New passthrough is great! Until it's not. Here's how you can see very strange warping on Quest 3 v67

  • Did you noticed it before watching this video? Do you think they still have to upgrade it or is it good enough? In my opinion new passthrough is a huge improvement. However in terms of warping, it isn't perfect as many people suggest. In my video, you can see both situations - when it's amazing and when it's extremely warped. However in normal usage, it works well so I don't really need any more improvements from Meta - in image quality yes, but warping is okay.

True. I am on V67 and still have slight warping which I didn't notice in V66 !

So I've been on v66 for about a month now and I have yet to see any difference in warping. What do we have to do to get this magical update if we are "current" on updates?

Current version is v67 not v66 😅. There are many ways to get it - you can use Metas new web tool to update, but it needs computer: www.meta.com/help/quest/software_update/. You can also join beta channel or update system in the old way, with terminal (no need to do it anymore). And at the end, it is possible that you still don't get some new features 😂.

@@Thomas_Voland Weird as there was another video when v66 came out that was all about the warping being fixed....I guess I'll wait again for v67 to show on my Q3.

@@DecepticonFITES updating OS doesn’t mean getting new features. This is how it works on Quest since forever. I have even video on this channel where I am showing this: ruclips.net/video/OSPU_mirJkw/видео.html

Is it able to let you see the letters on the keyboard now? been wanting to get one for work but I was told that pass-through apparently sucked especially if you wanna see your keyboard in mixed reality mode sadly I never learned how to type on the keyboard without looking and I am now too old to actually learn how.

@@fredsorre6605 why do you think that this skill requires young age? I have learned it being over 30yo. You can see 3D keyboard model of some keyboards or use mixed reality. Keys are much more visible with backlight.

@@Thomas_Voland I am already over 50 dude I had typing classes in High School and through Out College I never learned it then I will never learn it now especially with my sort term memory not being too great.

@@fredsorre6605 Typing is fairly simple and anyone of any age can learn it with a bit of effort. The only rule I imposed on myself was "don't look at the keyboard" and now i can type incredibly quickly and accurately (although i did train my speed afterwards). So if you want to give another shot, that's my advice. Just absolutely DO NOT look at the keyboard.

@@fredsorre6605 Ah my mum has ADHD too and trying to teach her to type didn't exactly go to plan for the same reason lol. Don't worry too much about trying to learn, it might be more struggle than it's worth :)
