- Tedeschi Trucks Band perform "Keep On Growing" live at the House of Blues Boston on December 12, 2014. Produced by TourGigs and directed by Danny Clinch and Jojo Pennebaker.
Derek is playing one of Duane Allman's Les Paul guitars through Duane's Marshall amp.
sure warms my heart to see that young man caressing that Les Paul like that
I have seen a lot of bands live over the last 40 years. I've saw them all, in their prime. TTB was my 100th different band to see live. They are one of the tightest bands you will ever see. And Derek Trucks, well, IT'S DEREK TRUCKS!!
Love Gracie Golden too!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓
Duane's rig alert! Derek is playing Duane's cherryburst Les Paul (as heard on At Fillmore East) and seen being played by Duane on the September 1970 Fillmore concert -- borrowed from Duane's daughter. He is also playing through Duane's Marshall (which he owns!). Nice shot of such at 0:25.
+drmwm1 Thanks for pointing this out - I though that guitar looked familiar. Duane and Dickey almost always installed Grover tuners on their Les Pauls, but the Cherryburst is the exception. What's also interesting (to geeks like me) is that the Cherryburst has the pickups that were originally in his previous Les Paul, the famous goldtop.
I noticed that right away. Derek's red SG is MIA here
I knew there was something good about the timbre. Thanks for the info 👏👏👌
sheryl crowe does this Derek and the dominos song also..her band kills it on "boys on the side" soundtrack (1995)
If there's anyone alive qualified to play Duane's Les Paul, it's Derek. They're always phenomenal.
George Wilson
I totally agree.
:)
That's Derek on Duane's Les Paul.
Fantastic... warms my heart to see the offspring of The Allman Bros Band.... Growing! :D
the greatest live blues band in the world today if you havnt seen them yet you havnt lived !!
+Glen Harris I agree with that. Just saw TTB 3 straight nights at Keswick Theater. Going To Atlantic City next month to see another show. They get better every night.
Love it
I was at this show on my birthday with a good friend who passed away on Jan 2. Thanks for coming out Donnie B. We miss you.It was a great show and a great time.
SKYDOG is alive and well!!!
This is just awesome, I was there that night, and the whole show was this good or better! ... BTW that is Duane Allman's Les Paul Derek is playing.
I don't think this was Duane's Les Paul, his was a gold top, This was a starburst. However Derek Has played Duane's Les Paul on several occasion.
I cant imagine they would get that guitar ready for this show. It took a lot to get it ready to play for the ABB finale. It could be one of the Duane Allman reissue/re-make guitars?
Scott Weiser This is a documented fact by the band. Take a look at the description on this video, it confirms that Derek this is Duane's Les Paul and Duane's Marshall Amp as well. Derek used this combo throughout the whole fall tour.
Mike Santopietro Well, I stand corrected. Good, it should be played as often as Duane would have wanted it to be. The road does go on forever.
I stand corrected also.
I’ve been a fan of Susan’s since her “Slow Burn” album about 20 years ago but also of Derek for decades with his relationship with the Allman Brothers and was very fortunate to see TTB at the Savannah Music Festival this past spring. They were amazing, blew everyone away, they were so tight - amazing performance!
First saw Susan in '98 on BB kings blues tour, then in '99 leading in for the allman brothers and Derek had just started.saw them on a rainy ass day in Salem Oregon 05/25/19. It was EPIC!
one of the best tracks on the album, such a classic. great job!
God I hope they put a performance of this song on their next live DVD and simple song/higher
I love this band. See them live if you get the chance. You won't regret it.
On this song he sounds more like Dicky Betts than Duane
dereks god
Is it me or are the guitars a little out of tune? Still a stupendous jam!!!
Double Dee Tee Vee I THOUGHT THE SAME. GREAT JAM THOUGH
Double Dee Tee Vee I don't think so. Listen to the horn break that starts at 2:54; sounds like the trombone's out a hair. Because if you listen to the rest of the song, nothing else sounds "off". But, yeah, aside from that tiny glitch, the band smokes this one.
It's Susan's Fender I believe.
TheAjclements I still maintain that the trombone's slightly out on the horn break, but just gave another listen to the quiet part toward the end. Susan is a little out-of-tune. I stand corrected. Good ears!
+Double Dee Tee Vee i think your all self absorbed nut's there is nothing out of tune.
Cool, That is one of Duane's old Burst's!
Gosh they're AMAZING!!! They are just the best the best *the best*!!
I will never give up on my dream to see them play live one day.
