    Official foredom flex shafts do in fact come with plastic pedals. They're okay. But the cast pedals are huge upgrade by MILES. Worth every penny.

    There are also quality aftermarket pedals, made by Lucas and Pepetools.
    If you have a 'real' Foredom Plastic foot controller, it helps to mount it to a thin piece of plywood to add some weight to it and put something between the plywood and the floor to add friction. While you can do this with the Chinese copy it won't make it a better tool.

    I work for an authorized Foredom vendor and could not resist taking advantage of my employee discount to purchase my domestic (blue label) SR set, which I am 100% certain is genuine.
    Your pedal is authentic- in my experience, genuine Foredom products are packaged like that- no Styrofoam or other type of protective insert. That surprised me too, but maybe it isn't needed - authentic Foredom products are so expensive because they are extremely well made and durable.
    In my opinion, it's worth spending the extra money (if you have it) on the authentic product for things like this.

    I don't know why you didn't show it run. Your video could have saved a lot of time by stating you originally bought a fake pedal that had no control and then bought a factory pedal that solved the problem.

    When you pulled the fake pedal out it looked just like mine. That was concerning. I immediately checked the label on mine and everything is correct. I got my Foredom SR as part of the Jump Ring Maker 2 package. Even though the pedal is plastic and visually looks like the fake one you have, it works flawlessly - configured as the jump ring maker or as a rotary tool. As a side note, Skyler Jenkins (Change You Can Wear) did a video on using economy-priced tools for coin ring making and one item was a CHICAGO ELECTRIC Flexible Shaft Grinder/Carver Rotary Tool from Harbor Freight $44.99 (you can get an additional 20% off that with a coupon). While it's miles apart from a Foredom brand (see the video for the difference) he successfully completed the project with that tool. This is not an endorsement of the HF tool, just a point that you need to know what you're getting when you make a purchase - which you illustrate beautifully with your testimony. Sorry you got burned and hope others head your voice. Keep up the good work.

      FWIW, I have the HFT flexshaft connected to a Foredom pedal, along with Foredom SR and TX, the counterfeit SR in the video, plus an older Foredom. The HFT flexshaft is an excellent value when coupled to a better pedal. Haven't burned one out yet. Can't say the same for my first SR.

    Dork! JK I've bought my fair share of fake tools. Sometime due to bogus sellers on Amazon and sometimes because someone buys a real one from amazon, claims its bad and returns a fake that Amazon then sells without checking. Great caution tale, keep up the great work.

      Hey, in the end, it works really well now that I have a decent pedal!

    Simple…do your research first…Foredom do a plastic and metal foot pedal.
    Beware there’s loads of fakes out there
    That fake handpiece is a copy of the H30, but has a larger end to accommodate the 1/4” chuck, which Foredom do not supply. The Genuine Foredom H30 only takes up to 3.9mm

    • @whitelfner4582
      @whitelfner4582 11 месяцев назад

      Caution to people reading this, the 'fakes' come in 6mm and 6.5mm in the same yellow metal, slightly wider at the end handpieces. The 6mm WILL NOT fit a 1/4"!!!
      I have a couple with the 6.5mm Jacobs chuck but had read this info from someone else, wanted to pass it along.

      The H30, maybe no but Foredom does have handpieces that do accommodate 1/4". Just throwing it out there.
