I've done it accidentally 🙃. That's why I love these under 60 sec tips. I appreciate the answers to PB moves nobody could explain to me before. This video is an example. Thanks Tanner!
This sport is new. Normal shots have people associated with as their “signature” shots. It’s like their invent a smaller version of basketball and then some dude is teaching you his signature fade-away shot.
@@yinshah3303 This is meant to mean, as a player, this is his preferred shot. Not meaning in all of pickleball he is known for this shot. Him as a player, does this shot exceptionally well, making him unique.
@@tanner.pickleball Not to be argumentative, but you kinda contradicted yourself. What does “unique” mean if not “in all of pickleball, he is(the one)known for this shot.”?
OMG! I am a newbie with pickelball, and I love your videos. It is just so much information overload for me. I try to concentrate on one thing, but when I play my friends, tell me this is what I am doing wrong in a completely different position.
Ben Johns said the backhand flick is not a windshield wiper motion and he talks about it near the end of this video ruclips.net/video/pt3HWfs7YCs/видео.htmlsi=m__Mzmq16BAB-9yu
when flicking you need to match your shoes to paddle haha. j/k backhand flick is top 5 favs...it's a critical to have in the arsenal. Took me a bit to get the balance and motion but it's 1000% worth perfecting this shot.
People mentioned that he shouldn’t go cross court on this need to remember that where the ball lands does not determine the shot. This is considered a down the middle flick because it was down the middle when it crossed the NVZ line.
This is Ben John’s signature move. Also it goes down the sideline and if it doesn’t go down the side line it’ll go directly back at your partner if you’re playing good players. A cross court flick is not ideal
you can flick it sideline, middle, or cross attack. Agree the cross can be a problem if they are ready for it. But if you hit at their feet a cross flick is deadly. Middle is safest play.
@@tanner.pickleball idk about that. I hear you but if their partner is covering like a decent player it was right at them. The partner should be shifting if the ball is across from them. Thats standard play. You shift to where the ball is. If it’s in front of you, cover down your line and your partner shifts to middle. If it’s in front of your partner you shift to their side slightly and cover middle why they defend the down the line. At least from the cameras angle that ball looks like it would be hit directly into the partners paddle which is coming back faster than you sent it. If you don’t acknowledge this possibility than you’re thinking pretty small. Middle is okay at times.
@@JournaloftheScottsI agree middle is safe. But sideline is safe too given you take your time. I think middle or right at their backside. If they’re right handed hit it to their left hip. Which is close to middle. That way you get to work them and shoot for middle.

You are so welcome!
Jesus loves you all and is the only way to heaven

Expecting it to come back is the biggest thing that starts separating players. The best always expect to have to hit another shot.
Yep!
So basically a table tennis backhand form

Ok!
Professional table tennis players can easily perform that coz its already part of their strokes.
Agreed!
Where do you aim the flick normally (favorite spot)?
Opponents chicken side, cross body usually.
pickleball paddle and cover custom
