Yep! I saw him do Little Wing and Watchtower in 2004 in his 1st return to America in 19 years. Here he does what I call the "whale sounds" guitar at about the 3:40? mark. Anyway, however he does Hendrix, going back to the Spirit of Hendrix DVD in 91 is great. Jimi would've had his head turned after hearing Earthquake. When he's on he turns from tone to tone, effect to effect in such a magical display of what you can do. Check out his wrists. When I met him, first of all, I am doing it, throw me out if you must, but we talked and his wrists are thick. His hands are not much if any bigger than mine. but I think this allows him to have ease in his playing where Hendrix had huge hands. Uli certainly stuck to his guns, followed his muse and is Uli. The one and only.
I know that he is good. I even know that he is very good. But that???? That is simply brilliant, simply out of this world. It's a virtuosity that is so brilliant and on point. I think everyone knows the original and some covers of little wing. Like quinn sullivans version which is also outstanding. But it doesn't come close to that. And he doesn't just do one-simple cover, no, that would be too easy, he varies it completely without even rudimentarily changing the original to the extreme. You can only bow down in awe and say thank you for these 8 minutes of goosebumps
hello how are you today, I'm watching your mix and it's exactly what I listen to, more or less I love guitarists especially these great ones, well done for your mix. Becka
saw you at the Coach House. i was the one "ich bin von Giessen". not only are you my fav guitar player, but you are a really nice person. i will love you and your music forever
around 91 I was in Berlin, living right behind Potsdamer Plats where Pink Floyd played The Wall. It was an open concert and we enjoyed the music without going, till The Wall started playing and we rushed in to see David Gilmour play the guitar lead. There was no David Gilmour but Uli Jon Roth and it was an impeccable performance. All in the house for Germany, the wall came down and it was a German guitarist that celebrated it.
Uli covering Jimi Hendrix's "Little Wing", this is absolutely Guitar Heaven! Even better, he's backed up by an army of complimentary guitarists fleshing out the experience even more magnificentily!
This is easily the best cover of this tune that I’ve heard and I’ve listened to millions of ‘em. It’s even better than SRV’s, and that’s a very high bar. Long live UJR! Like Michael Schenker the guy’s playing only gets better with age
GREAT , ULI J. ROTH MAYBE THE BEST GUITARIST ON LIFE (7-10-2021) , WONDERFUL COVER OF THIS JIMI HENTRIX MASTERPIECE , I KNOW THAT IT IS BLASPHEMY WHAT I WRITE NOW BUT I THINK THAT THIS VERSION IS BETTER FROM THE ORIGINAL !
Juriy.
Wow to see Ule Ritgen with Uli again. It would be great if he toured with Uli and play maybe 5 Electric Sun songs. Or 10 cause they're really good and I prefer it to Scorpions which has had its fair share in recent years.
The fact Jimi didn’t like his voice is crazy. This is good but not James Marshall Hendrix because there is only one but The guitar playing is beyond superb
There are a lot of guitarists who cover Hendrix, and rightly so, but none I’d rather hear than Uli.

By Far, The best version I've ever Heard. Even Hendrix could say this is a masterpiece.
Agreed! But what the holy fuck is with the drums??? Who's playin' A I?
Uli's playing is just like a fresh Breeze. Effortless, a breath of fresh air and powerful

The master what more can you say. UJR by far the greatest guitarist of all time
*He is definitely close!!*
He’s up there with the best, but there are too many good guitarists to say that he is the greatest of all times…what about SRV just to name one?
saw Uli in 1985 at the country club in Reseda.......Electric Sun tour.........first time he played in the US
The legend. The master. The god. What more can you say? That was sweet to the point of being Japanese. P-E-R-F-E-C-T-I-O-N.
There's a soul living in that solo..
UJR amazing!!!
saw you at the Coach House. i was the one "ich bin von Giessen". not only are you my fav guitar player, but you are a really nice person. i will love you and your music forever

Love the guitar tone.
That sky guitar sounds incredible, just like a perfect mix of strat and lespaul

Uli 😍🤗
The God of the Guitar
And his sweet voice 😇😇
I think Jimi would have approved of this. You can see the respect UJR has for Hendrix.
6 string guitars not enough for the master, he designs and makes his own 7&8 string guitars!
He is just perfection..Uli Jon Roth..😊❤🎉
He played koto !!! 😮💨 huuffttt...the great Jon Roth...❤🙏
The opening solo is as good as the original without being exactly the same, mind blowing.
I would love to see David Gilmore's reactions while watching this, I feel he could appreciate this with more depth than most others.
Out there ❤
Uli Jon Roth❤

I still miss him on a fender Stratocaster
WOW
Maravilha
"Catch the Rainbow" melody Is basically the same song but Raibow didn't give a credit to Jimi Hendrix!?
5:19, 5.25 That's something!

Uli’s better at Jimi than Randy Hansen
A guitar with 30 frets!!
The fact Jimi didn’t like his voice is crazy. This is good but not James Marshall Hendrix because there is only one but The guitar playing is beyond superb
Too fast, bro
SRVs version destroys this
Gandalf the White … if he played guitar ❤
