Just awesome. Pleased to say- I was the dude at 5:50 in the middle of no-where in an EF top cheering him on! I find this the most inspirational thing I have ever seen. All legends in my eyes !
I know this was a year ago but I am seriously jealous. There is nothing like this happening where I live and I would love to be able to see someone I admire riding through my town in the middle of something this inspiring.
It was a privilege to be part of this race on my Smokestone fatbike. Was incredible to meet Lachlan and ride with him for the first 90 mins or so before he took off up the road never to be seen again!!! Rapha and EF did a great job of capturing just how brutally hard this event truly was. kudos All of the 30 other people who chucked their names in the hat to take part and mission down to lands end for the grand depart are heroes in my eyes, as are all involved from the racing collective in creating something so special. The bit the film didn't capture is Lachlan after he'd finished, he was dot watching away and personally messaging words of encouragement, a proper legend!!
Awesome seeing you on the route man. Such a mega ride and a great guy. Also stellar job on the film, probs to Rapha and EF for putting resources being this stuff. Proper bike riding!
I've watched probably 1000 cycling videos on youtube over the years and this one, this whole series of the alternate calendar, is among the most inspiring and the production value is incredible. Thank you to all who took part in putting stuff like this into the world. glorious epic of a ride for lachy. chapeau!
EF the pro team of pro teams. Seriously epic and great to see the respect you give to all aspects of riding. Great to see you are not just about the pro peloton because bikes riding is more than just that.
You don't need to win a Grand Tour to write the Legend of modern Cycling. Amazing performance, awesome individual, Lachlan Morton belongs to a league of its own. Thank you EF / Rapha for your top-quality and cinematic posts.
Met you guys 2016 i guess and i allways will remember this moment. I worked for a pro team that time and every team was kinda grumpy because everybody worked hard over the last days and then there were you guys standing there in the worst weather ever and and the whole team smiled like the world could not get better. You guys make memorys which stay and motivate normal people for while riding their bikes. We need more of this. I mean pro is pro but dont take it to serious...
It seems that it must have been as much work doing the cinematography as it was for the bike riders. Bravo well done this was a remarkable journey to follow. I appreciate how much work went into putting just film together
I've done an Ultraman, 100 mile trail runs, 12 self-supported Ironmans, and all that crap, and I've watched tons of videos trying to capture the spirit of this stuff... This film is AMAZING. One of the best ever. And to see somebody as cool as L.M. (spitting image of Chris Cornell, btw) handling it with grace is the best part. A must-watch for anybody wanting to do more than the status quo.
thank you Rapha & Lachlan. This meant more to me than you can know. Never ever quit. You will have to live with that feeling the rest of your life. Thank you Lach...
Not a cyclist, I'm an ultrarunner, but that was freaking awesome. Loved that. Lachlan's passion for what he does is infectious. Keep up the good work y'all!
Gotta luv Lachy! 7:32 Lachy doesn't get tired. He just gets more LACHY! :D When you put Rapha, poc, EF1, C'Dale and Lachy together, you just get cycling. REDEFINED. Amazing production. Keep it safe, and keep it pink... Cheers
Echoing what lots are saying on here. The alternative race calendar series is some of the best bicycle content on RUclips right now. Awesome production crews, content quality and honest characters (I mean you're just being normal people).
🎉👌 This video perfectly captures the joy of cycling! We're so excited to add it to our collection and share the inspiration. Keep rolling out the great content! 🚴♂
Beautiful sport. Rapha has come full circle, again, and only better further higher, and more to come. "That's an amazing Why to have..." Simon Mottram, "The sport is amazing. Incredible aesthetic amazing stories. A huge well-spring of ideas... Create something to reflect really how amazing this sport is, and bring that to people.""It's an experience, a transformational experience that makes people's lives better when they really get into cycling." Thanks for keeping at it and keeping us at it.
This might be the most inspirational cycling video I have ever seen. There's something about super endurance races that make me want to ride my bike a little further and a little harder. Thank you for the videos!
Everyone forgets how much experience he has with rides like this. Watch all the rapha videos of him and his brother riding reeeeeeaaaaallly fast through the middle of nowhere over sand and rocks and you'll understand why he's the best human on a bike. He doesn't win tours but he rides further and faster than anyone alive. Lachlan is an absolute legend and there is no equal.
Good Hollywood movie story line stuff. Sure, it's a pro that smashes non-pros in an endurance event, but obviously much more. Our hero accepts a challenge and has difficulties a long the way. He's uplifted by the beauty of the outdoors and the people he meets on his journey. He completes his mission while learning something greater about himself and the accomplishment.
I enjoyed dot watching, I have really looked forward to this edit. Props to Lach and all the riders who completed. I might add I have a small man crush on lach after this and dirty Kanza, there are elements in this video where we can all relate as to why and how we started riding and continue to do so. Thank you.
I’ve watched this 3 times now, I can already feel this being my motivation vid for the winter. Oh plus, brother neckin my favourite brew @ 7:30 like a champ
Lachlan, you are my new hero and favorite pro tour rider now! You even rode through my village near Bristol, but i live in Poland, so i wouldnt have seen you anyway! Great job man, you're a massive inspiration to cyclist and dreamers everywhere!!
Never thought I’d be cheering at the screen as a dot watcher! Huge respect to Lachlan and the other riders, thanks to EF and Rapha for sharing this with us 👏🏻
Just WOW! I have been impressed by the EF team on the World Tour but this (and Dirty Kanza plus Leadville) puts you in a whole new perspective. Very inspiring sharing of this experience of Lachlan - what a man!
Some pro road teams have money and win races. EF might win fewer races, but they have something extra - passion - the rare kind of passion that inspires everyday cyclists across all disciplines and can't be bought. As someone who pledged funding for the EF crowdfunding appeal way back when, I'm overjoyed to see EF trailblazing in every sense. I enjoy my cycling more as a result of watching these films, they're very special.
What an amazing production. Lachlan, you made me cry three times while watching this. You are a champion of cycling and of humans in general. You have my utmost respect.
Coolest video thus far from these Rapha's films featuring EF riding alternative races. Hats off to Lachlan. True love for cycling in its purest essence!
After persevering through massive suffering he says, “I finally get it... I’m right where I need to be... there is right now,” and encapsulates the journey of the hero in one bike ride. This video is 32:07 of pure magic.
Love this, Lachlan did amazingly well. I totally related to his emotions, you wonder why you are riding in the middle of nowhere, cold and wet and then someone pops up and cheers you on and it really lifts your spirits. Chapeau.
Flippin heck that was a great film. Well done Rapha for telling such an exceptional story. Lachlan is legend and does it all with a smile on his face, brilliant stuff!
What a top bloke Lachie is.... I had the pleasure of riding with him several times when he was a young fella back in Australia (and his dad and his brother). So nice to see he has turned out to be such a champion.
One of the best videos on all of RUclips for me, right now, can’t even send the link to my friends quick enough. Amazing job team. And THEN, Lachlan! Man ohhhh man. No words. Beast. Beyond beast!!! So, so epic.
Lach just keeps pulling off these incredible stunts! What a legend ♥ Love this team and this brand and what they stand for so much, you guys keep reminding me why I fell in love with the sport in the first place
Inspirational stuff & loved every minute of it! (Even if Lachlan didn’t!) Congratulations on your Achievement and keep doing the wide spread of events - you are leading the way and helping shape the future of cycling. 👍
Rapha, EF Ed & Lachlan: You really have something special here..
This is true!
Rich Burgess they really really do.
Just awesome. Pleased to say- I was the dude at 5:50 in the middle of no-where in an EF top cheering him on! I find this the most inspirational thing I have ever seen. All legends in my eyes !

