Unbelievable. I'm so glad Uli decided to revisit the 70's Scorpions music. It's too good to just be ignored. I love the Scorpions and support everything they do, but 74 to 79 was magical !!!

One of the best Live versions of WBTS...and I'm a fan. Great singer this guy is and Uli's playing, very tight plus the extras in all the right places. Emotional, melodic, powerful. Very moving. Uli pulls out what I refer to as the "whale tones" around 15:30 of In Trance....great performances. Magnifique'.
With Nathan James on vocals too. He's come a long way since his auditions for Jesus Christ Superstar and the Voice UK.
Saw him a few years ago, one of the best concerts I’ve been to - approx 200+ concerts!
Uli plays beautifully and with so much heart and passion!
This is one of the best versions of this songs I have heard ever and it comes from a die hard scorpions fã ... sun of a gun this guy ULI is pure magic ... it’s impossible to be indifferent to this composition for me WBTS is a masterpiece a intemporal opus

What a breath-taking performance
Uli has a uniqueness to his ‘vibrato’ that still makes him easy to identify by ear to this day. It’s ULI’s springy, eerily fluttering nervousness at the top end that is so fluid..and intentionally Controlled. Ghostly by design. .

he s doing better than Klaus Meine today, unfortunately age is starting to lower his vocals a lot even on easier songs
@@lobba123 Not at all, he still has it. He's not able to sing absurdly high songs anymore true, but if anything its just his accent. Although his voice does seem to get tired faster throughout the show, as he seems very tired by the time they get to the recognized songs, yethe still pushes to give it his all.

Wow. This performance really highlights how awesome Klaus Meine's vocals are. Klaus is in my top 3 best rock vocals ever. His voice is so suited to rock, especially when Uli would match his notes on the guitar like in their performance of Seas of Charon on RUclips. That's the number 1 Scorpions song ever, I can listen to Seas of Charon ten times in a row and still want more.

That Uli abandoned playing Stratocasters, is one of the great mysteries of rock. He had the best tone this side of David Gilmour. That Sky guitar will never sound good to me.
He wanted many more notes, but the mighty wing pickups are odd sounding. I suspect the high frequencies are going away for Uli after many years of playing.

For all the nitpicking. This performance is stellar by anyone else's high quality expectations. These greats aren't going to be around forever. Don't treat them like they somehow don't matter. If you stopped listening somewhere in their career. Doesn't mean they still don't have a beautiful career. I'm sure Uli Jon Roth is having a great time.

I'm not a fan of his sound on that "sky" guitar. Also, his vibrato sounds too wide and nervous. Very over-exaggerated. I wasn't able to believe in this performance. I couldn't get immersed.

You know for someone who has so many frets and then for those frets to be scalloped he sure has a piss poor vibrato. I mean this is Uli Jon Roth I'm talking about here! He used to make the guitar sing with the Scorpions back in the day when he was playing strats. SMH I don't know what happened. if he just started to believe his own hype and relied on that and stopped practicing or just getting old but his vibrato is out of time and out of tune, its too fast, quick and nervous, sounds immature, underdeveloped. I've never heard a guitarist with a slow wide mature in tune lovely vibrato then one day forget how WTF??? What a shame he was quite a player in the 70's
Merritt Mussorgsky I think it's the sound from his guitar. With a strat, Uli was unstoppable. The Sky Guitar was made for reaching those higher violing tones, but sadly the guitar itself sounds a bit flat and bland.

Ulrich (as he was known in the day) was the first rock guitar virtuoso and still one of the best. Today's rock God's are 3rd generation UJR's. Fly to the Rainbow will make you cry it is so good. This is a great performance of that material and shows that Up I still is all that. Thanks for this. Really enjoyed.

That's IT!!! The GROWL of Uli Roth's guitar! The whole package of this old Scorps the is phenomenal, but the sound of Ulrich's guitar is so pronounced in this video! I love this music!!
noone even comes close to him he can blend into things so well the phrasings the riffs speed -u have to remember this is all in a song or in a song context his technique is unrivaled in rock guitar
