Next they just need to recover a new engine in a ravine that has WD-40 and fresh leaves and saw dust thrown on the camera side so we dumbass viewers don't know better. They are 'M-O-O-N',..that spells SMART!🤤
For those questioning many things, as you see while watching the video the M715 was first talked about and rescued in episode 98. He talked about the M715 a little bit on how he found it and where it came from. As far as content being cutout that is because these are not the full episodes. All content and full episodes are found on Motortrend on demand. These are just sweet snippets that are dropped on RUclips in hopes to buy the Motortrend on Demand membership to watch the full content. Thanks for your time on reading this. Also loving the truck.
That thing is so sweet. Love the paintjob, love the new axles and wheels, love that tarp canopy y'all put on it. Plus, it has a great origin story! Fished up from off a cliff in a beautiful forest, and towed home with a custom Jeep Gladiator tow truck. Really gives off "military truck turned civilian" vibes. Not many vehicles that look quite like it.
The cab is from the wagoneer and gladiator. The horn button has a cover to hide the civilian factory badge. The civilian curved windshield was dropped and a "plug" was put in curved area. The front end has all the mount points for the original grill. Would be cool to make a milspec wagoneer out of one.
By the way, Kia builds this Jeep as the KM450 for military use under licence. It is in use in the militaries of several countries like South Korea and the Philippines.
Well about time someone had some gray matter upstairs and left the reliable inline 6 Most idiots have to change engines inline 6 is perfect for trails .. just warm it up a Iittle keep the 6 great video
It looks like it had a rockwell pattern and there are so many different wheel options for that pattern there's a place where I'm from that will take whatever size tractor wheel you want and make centers with your bolt pattern so you could have steel 30 inch wheels on your truck if you wanted to and I've seen the dude cut some pretty cool patterns with a cnc machine and he welds the centers in there not bolt ins
I believe jeep making the new Gladiators is the greatest travesty to mankind and you can't change my mind. The concept designs/trucks were way better than the mess they gave us. This is worse than the destruction of the Library of Alexandria.
Enjoyed the video. Wish it had more details. What are the axles? What ratio? All that kind of stuff. I'm working on m715 right now myself. I put Chevy one ton axles under it. I had a 292 Chevy six in it. Putting in a 454 right now with 4 speed. And a divorced Dodge 205 transfer case. Still trying to figure out a good steering box etc
C'mon guys. We know you're big time entertainers now. But the intro was enough to make me look for another video. I didn't but wanted to.. Keep with your roots. You are getting to fancy for 80% of your fan base. Cool jeep tho. And i don't say that often... Clampy better not be neglected!
M715? How to you explain the blue & white cab paint? But the military bed? And the M715 dash? I tend to think what you have is a parts mule. Lets try a little of this. Lets try a little of that. !
When you look at the interior, you clearly see the mil spec equipment; this poor thing just had quickie repaint to the outside. I would like to know the REAL story behind how they found/obtained it. Looks like an old firewood truck that probably busted a knuckle and got left.
You guys need to do some traveling across Nepal or the death road in Columbia so you can tell us if they really are bad or just reported on by city drivers.
Hahaha putting a wrecker winch on a gladiator is a bad idea🤣 remember those old issues where they lifted the truck and had wrong shock length that bent the entire frame when it bottomed out?🤣
I'm building one now, the factory "everything" has to go. The M-715 engine is an OHC I6 and nobody supports it. The T case in a NP200, it gets hot and boils the lube. The front closed knuckle D60 is about as strong as a D44 on the short end. The Rear D70 has no locker options. Military stenciled " MAX SPEED 35MPH " on the dash when soldiers started hurting them. Mine is getting a 07' Super D60 front on a WFO Radius, the rear is going to get a 14 Bolt or Sterling. Engine is a 6.0 Lq4 with a 4L85e run with a FiTech system, the T case is a HD/AMG 242 32 spline from the H1. It's really cool but it was slow in 1968, 2020 it just can't keep up.
The d70 has a limited slip option and mine was stenciled with a 45mph max but yeah. That's why mine has a small block Chevy now and am looking for diffs, trans and transfer.
why do you guys always fail to address the engine? The chevy straight 6 is a great engine if you only use common sense and deal with any issues caused from sitting for years. You do so well with the offroad equipment parts but massively fail at the mechanics of the projects.
When was this Jeep abandoned in the woods? The day before filming?
Couple hours at most.
Brand new fuel filter on it. 🤣
Literally. Not even dirty at all and half the parts look new
Next they just need to recover a new engine in a ravine that has WD-40 and fresh leaves and saw dust thrown on the camera side so we dumbass viewers don't know better.

Yep!

Our family had 2. 1 had the 230 "Tornado" inline 6, the other a small block chevy 350. Fun trucks to drive and good for the family tree business.
These guys need to be doing this show again!
Dude, I started watching this channel when I got my first jeep. Now I have sold that jeep and work on resurrecting a m715.
How awesome!
me and my father refurbished these trucks in the 80s and sold them for feed truckdid around 120 of them still hav=e a wharehouse full oif parts
@@karlhammond6720 you have shop to sell parts?
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! THAT IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE PROJECT VEHICLES!!! SO MUCH FUN!!!! THANKS FOR SHARING!!!
Hope to see more of this old girl!

