Wow this looks phenomenal, it maintains the colour palette and theme of the game so well, I can't wait to start my playthrough with this now that multiplayer is back online!
Absolutely beautiful! I always thought DS3 had the potential to look so much more beautiful but ended up just looking dull and grey. I get they were trying a _dead and dying world_ kinda esthetic but the execution made them game look dull and boring. This lighting mod really shows the true potential DS3 has. And keeps the same theme and colour pallet too!
@@goenyamin8468 looking good doesn't necessarily mean needing more processing power. DS2 looks amazing and yet runs on the Xbox 360 and PS3 with little issue. Also, I don't think DS3 was on PS3, it came out in 2016 it was made for PS4, Xbox One, and windows.
I've been hesitant on installing reshade for a while because I could never find a solid answer on whether or not it would trigger a ban if I tried to play online with it. This preset is making me really consider taking the risk.
@@MrKitty707 but with a new acc. I‘ve once tried a „hack“ to just be able to spawn items (swords, armors etc.) and I got soft banned for that for about a week, after that week I was again able to play online
I apologise for the 1080p quality, youtube takes forever to process 1440p so that should be available by tomorrow. The mod will be available for download as soon as Nexus Mods is back online.
@@graham4385 Not really. DS1 had terrible keyboard and mouse support but that's not true for the other games. Using a KB+mouse in DS3 pvp comes with the advantage of being able to hard swap in the middle of a fight more easily and playing withou lock-on is also easier.
It looked different for me. Did you have in game brightness all the way up? I could barely see anything and it didn't look as good. Maybe I did something wrong or it doesn't work too well with the current reshade update.
If you mean the dark areas, that's completely intentional. Areas massive areas lit by 5 candles are supposed to be dark. I also wanted to make the torch useful as a source of light in the indoor areas with little to no light sources. You are not supposed to be able to see shit when you are indoors with no or very small and few light sources.
the tonemap is not very good imo, that sort of messes up all the rest of the mod, its too high contrast, its like when amateurs work on hdr3 footage and just crush the shit out of it
That's in the editing software. Record footage with reshade off, then with reshade on, and finally just make it transition between them with the slide transition. This is not something you can do in reshade itself.
@@nicolasapocryphos6696 There is enough contrast. What you're calling "contrast" is just the black and white levels. I wanted areas which are not lit directly by a light source to actually be dark because it makes 0 sense for huge areas lit only by a couple of candles to have so much light in them. This basically makes the torch useful as a source of light in some areas.
@@doompenguin7453 This effect is made for practicality as a hub shouldn't require a torch to find npcs, besides, it's made with actual lighting. Now, you've made areas lit by sunlight have very hard shadows everywhere, shadows that should otherwise be in indirect sunlight and subtle, on top of that colors are overly saturated, which does not help
@@nicolasapocryphos6696 Are you sure you installed the preset correctly? I don't see any "harsh shadows" or a lot of saturation anywhere. The difference in saturation between vanilla and my preset is minimal. I have been told that this preset doesn't really work well with the latest ReShade, so try running it with ReShade 4.9.1, which is the version I used to make it. You also don't need a torch to find NPCs in the hub area. It's darker than the vanilla game, but everything is still clearly visible.

@@doompenguin7453 yes, it was, just as instructed, both HDR On/Off the problem precist, worst with hdr on as everything gets glared. 1. There is no vignette effect in this preset and I only use black and white levels so that areas where there are no light sources are actually dark and not lit by some mysterious invisible light sources. 2.
