Thank you Kim's Mum. Hello from Perth Western Australia
Great video! I was obsessed with the space shuttle growing up. I actually got to go see the final launch of the shuttle. It is different for me to watch these videos now that I have started multi engine training in a Baron 58.
WOW what a sweet surprise to hear you mention me.. I nearly fell out of my chair. I'm Here and enjoying every moment of your videos...Thank you for the shout out. That was so cool! You both are always a Thumbs Up for me.👍👍👍 Great idea to pass along the Pulse Oximeter tip. Very important indeed. Hope the Audi wasn't pungent and in a Green Fog, when you went back to it.. yikes It was a shame the NASA Approach didn't work out.. That would have been cool. There's always a next time, right?
Hi guys , watching in France , another great film.
Enjoy watching Keep up the good work Watch every time you put up a new video
Great content! Love this channel!
No need for an apology you guys do a great job putting these together. As always thank you for sharing this with us all.
Wow! Thanks for the shout out. Unless you have another LRod in your circle, spelled the same way.
The thing I enjoy about your videos (including the 8008i5 references) is all the Florida locations. I've lived in Florida for 35 years (not all in a row), learned to fly out of OPF, probably landed at least once at every airport down there, and controlled traffic in ZJX when I first started out as a controller('68). I currently live in OMN, just across the river from the airport. So the Florida flying is completely relevant. Even SGJ, where I don't think I ever landed, but I saw Bob Hoover do his Shrike Commander performance at an airshow there once.
Is Kim finally taking lessons? Haven't seen her take controls in awhile or I've been missing them. Kinda hard when I watch every one! You Guys are such an Awesome Flying couple!!! Thank You for taking the time to do these videos for us!!!! Blue Skies!!!!
Hey guys you asked for some comments so here you go. Been watching for the last couple of years but rarely comment always enjoyable to watch so many thanks for all the rides, and truly appreciate all your efforts making these videos they keep me motivated to finish up my years of training for my ppl, yes years!! Happy Holidays!
Hi guys. You always give me my aviation fix, since I had to give up flying PIC (medical). Thanks so much.
Those pfds are neat with the information that they supply
Went from flight simulator tutorials to this within in 2 weeks, learned so much!
Looking good...full winter here in Canada ..at least my part..safe travels.
Beautiful shot of the St. Aug approach. Our house is just a little ways northwest of there, on the river at the northern edge if St. Johns County. Love it there. Miss home alot.
Hi! Thanks for the ride!
Hi folks, In 1992 I could manage to get the clearance for an IFR-flight above the whole Space Center, including a low approach on the Shuttle Runway, that was really amazing! I own the German PPL A+B and the American FAA license. We enjoyed it very much, this runway is a monster... many happy landings, best regards, Wolfgang.
Hi guys, good to see you, hope you had a great Thanksgiving
Nice job on the comms, Kim. Very professional.
Thanks for the mentioning the taxi route feature in ForeFlight! I didn’t know I had it but I do. That’s going to be a big help.
It’s one of my favorite ForeFlight features.
Just adding my thumbs up to these really fun videos. A nice combination of a real Baron Pilot, serious student pilot, and of course, flight sim‘s favorite couple.😎😎
Great flight, stay safe.👍👏👏
I hope you had a good thanksgiving.
Here you go Kris and Kim. I'm watching ALL your videos and having a great time. You guys are great together and I really enjoy you two.
envy your weather! Enjoy the banter
Hi Guys, Once again flew right over my area (KMLB - at around 15:30). Yes the Shuttle landing strip is great to do an approach into. Did it in the Northrop Grumman JSTARS aircraft (B707), not as PIC but sitting behind him. Somewhere I have pictures. Love the safety time and passing on the route info to us simmer's. Thanks for the vid. BTW Mom's are the best ;-)
Good to see you!
Congratulations to Kim !!!! 👍🏻👍🏻
Sounds good with the radio communication!!!!!!
Ok you two….here’s a shout out from your faithful priest fan…..love your videos, keep up the great work. Drop in to SSI GA sometime and I’m buying lunch!
I was a passenger on a KC-135 years ago that actually landed on the shuttle runway. We taxied for what seemed like miles. I had a lot of neat experiences on that trip.
Hi guys! Love the videos!!!
Fly Girl should do a training series on how to use the radios and avionics. She really knows what she’s doing.
Flying into KVQQ awhile back, they cleared me for 36L. I had been considering requesting 36R (12,500') as a "new pilot with landing challenges", but gave up on that joke after JAX ATC kinda lost track of me and didn't hand me over to KVQQ Tower until I was about 1.5nm away from it. Even forgot to put on my Landing and Taxi lights; later, switched over to the wrong freq for Ground...fun day though; had great seafood and a nice visit to the nearby Jax Zoo! 😃
Yes I've been 9 thi'm your scribe andriving leave it a message you've been doing good. I've been watching it every since you started flyand you got a lot of confidence in yourself. You're talking to your buddy. That's the 1st sign you're getting experienced it and you get more relaxed now. You're not so nervous enough tight and afraid to make a mistake. You're entitled to that you're not perfect so you know keep up the good work? I'll be watching yeah. I'm just saying that lol Kim. You're a friend
Thanks for the video of my neck of the woods (KMLB). The big building is called the VAB (the vehicle assembly building.)