This episode looks like a version of the movie "Tremors" with Val and earl for some odd reason 😂
Wish you could have completed the Lockwood trail and finished up with the Miller Jeep trail to end up in Hungary Valley SVRA. That's a good day trip.
That tow job was awesome!!😂
By the way, Kia builds this Jeep as the KM450 for military use under licence. It is in use in the militaries of several countries like South Korea and the Philippines.
My dream truck ❤❤
Love it. But it would be cooler painted back green.
Cool truck.

awesome old jeep
Awesome find
Trevor left his truck there
Nice Job !

I got some of those tires! Premium Traction Power King. 9.00x16. Superior mud tires
Excellent
This truck reminds me of Trevor😅
Top truck challenge ready/worthy

Ive got a 67. Awesome trucks. The FSJ Jtruck power steering box should bolt onto the frame.
a power steering setup off a 74 nova can be retrofitted and then you haqve an m715 with poiwer steering
What axle is?
did you lock the front hubs?
What lockers ya'll running?
Yes!!
U guys r awesome love ur videos
You two rock!
Good luck 👍
"Drives down the road terribly." Like every jeep ever made.
Man I would love too find something that cool out in the woods
Have your production team drive it out there a day or two before filming and you too can find one.
C'mon guys. We know you're big time entertainers now. But the intro was enough to make me look for another video. I didn't but wanted to..
Keep with your roots.
You are getting to fancy for 80% of your fan base.
Cool jeep tho. And i don't say that often...
Clampy better not be neglected!
Hmm I always thought that choking something would take the life away not bring it about lol
In the 1980-s these M715 where dirt cheap as Nato surplys... I did not by one, got a M38A1 and a M151A1 instead... regret it now 😁
M715? How to you explain the blue & white cab paint?

BFG AT are great street tires...
It would also be cool to have gladiator tow rig
So cool. I want.
Why would you use seatbelts? No rollbar I don’t wanna get trapped in it
Military axles can be a pain
Hey You guy’s should do a Motorcycle adventure with the Yamaha XT250 that would be more Suited to Fred and more of a dirt bike the those CT125s
Bring back MotorTrend online outside the U.S😔
Some people will claim they overheat at highway speeds.
Will attest to that, couple hours of driving at 45 basically melted my seals.
You guys need to do some traveling across Nepal or the death road in Columbia so you can tell us if they really are bad or just reported on by city drivers.
Hahaha putting a wrecker winch on a gladiator is a bad idea🤣 remember those old issues where they lifted the truck and had wrong shock length that bent the entire frame when it bottomed out?🤣
When you get bored with it send it to me!!!
Of course it cranked, it’s a straight six. They always crank.
The street worthy ratios in those axles killed its off road capabilities. You can compensate with a diesel. A 4bt fits well in these trucks btw.
I watched it twice looking for the pink sasquatch
Isn’t this the truck Trevor drives in gta 5?
Yep, it is😅
Where’d you find a dodge np205 and why a dodge one, don’t they cost way more? must’ve just been what they had lying around
I'm building one now, the factory "everything" has to go.

Dont you need a license and registration to run this on roads?
looks like trever phillips truck but blue
They GTA’D Trevor from GTA 5 and took his ride!
yeah
“Abandoned”. They paid $7-10k for it then parked it out there for the opening scene. All good though, I’m here for the Kaiser.
They're idea of smashed up and mine are pretty different.
I’d put a roll bar at minimum or ejection seats! LoL
I thought the same thing even a headache rack would be better than nothing
hold on a moment. you guys went somewhere prepared with the correct outerwear? I am not sure what I am seeing here!
Like to see more on this project
No way come on really well there goes the show can never have real car shows
An Atlas 4200 swap would be awesome in that!
Be careful! Trevor Philips come back for his car
gta 5
Feels like you guys cut a lot of content out
Dave and his frog toggs.......
Im sure they bought it all trash n stuff and dumped it to rescue to show off the jeep wrecker they built
Or it wasn’t abandoned for very long
GM 4200 Vortec Atlas Engine inline 6 swap !!!
why do you guys always fail to address the engine? The chevy straight 6 is a great engine if you only use common sense and deal with any issues caused from sitting for years. You do so well with the offroad equipment parts but massively fail at the mechanics of the projects.
Probably won't be renewing my membership due to DED being canceled. What happened MotorTrend???
Time to do some graboid hunting
Why not just custom make some wheelspacers and mount new wheels
I revived an abandoned F150 in my garage. C’mon guys. Abandoned? Great show but that’s not like reviving a white Cadillac in a field.
Old gear ratios?
New?
Never enough details.
Another episode of Short Attention Span Theatre..
Trevor
Hey motor trend, it’s like you hate your viewers. Stop cancelling great shows.
Definitely edited for those with short attention spans
I usually skip this part …
Why?
🤡🤡
@@neilvetter662 A trillion and a half bucks you don't know what you are talking about or doing.
@Lt. Rammshteein I make things personal.
why not??
don't use it in the Philippines because you will be ambush bay Rebel he he 😆😆😆 that's is army Issue
Nice staged job
What are you constantly under powering your vehicles. All street vehicle must go @ least 80 mph. Be real.
