Very few "things" made me laugh while watching television, or now, watching RUclips video presentations; however, the Smothers' brothers have ALWAYS made me laugh deeply, and joyfully! And then, when I think of Tommy's recent passing, I cry.... Thank you to both of you for giving us so many years of appreciating what it means to laugh and feel true joy.
Since "Mom always liked you best" Still trying to grasp..... Tommy had a different Father than Dick?.... It would be nice to know authoritatively and would help to appreciate their humor. Love them.
She didn't like Dickie best. She liked Sherry their younger sister best. Whenever she had one of her binges or spells she would dump the boys with their grandfather. They shared a father, but he died during WWII and their mother had a hard time and like her kids, (all 3 of them) became an alcoholic.
Thanks. Yeah, I get it. It occurred to me that was the intent, but that's really lame. Even the audience passed on it: he had to grovel and plead for applause. It was lowbrow humor, at best. Must have been a rough low- idea writing session by the staff.
Rest in Peace, Tommy Smothers. Thanks for the memories.

These guys are the best. Its hard to make me laugh but they do it every time.
Talented musically and comedically. :)

A lot of truth to what Tommy said.
Watching this show as a teen meant that our generation was mainstream.
they had great comedic banter
The Y'M'CA...that was a subtle one! LOL!
I miss this kind of funny! RIP, Tommy!
So the one who actually said the words “CBS is a phony“ was Dick. I guess he knew they were going to get canceled anyway. 😂
Best of the best of the best

Just like Norm MacDonald they were doing all they could to push the envelope and both got fired. That’s why we love them.
I don't recall seeing this clip when the series aired on E. When did this episode first air?
At night?

I don't get the stupid joke about going to the YMCA and taking a shower, and no one would notice... ???
She was flat chested and would have looked like a boy
SHE went to the yMca to take a shower…get it? Men’s shower???
