In one show, Dick said, "We've come a long way since that first Thanksgiving in Plymouth, when the Pilgrims sat down at the table with the Indians to eat turkey." Tom replied, "Boy, I'll say we've come a long way. Now we're in Paris, sitting down at a table with the Viet Cong, eating crow."
+ I'm old enough to remember the "Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour," but I was so young that 90% of what they did went right over my head. But this gem is very similar, if not the same version, as appeared on "Here's Johnny: Magic Moments from the Tonight Show," an album I still own (and the first album released on the Casablanca label). It was on that album that I first heard Tom and Dick do "Boil that Cabbage Down," and it has been a favorite of mine since then. Mention crevices around me today, and I'll surely tell you that "there were pumas in those crevices!"
we were always so busy laughing that we never realized what terrific musicians they were.
These guys were WAY ahead of their time. Still hilarious today.
Growing up enjoy watching the Smothers Brothers. They help me how to laugh even though life was tough then. Thank you Tom for all the laughs. Rip😥
These guys were FUNNY!!!
RIP Tommy you were my favorite.
I grew up listening to them with my grandparents. I was lucky enough to see them live when I was a kid.😢

Well we all know who ended up with a crow sandwich in that comedy.
@@garywallenphd885 It sure as hell wasn't a 'comedy' for us who fought there.
A version of this bit was the first thing I ever heard them do, back in the early 60s I think. I am really going to miss Tommy.
They were the best! 👍
We are going to miss them…
Love to watch:
The Smother brothers rerun shows!
Please reshare them again! Tommy R.I.P. 😢

we do have puma's in america. i remember their tv show. it was very good.
So talented, so funny
We about wore that album out in the 60s.
these guys were the best
We do have pumas (i.e., cougars, mountain lions) in the US. What we don't have is "craveses." 😂😂😂
There are called crevices and they are real. If you can't trust Tommy Smothers, who can you trust. Dick Nixon or Donald Trump? I don't think so! Karl
If we don't have cravasses then where do the vicious pumas live?
@@KaaSerpent mic drop
@@KaaSerpent The vicious pumas are in S. America, the cougars are many places in America.
@@michaelgomez3044 Wherever, as long as there are cravasses.
RIP Tom Smothers.
"You're a fascist." Welcome to the world of band leaders.
Cmon Dick..you're from California. West of the Rockies is loaded with pumas.
Sure look like pumas.
I am a country girl. We do have pumas.
Danny Carvey asking the wizard of oz for an ass brought me here. Can’t complain.
Well they looked like Pumas...