You guys look great together you sort of sync and it's always nice to have an extra able crew member on board .One thing forgetting the food in the car.hehehe..The video was great very enjoable
Remember the Seinfeld episode..the food in the car-smell? ..lol🤣
@@francisconti9085 yes! , that's enough to make make do a 180 jejejeje
Hi guys. Love the videos. Keep them coming. I would love to get my ppl someday. Until then I'll stick to my radio control helicopters and planes. Lol. Happy holidays!
I love the videos!
I finally figured out how to thumbs up and comment. Thanks for the new video.
Looks like you need a pre departure checklist for the Audi.
Kim needs an air tag for her food!
The shuttle also landed in New Mexico! On the Northrup Strip. To call it a Strip is a joke. It is in the White Sands Missile range. Not sure of the length but it has to be like twice as long as the runway in Florida! Love the Videos, Thanks Kids!
Nice flight. ... I love this channel. Kris is definitely the Chef John of this format of videos. 😊👍
On that route you flew right over me I’m just west of Ormond Beach airport ❤️
The NASA approach would be interesting to see. That was pretty impressive how large the NASA compound is. Thank you for sharing.
As a kid, I flew with my Dad and family in a J35 Bonanza. My Dad had all the certifications other than turban time. He also flew a Bell 47-G4A for several years. We also owned a 182D before the Bonanza. I have about 6 hours in a 182H. I should have followed thru and got my license. I still have the desire!
I've walked on that runway during a tour. The shuttle was scheduled to land the next day. I don't know how wide it is, but it looks like you could land or take off the width of the runway.
just checked and I did comment on Ryder Cup and Lack of O2 videos but neglected to say Love Moose... ya had me wondering if I did or not but still sweet to know you had me on your radar. Have to check to see if I missed any that you posted I don't like to miss any.... Love Moose!
It was funny, when we actually recorded this flight the next video we posted you had commented! So I was like well by the time this comes out he will
Make a liar out of me😂
Glad to see you’re good!
no worries it was still very cool and a treat to be mentioned in your video. Loved it! ps your pants ain't on fire, so you ain't no liar! 🤣🤣
hi from stormy Scotland
Kim's got the right idea for a custom tail number!!!
Not sure if it’s cool to share a link within these comments but I have a beautiful shot of Tammy (wife) and me flying the Shuttle low approach in our Baron from this last February. It really is something special. Especial given the fact that we fly by the Edwards approach later in that trip out west flying up California👍🏼
I would like to see Baron Pilot flies around the world. I think that would be awesome content.
To bad you didn’t make it this time. We saw the shuttle Atlantis in the huge assembly building after her last flight it was so impressive.
See you on the next on safe travels.
Let’s go for 100k subscribers!
Great flight as usual. Maybe next time you’ll get the NASA approach approve. Thank God for mom! See you next time.
“Woah buddy, watcha doin’?” Lol. And of course, “Lose Yourself.” And dragons live forever, not so little boys. You spanned a lot of musical decades there. And it’s “Val and Eric” because Val is the star and Eric is the costar. No insult to Eric, pretty sure he’d agree! And finally… well, don’t get me started on Avidyne.
Us Eastern Airlines guys would shoot that approach now and again departing Melbourne for Atlanta when the winds were right. The PAX loved it, but not as much as us guys up front!
You need to add check the Audi items to pre-flight, We RV a lot and checking the tow vehicle was added to our checklist for pre-departure!
Checking in with Fly Girl and Fly Guy N3175W
2 years ago, I was flying a Liberty University football charter into SFB in the Airbus, but as I approached DAB, thunderstorms closed SFB. Orlando Approach was going to hold me off Cocoa, so instead of a boring hold, I requested the NASA tour! I was cleared for the visual to the SE & slowed the Bus to 200kts FLAPS-1 @ 1000’ & gave the folks a nice tour down the Shuttle Runway!! Overflew the Visitor Center & Port Canaveral, then I requested to reverse course to give the other side a nice view, too….& was cleared as such! Then down I-95 to the Beach-line, W over MCO & Universal Studios, N over Lk Apopka & on to SFB behind the storms. The football team & boosters all loved the “slight detour!” Much more scenic than holding off Cocoa!! ;)
Hi 👋🏼. Love the inflight banter. Sure hope we get video of Kim’s solo when that happens. Keep the videos coming.
🙋♂️ Howdy from Texas
Hi, Love your channel, brings back lots of my memories when I flew my A 23-24 for 20 years. I have more than 3500 hrs. In that plane. I just love flying but now I’m 80 I just wish I could get in that plane again. Keep that shiny side up and fly safe. Will contact you again later and chat. ERNIE H.
Hi. I played calculator games too - pretty funny Kim!
Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago… requested w approach but they were too busy. Next time!
Good day sir
Can you do another video on trim and throttles controls and purpose
Mum to the rescue!