+cammie k. sandi I have the same dream.
cammie k. sandi saw them in DC this year. Best show ever! They freeking rocked!
twice this year great shows just to short 15 songs is not a full load lol
They’ve got a 2024 tour. I just booked my Boston ticket
The Highland Bowl Ampitheatre in Rochester NY. Wow. The sound was amazing and the band was real tight. Great show
Love the way they jam
WOW! really great! love me some Trucks! wish they would come out west.....
BACK TO PARIS PLEASE
Really hoping they release a Live DVD from one of the last runs they've done. You hear that, internet?
They played this as their encore in Pensacola 2/26/15. Glad to see this posted!
Good high tone, Mike!
Great Blues song - great cover. TBB forever.
Sorry TTB not TBB. - Damn keyboard
that gold top is the foundation of the Allman bro
Reminds me of "Marshall Tucker Band"
This is a Derek And The Dominos song
I've not heard anyone do this song since Derek and the Dominos. Great job.
Yer right friend. No one else could do it justice. TTB kills it!
You all are just the best! Love you.
Yeah, Derek's out of tune. Lol. Nice to see Duane's Lester thru his Marshall apparently. Prefer Derek with his regular rig.
YeeHA ~ NATIONAL EVENT SATURDAY JUL 01 7:00 PM Tedeschi Trucks Band
Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion - Gilford, NH
shit. derek's guitar is out of tune, but sounds good anyway
+Владимир Степаничев out of tune or not he and this band are great, my ears are old. you know good music and you have a good ear, live well friend.
I only have 7 tracks in my guitar greats playlist, and the original KOG from Layla is one of them. Great homage to a truly great track.
Love your channel , thank you ......
Idk man, I think I like Derek on the les Paul more than the sg, he definitely has a bit of a different approach with that thing!!
I’m starting to think a big factor here is no reverb through the Marshall
Marauw , meeauw rah. I say the guitar is outta tune. B to the buzz when using a Hammond in the band.If only the damn cat would speak english.
What an awesome performance! One thing though, I would lose the overhead camera. Its just boring seeing the tops of musician's heads and it got especially annoying when they switched from showing Derek playing an awesome solo from the front where we can see little things like his fingers moving across the guitar to a boring overhead shot of his head.
Please Please play this in London on the 7-11-2015 I will be there.
I may be crazy, but I hear Susan playing Jessica riffs in the last jam.
Im enjoying wear these guys are headed. I hope they come to Albany ny so I can see them. Is that guitar out of tune? Something is...I hear it..
I could be wrong but I think why you are hearing that is because it's set to open E tuning for slide purposes...
It's so good, I'm getting the headphones out. Class funk and soul, what a band, !! 💜💯
Why do the other singer in the back? He absolutely makes this song...he deserves to be side by side with Tedeschi.
I hear that Derek has his own burst now. Is this it or is this one of Duane’s? It sounds incredible
Unbelievably good tone.Of course that guitar is one in a million.
The band shrunk! What happen to the other members from the two bands? I love you guys tell us what they are doing now. I miss the Derek Trucks band and wish you would do a small tour! :) Susan you were awesome with the Dead!
Rick Reszler bassist oteil burbridge the younger bro of kofi the keys, organist, and flautist, is playing with dead and company. not sure what happened to the old saxophone player
is his G string out a tad?flat?
Please come to my city Porto Alegre, Brazil.
Sanctification.
They should go onto another branch of that tree and do Delaney and Bonnie covers
Yeah, that's a good idea... I think they did "Comin Home" at one of EC's crossroads concerts.. But not a true D&B song, as it was written by Delaney & Eric, if my poor memory serves me corectly! I'm goona look to see if they've done any other D&B tunes.. Will let you know ;)
Who's playing drums?
Wonderful- thank you
Anybody noticing Derek's guitar slightly out of tune? It's making me sad actually lol
i d love to hear them cover inner city blues by marvin gaye great groove wonderful percussion they could smoke it relevent today as then check it out make it happen
Have tickets April 19th at historic Brady Theater! I've been following Susan since her gigs in Austin! Loooove her! You too Trucks....my husband and I been following you since you were 13 jammin with Allman Bros.
Somebody tune their guitar
Their singing on this duet is excellent

Guitar needs a proper tuning.
Rocks!!!!!!!!!!!
what amp does he uses here?
+Luuk van Nieuwkoop hes using Duanes marshall head
awful snare sound
NO heart , she doesn't get it, Joan Osborne would nail it!!!!
Please correct the date, it was still 2014. And it was an incredible show. Enjoyed every minute.
Maybe it's just me but this sounds a bit anemic compared to the original.
maybe even some isaac hayes superfly yeaaah
