warnie and crashed on Raglan another time. He taught a few of us more about riding than any others. Thanks for this. It reminds me of the iconic stature of this event and those who compete. Bless you Smartie we miss you!

I studied in Warrnambool ,in 1997 rode to Melbourne 270km in 9 hours with a slight tail wind. Couldn't do it now .Warrnambool has some great ,quiet roads.

This video makes me happy for a number of reasons. Firstly, being in the UK in the middle of a very grim and very locked-down winter it's great to see warm weather rides where people can shake hands, be near each other and ride in a group - all highly restricted in the this-is-how-not-to-handle-a-pandemic UK. Perhaps we should have watched the way Victoria locked it right down in August and seen that it actually worked.
But secondly, it's great to see you again riding your bike Mark, and making videos. More power to you pal..!
It's Queensland you should be looking at for how to handle the crisis.Queensland has always been the butt of jokes about us having 2 heads etc but many thousands from down south escaped here to their holiday homes before lockdown. Some multimillionaires & a few celebrities hired yachts & sailed here. Wrongly IMO only the skipper eneded up in court. The only change to our lifestyle was once I was asked to wear a mask to an eye check up. Southerners are buying up our properties sight unseen at prices 30-40% more than their pre virus value. Tourism is thriving. Victoria was the worst affected state.

Qld hasn’t done anything special,it’s NSW that should take the prize. Considering the throughput of internationals through that state they’ve done incredibly well in the absence of harsh lockdown measures. The border control game playing shenanigans from the Qld premier have been a little unbecoming.

Great video and such a cool looking ride. I can only imagine that kinda pace those guys were sitting on. You did very well to hang on for as long as you did. The fulIl course is a major ask of most people.
