    Idk what it is, I’ve watched hundreds of videos about music theory, and how everything works together in music theory, but your content is finally what’s always made these theories in my head click. Thank you

    I’ve been very casually playing guitar over the last ten years. Life has been awesomely busy as I have two young kids and a pretty demanding full time job so I pick the guitar up when I can. I’ve been able to play along to some easier songs throughout the years but just stumbled across your older videos on theory and scales a few weeks back. Man, you’ve honestly unlocked so much for me, thank you! The way you lay everything out and speak on it is very easy to absorb. This thing is so much more fun now!

    Scott is a genius teacher. No one touches his methods, and especially his visuals are by FAR the best. I don't get every thing right away, I'm a disastrous combination of dumb and lazy, but he's such a great teacher that I'm over coming that, little by little.

    This is a really nice pleasant production in itself, and i'm learning so much. It also kinda makes me feel smart and remember that I'm growing, because I'll see you do things like loop in the DAW, tune bass to where you're playing, invert chords and stuff like that and I'll say, "I know that part"! Since your presentation of songwriting is so comprehensive, it almost serves as a curriculum!

      Try thinking of your vocal melody as a physical line on paper , like a heart chart or seismic graph. It can modulate up and down, flatten out, spike or drop. Once you figure out how much movement you want you can start picking your notes and deciding things like what is staccato or legato , etc. I also try to always have a recording device near me the first time I hear a piece of music and I record the first melody idea that pops in my head as it plays in real time .

    Try LED-light if it gets too hot. LED-light does not transmit as much heat as halogen lights… because LED only transmit humanly-visible-light and not also the infrared light that halogen (regular bulps) emit.
    Infrared light is very warm (carries much heat) LED doesn”t.

    If you could explain how you get bass ideas down … you mentioned root then 5th and someone suggested walking up on 3rd.
    I play guitar and have got a bass but find myself playing bass sounds like lead tuned down rather than bass parts.
    Is it ok to just repeat root hit fifth then onto next chord??

    Hi. From where gomes F# and G# notes?
    The aren't from C/Am key.

    • @StratsRUs
      @StratsRUs 10 месяцев назад

      The Am key doesn't have to be pure minor chords for its 4 and 5. The 5 chord can change to E major so a G# note is accessed. This ensures a leading note is created.To lead back to the root of A minor.
      That is usually reasoned from the A Harmonic Minor which has the G#.That's the quick E major chord part at the end.
      The earlier D major chord has the F# note.This can be seen as a key change to G.The D chord is the 5 chord. This means you can just play the G major key around there.G, A, B, C, D,E,F#.
      Knowing the Circle of 5ths helps you recognise these changes too.

      My guess is that he uses melodic minor, as opposed to natural minor, which raises the sixth and seventh note in the scale.
