He sits down on a rig that has nothing to do with his and from the first note he plays you can recognise him effortlessly because he has so much sound on his own hands before any equipment kicks in. We can't thank you enough Uli for your masterpieces and your adorable personality.
Uli is still searching for different sounds and is able to apply his style in any of them. This is so rare for an old timer, shows a continuous will for development and exploration and that's one of the things that made him a legend.
Les Wadley thanks so much man! It was just luck he stopped by and we were loaded and ready to record even with the GoPro. Sadly the battery on the GoPro died while he was playing but we got some good stuff.
I love that the first thing he wants is a super heavy pick, and how his playing reacts to each and every twist of a dial. And also... how Uli's love of (and inspiration by) Hendrix's playing is so evident here.
Cause he left scorps just before they were big in America , and he's more known between musicians he influenced when he was in the band and early era scorps fans..@@sillennium
Look at all those people walking by behind Uli and not even slowing down to look and listen to this legend play guitar. They have no idea who he is. So sad.
@@Rockstar-lx2li So every time you heard someone playing great at namm you'd run over immediately.Because I'm sure there were a lot of great players there. To be quite honest his playing is nothing Spectacular here sounds like any good player. And yes I am a Uli fan.
Could you see Clapton or Page walking to a random table at a guitar convention and start jamming to no audience? That’s what I love about Uli, he never let fame go to his head.
absolutely! when he was in Moscow last time my friend from the middle of Russia was running late to meet him before departure, and everyone was trying to hurry him up, but he just waited when that guy arrived, signed CD, took a photo, hugged us and only after sat in a van! absolutely easy going legend!
This video is from very long ago but, It came up in my feed again. So I’ll comment again. I wrote this in another comment here. Uli came to my home town (El Paso, Texas). Sadly this town is a little ignorant. He came to a bar, I think it’s closed now, but in Mesa street. Only About 30 to 40 people showed up. I was a little sad to see him play in such a small venue but… After the concert, he and the band came out of the bus and signed autographs and took pictures. Uli is so gentle, a very nice and down to earth man.
Uli always has a booth at NAMM for his sky academy seminars. He is a regular at NAMM. This is cool, but it is just another day at NAMM. I luv Uli. Always down to earth, humble but very approachable. He never let his ego get in the way like yngwie. That guy I can't stand at all.
I saw Jon Uli Roth in Montreal in 2016. Andy Timmons opened the show, Jennifer Batten followed and Jon uli Roth with 2 other guitar players! I did hear 2 000 000 notes that night!
I shared the video with a couple of my guitarist friends. I also went and purchased Uli's albums on Google Play. I have loved his work before I even knew who he was. I have all the Scorpions albums, and it is their early albums that really shine, thanks to Uli.
Ah, he is so unique and special. I like the way he has not changed since 1970s - his looks and passion for music. I wonder if he has ever collaborated with the late Ronnie James Dio the great (RIP). It would have been awesome. I have been a big fan of Allan Holdsworth. The end was so sudden... I wish the great musicians like Uli long life!
Met Uli a few times, what a great man. Actually looks you in the eye when talking and listens to you ! Class act all the way. And yes a Wizard of another Universe !
So relaxed and such great groove. I am embarassed to say I discovered him much later and can hear where all these guys like Malmsteen and Schenker found their inspiration from. It's so obvious even if they then went and put their own spin on things.
Uli Jon ROTH is a master guitarist and excellent songwriter. ULI's personality is so ZEN. ULI is humble and positive. Uli Jon ROTH is a brilliant musician. A true INNOVATOR!
Uli J Roth is the most original guitarist ever.
+David Allen He is great that is for sure!
I like how he has no ego here. walks up, picks us the random guitar, plays unknown gear and is having fun. classy
+T Crane he was a nice guy, great player.
he's wonderful
How many of the people walking around there know they're in the presence of a legend?
sadly not a lot

I WHOLE HEARTEDLY FULLY AND COMPLETELY AGREE...
ABSOLUTELY...
One of the greatest guitarists to ever pick one up and the most humble and friendly man too
Heck yeah
Being the best guitarplayer on the planet and visit NAMM. Forgot to bring a pocket full of picks. Priceless.
Who needs picks when you at the Dunlop booth
The real legends are humble and relaxed!
True
So true. Masters don't have superiority complexes like many guitarists who couldn't hold a candle next to a true MASTER like Uli Jon ROTH.
Uli is still searching for different sounds and is able to apply his style in any of them. This is so rare for an old timer, shows a continuous will for development and exploration and that's one of the things that made him a legend.

They have nothing really to shred about, just a simple common pentatonic solo...

He married the last person to see Jimi alive. She actually wrote a song for the Scorpions...Monika Dannemann
@@MickLoud999 correct! The lyrics to "We'll burn the sky" are about Jimi.

Golden rose song sounds (Jimi)
Uli is the oldest guy you will ever see shred like that because he invented it
Nice
Maybe Ritchie Blackmore is the oldest because Uli began very young, 9 years younger than Blackmore. But Uli is indeed the pioneer of shred
What about Al diMeola ?