THANK GOD FOR MOM!❤👍
Great
My favorite couple yeah
Very nice video. Didn’t know about the NASA approach. But wouldn’t have done me any good anyway, since I might get fire by the airline, violated by the FAA, and a plane full of mad passengers for taking an unnecessary detour😂 and not getting them to MCO, fast enough. I have flown over that NASA runway a few times and it sure is long. I got to watch one shuttle launch. It was amazing! Nice job😃
Hi guys, hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
I love NASA! I’ve been to the KSC and the Cape ! Unfortunately didn’t witness a space shuttle launch but did witness space x launches!
No snacks, no keys & no wallet. BP you are in a whole heap of trouble boy! 🤣
Too bad about the NASA approach. Niko's Wings did that approach in a video he did a few weeks ago, it was pretty epic. Good to see both of you, as always!
Hey g uys i enjoy yalls videos thanks for the effort in doing them. Have a question for yall. So in the air you can see the fields way before camera 📷 is it just the 📷 not picking them up?
Pulse oxygen meter is best read on warm fingers, cold fingers will show much lower than on warm fingers.
Howdy from metro ATL andddd I’m not sure that “rule” of grabbing your SIC baggage from the ground transporter vehicle suddenly became the PIC’s responsibility 🤣. But maybe so “off camera”. Lol. Great flight. Be safe. Scott KLZU
No disrespect to her intended , it's her bag she should look after it .
Nice flight. I'm glad you brought up the O2 monitoring. I know that sometimes your videos get out of order. Was this flight before or after the last videos with Kim having a lack of O2 on the flight to the Ryder Cup?
Okay, as to tail number, and I just checked, it IS unassigned, although it's on a Hold. Still, there is no holding party for it, but it hasn't been purged from the system yet. You can get N55KK. The problem with this, however, is that N3175W is now known as Baron Pilot, witness the call out from the controller, and switching it would mean a whole bunch of people on the ground, and some in the air, would need to learn that 55KK would be the new 'Kristoffer and Company' call sign. Unfortunately, 55KC is NOT available, it's on a Bonanza 35!
EDIT: By the way, I just checked, and both N500KK and N500KC are both taken, so let's not have any plans for the Shrike Commander 500, okay?
NB55BP "Baron 55 Baron Pilot" that's the one fitting. Petty you couldn't make the NASSA APP. I'm from Argentina, Jujuy Actually. I'm learning a lot from your videos.
I'm actually flying a B55, but one of the first models with IO-470 engines (260 HP x2) with two blades props, I just fell in love with the plane.
Hi!!
Hi from Invercargill, New Zealand, love the videos, was wondering whats the instrument RAD Alt, never see it move.
It’s a radar altimeter. It tells me my height above the ground when below 2500 feet.
Wow Kim, I like that. My car, our plane. Moma didnt raise no fool. LOL
Been there, done that with leaving food in the car before a trip. Happily not wallet or keys, at least. Too bad the NASA approach didn't work out, but maybe another time!
Hey Guys Hope you had a great Thanksgiving !
Sorry you did not get the opportunity to shoot the Shuttle Landing Facility RNAV 33 or on the return RNAV 15 approach.
When I was lucky enough to work out there it was a standard way to end each flight both in the Gulfstream 2 and 3 as well as the UH1H1 and UH2 helicopters by shooting at least one of the approaches with the given wind direction. Keep trying, its something few Pilots will ever be able to say they have done, and worth every second knowing you have been where few have gone. Just remember for non NASA acft it requires a low pass, and then a turn out at a certain point as per the Tower.
Got a pulse oximeter a couple years ago when I started getting up above 8000' on my flights over the Appellation Mountains. It's a good idea. Do you have an O2 system in the plane or do you use a portable? I usually keep all my coms on Com 1 and weather (ATAS or ASOS) and guard on Com 2.
Sucks not getting the approach. If I'm down that way I'll have to see if I can get it some time. Have you guys ever considered flying the Hudson River Corridor?
Checking in HI
Thanks Mom
HI!
Could Kim’s pressure problems be tied to a high rate of climb? Checking in…I’m good 😉. Problem with a custom tail number is you’re so used to 3175WHISKEY it would take time to adjust. How about using a call sign vs. a tail number? Sweet Mini!
I like it! Did you “Lose Yourself” ?
Go go juice lol I say the same thing!
Hi guys
Hi 👋🏼
I did it in 1994 when there were two shuttles on the pads
Nice attempt for the low approach. Did you take your AOA’s out or do they fold down?
😊👍
N269DP for Dual Prop.
Did you make the behind the scenes golf tv production video?
Hi Guys!
Watch you all the time and finally taking the time to comment. I did my multi training and certification in a BE55. Since then, I have about 300 hours in an Aerostar 602P. I loved being about to get up over weather and the sheer speed of the airplane. accumulated
Question: I just went back an got my 2nd class medical in hopes that I can get some right seat time with local companies flying multi-engine prop charters. Do you have any advise in that respect? Especially how to locate such companies that I could reach out to.
👋🏼 FCI