These films are some of the best cycling documentaries I've seen. Love them!
Respect for ending with a tribute to the other riders. Superb

Andy Deacon congrats
Andy Deacon thank you for mentioning this, that REALLY shows his true colors man. Wow. Thank you
Humble heroes are the best. Lachlan's dot-watching and messaging encouragement makes him even more special in my eyes.
"The dark moments fade but if you give into them they last forever" ❤️
Awesome seeing you on the route man. Such a mega ride and a great guy. Also stellar job on the film, probs to Rapha and EF for putting resources being this stuff. Proper bike riding!

"How do my legs feel so great?" knocks back a can of Irn Bru. That's why! 😂
Sushi in a Bivvy Bag, that's f**king priceless.
Gary Fryett YES!!!!! hahahaha
I've watched probably 1000 cycling videos on youtube over the years and this one, this whole series of the alternate calendar, is among the most inspiring and the production value is incredible. Thank you to all who took part in putting stuff like this into the world. glorious epic of a ride for lachy. chapeau!
Awesome movie. That attemented pinch zoom at 18:54 really captured his state well after the first two days. 🤣🤣🤣
Massive respect to lachy for doing this. The man has that adventure spirit in his soul.
When the dot watchers started coming out to see and ride with Lachie, thats when this became truly epic. Amazing stuff.
Rapha, it was a classy move showing the other finishers.
EF the pro team of pro teams. Seriously epic and great to see the respect you give to all aspects of riding. Great to see you are not just about the pro peloton because bikes riding is more than just that.
This is cycling. What a hero

Tears in my eyes. "I am right where I need to be... this is better than finishing, right now!" You are a legend. Thanks for the inspiration.
One of the best rapha films yet. A wonderful take on the purity of cycling and the extremes of self discipline.
I've done an Ultraman, 100 mile trail runs, 12 self-supported Ironmans, and all that crap, and I've watched tons of videos trying to capture the spirit of this stuff... This film is AMAZING. That was one of the best things I've ever seen on RUclips. Also, now a total Lachlan Morton fan
Dude, you summed it up in two sentences. I felt exactly the same.
Lachlan is breaking the mold. It doesn't matter what type of bike you ride, what gear you wear or where you go. Just go ride and have fun! Love this.
Please don't ever stop making this mini docs. What a breath of fresh air this is bringing into the world of cycling.
No pain, no gain...well I think Lachlan just gained himself the hearts of all who watched his epic journey.
Lachlan Morton, gotta love the man...
Ok Rapha, you win. Your films are so good I have to buy something with your logo on it.
This is one of the most powerful cycling videos out there
I´m starting to like pink. Don´t know why though ..
The more I see of Lachlan the more I think he's a quality guy, pure class.
Echoing what lots are saying on here. The alternative race calendar series is some of the best bicycle content on RUclips right now. Awesome production crews, content quality and honest characters (I mean you're just being normal people).

Such an epic film and a great doco for Lach to have. I’ll be watching this more than once.
This is why EF is my favourite team. I hope they keep doing this every year from now on. Maybe give Lachlan a year off the GB Duro though.
