  • Tom Lord-Alge is a true legend who's mixed artists like Blink-182, Sum 41, P!nk and Marilyn Manson among many, MANY others - and while every session is unique, his time-tested session setup never changes. Here's a look at exactly how he does it with Pro Tools and his SSL console...
    Get instant access to Angels & Airwaves "The Adventure" multi-tracks and Tom Lord-Alge's full mixing session ► nailthemix.com/ava
    NAIL THE MIX is an online mixing school created by Joey Sturgis, Joel Wanasek and Eyal Levi - the guys who produced bands like TDWP, Chelsea Grin, Blessthefall, Machine Head, Monuments, Miss May I, Of Mice & Men, Reflections, Born Of Osiris, Asking Alexandria and dozens more of this generation's best metal bands.
    Every month, NAIL THE MIX members get exclusive access to the REAL MULTI-TRACK SESSIONS from a REAL ALBUM, and a 6-8 hour live streaming class from the producer who mixed it. These are the actual sessions by bands like Gojira, Meshuggah, Periphery, Papa Roach, Machine Head, Bring Me The Horizon, A Day To Remember and more - and NTM is the only place in the world you'll get access to them!

    When TLA and CLA talk:
    „Okay?“
    „Okay!“
    „Okay?
    „Okay!“
    Mix done. Next Grammy.

    I could listen to TLA talk all day. This is one my favorite nail the mixes. I would love to see him dissect some of the Blink 182 stuff from take off your pants and jacket or enema of the state.

      Computer fan noise, air conditioning etc. If your control room doesn't sound like this then you obviously don't have much gear.

    • @vneckandjorts
      @vneckandjorts 3 года назад

      @@NoQualmsTheArtist Okay yes, but look at that control room. Tom Lord-Alge’s control room no less. U don’t think there was budget to build a machine room to solve this exact problem? Like of all the control rooms to have noise his seems pretty low on the list.

    • @NoQualmsTheArtist
      @NoQualmsTheArtist 3 года назад +5

      @@vneckandjorts live rooms are quiet, a lot of money is spent on making it so. Control rooms are not, analog equipment generates a lot of heat and air conditioning is needed to cool them.

      It’s a control room with a lot of analog gear. You want him to shut it all off so you don’t have to hear it?

    I do the exact thing when mixing. In fact I emulate on the console what goes on on a frequency espectrum. Lows are all the way to the left, Chan 1 , mids in mid section, highs on right section of console.

      Just looked one up and listened to the corresponding song. Not terrible music, but 600+ tracks seems excessive for something that sounds to me like a glass of lukewarm water.

Well I do because that's what the instrument sound like in my head, + I have got it placed in my daw under the instrument group it belongs to
